The entire time we were in there, she never once spoke a word to me. Mind you, there were only three customers there, and she kept assisting the others, all the while ignoring me. I had clothes I wanted to try on, but she walked right past me and asked the other customer if she could start a fitting room for her, ignoring the pile of clothes I had in my arms. I have worked retail before, and I was NEVER even half as rude to a customer. Her attitude and behavior were absolutely uncalled for, and instead of purchasing around ten items that I wanted for my upcoming vacation, I walked out empty handed, and will never step foot in there again. I learned that J Crew Mercantile is actually a re-branded J Crew Factory store that is opening in non-outlet plazas and shops nationwide. I am a huge fan of the Factory store product, so I think it's fabulous that they're making their product available outside of outlet centers. I made a comment to my boyfriend that they were drinking beers and a lady working there said, "What did you say?" In an off putting tone like I was being scolded. I said, "I just said that guy's drinking a beer." And she said, again in the scolding tone that it was a wedding party. I said, "I'm sorry, I wasn't even sure what this store is." She said, "We're a men's clothing store and we accommodate wedding parties." In a tone that told me she thought I was an idiot. I was very taken a back at how rude she was to me, how she didn't try to help us, and how she didn't even try to sell the idea of this business. I can say I will not be recommending this business to anyone in the 200 head wedding we're going to in May, in fact, if anyone ever asks me for a place to find men's clothes I'll go out of my way to tell them not to go here. Message to the owner, AARON, this woman is killing your business my friend. I noticed other reviews where she's mentioned. I'm sorry you feel you have to put up w her rude behavior but she is really bringing down the business for you. My shopping experience started off being greeted by Aaron and telling him what I wanted. After looking around and deciding certain fabrics may not work well with my job we chose a different fabric and style. We chose two pants but 2 shirts of the same style in different sizes. Everything was waiting for me inches fitting room to try on. I was focused on look and Aaron asked about comfort. He brought it down to the most important factor.

Both times I was met with a long line that I waited in for over an hour with little to no direction about what I needed to be doing or how I go about picking anything out. The second time I went in I even had an appointment, apparently that did not matter. As I looked around the store I saw two employees doing absolutely nothing but letting the phone ring at the desk and the third employee was working by himself to try and size and fit the huge line coming in the door. I will not be returning this location again. Sad to see.

This is one of the pricier boutiques in Peoria but they do have sales and specials that make…read moreshopping there a little less painful. They also carry Mavi brand jeans which I love and are no more expensive than online anywhere else. I like stopping in here to look for a unique piece to liven up my closet.
