While I'm actually shopping, the employees are friendly and very helpful, but when it's time to check out, wow! Lately, most times my purchases, food and otherwise, are tossed onto the conveyor, then tossed back into the cart. Clothing that was folded, was unfolded, bunched up, then put into the cart. Bags of veggies, frozen or fresh, are tossed, ostensibly bruising the contents inside. It was not a busy time at the store: only one or two customers per checkout lane, so there was no need to rush. The lack of respect for my purchases is disgraceful. There is no need to throw my purchased items around. This happens way too often, please treat the customer and her/his purchases with a little respect. read more

I continually fail to see the appeal. A club membership should enhance and add incentive, reduce hassle, if anything ensure there's less work for the members. Yet the Costco experience is more work, more waiting, everytime I visit with my sister and friends, there is more steps to the shopping process. Checking in at the entry, scanning the receipts at exit, lines and extra time everywhere I go here. Sure quality store brands, insane selection, and endless new unique items to try holds strong appeal but prices are overall not giving any value plus as online shopping streamlines and eBay starts offering food stuffs, why come here? read more

I have used Costco gas in many places across the country and at this particular place It was clean and well attended with staff a available to help you in no matter what type of situation you may need. Costco in general has very good covid-19 practices in all their staff were masked as well. The quality of the gas is excellent especially for the price point that they ask for and if you need to use premium gas it's a really good value. I recommend using Costco not only for the quality of their goods and their gas but how they treat their staff and give them a livable wage with healthcare and benefits I always want to support a large retail Box store that does that type of thing read more

This Costco location is well-organized and clean. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I have noticed that the associates working there have a good attitude and stay on task with their duties. I have spoken with many and they all like the company they work for and their pay rates/benefits. Happy workers = better service and company. One thing I learned was that if you have an "Executive Membership," you get 2% back from your expenditures that have accrued over the year of membership. The Costco credit card has more benefits that result in more earnings towards credits that can be used for renewal or shopping. Costco will pay the difference in cost from the "Gold Star" to be an "Executive" member if you don't earn enough money back from the 2% benefit over the cost of the difference. You can keep the 2% back, and you get that amount to spend how you want. If you choose to use the credit towards your yearly renewal, Costco will pay the difference it costs to have an Executive membership. A member that buys a lot from Costco will benefit the most from an Executive membership. I received a nice check last year, which got my entire yearly membership paid for, plus extra money to spend! It's a win-win deal. Compared to other discount clubs, Costco is the best, in my opinion. My opinion is based on the the customer service, quality of products, and value. The quality of Costco's brand (Kirkland) is just as good, if not better in regards to their products. They have a satisfaction guarantee on Kirkland products to give their customers a chance to try them without risk/loss. Returns are very easy and efficient. For example, I returned a broken printer after I had it for 2 years. Costco gave me a full refund (in store credit) that I used to purchase a new one. This is a review of my recent experience at the food court. I used to really rave about the hot dogs, the price was affordable and the options of condiments was great. First, the hot dog it self did not taste the same almost gritty. The next we asked for onions and they stated they no longer provide them. I am still disappointed about the removal of the bratwurst. I will not comment about the kiosk to place your order, but you can get around that by placing your order with a cashier. I am in favor of saving money but quality does count! We haven't had a membership for about a year, but I wanted to give it a rating anyway. Let's face it, Costco is awesome. First of all, it's an amazing corporation that treats its employees well. That alone is worth supporting the place! But I recently went here with my sister and now I'm all missing the place and want to renew my membership, My only real issue is what to do with a months worth of toilet paper and my picky, bird like eaters just don't go through food quick enough to justify it. But any time we go here with family members, there are samples to be had, smiles on the employees faces, and a BIG GIANT CHOCOLATE FRO YO at the end of the trip. You just cannot go wrong if you need 900 plastic cups and enough laundry soap to keep up with a soccer team. read more

I love EVERY Costco, and the Peoria location is no exception. It has all the greatest hits: sides of salmon, affordable high quality dog food, $3 sea salt grinders, good oIive oil, and mouth-watering rotisserie chicken. It didn't seem too busy in the parking lot or aisles when I visited this Sunday, but the lines at the register stretched back into the toiletry section. I heard a fellow customer mutter that it's like this every time they come. By the time I was ready to check out, however, the line had subsided and I paid in moments. My girlfriend felt it would've a good idea if we signed up for a membership at Costco. We are Executive Members! Woooooo. I'm not entirely sure what that actually gets us to be honest. My biggest beef with Costco is they only take Visa. My primary bank uses MasterCard. Obviously this is some kind of cost saving measure. I usually only shop here with my girlfriend since her primary bank uses Visa and I rarely carry cash. I find the lack of kitty litter variety to be disappointing. I was hoping to find a large size version of Tidy Cat. It appears they only sell Scoop Away. The same can be said about cat food. I was hoping to find large bags so I could stock up and be done with it. The store seems to have more dog related food and merchandise. The plus side to shopping at Costco is it's been months since we had to buy shredded cheese, paper towels, toilet paper, or deodorant. The trick is to decide what is worth buying in bulk. If it works out that it costs less then I'm all for getting it. I mostly like to walk around the store and to see if they have any interesting items to buy. They had pretty expensive security cameras that I have my eyes on. For the most part, I let my girlfriend decide what's the best deal because she's better about those things. The last thing I'll mention is the gas station. When I found out Costco has a gas station that only members could use I thought that was great. However, you get no discount getting your gas from there like you do at Kroger. The gas station is tuck away off to the side. You can't see it from the road. I have yet to see the benefit of going there over any other gas station. If I'm there and need gas then I might. Maybe I need enlightened. read more

I cant say enough good about CostCo. The savings are absolutely worth the initial cost of membership, the store is CLEAN and well stocked, staff is friendly and helpful. If your a walk in customer who walks out with your purchases it is great. Beyond that Costco fails time and time again. Tried the cell phone booth. Ignored and only employee walked away before talking to me. Tried the car buying service. Huge failure. They use a Ford dealer who has a one star rating online. The dealer calls and instead of a price can only help if i "come in and talk with them". Prisionor at a car dealership is exactly what the program is supposed to relieve you of! I contacted Costco and told them not to auto renew my membership next month. In true fashion she said OK and did not care why. read more

As a new member, there are definitely pros AND cons to shopping here. If you are really into organic items, this is the perfect place for you. However, if you normally buy "regular" meat, eggs, milk, etc then these items are going to be much more expensive. The same three pack of ground turkey is $8 at Kroger but $16 at Costco because it is "organic". They don't seem to offer any non-organic choices. The same goes for eggs: $2.50 for 2 dozen "free range" or you can go to Aldi's across the street and pay $1.20 for 2 dozen. I also dislike that none of the aisles have signage stating what is in them so until you get the layout memorized (unlikely as I only go monthly) you have to go up and down each one to see what's in them. The produce is in a giant freezer room that you need to bring a parka to navigate for more than 3 minutes. Payment is fussy: only Visa cards or a debit of any type as long as you choose debit. They have a chip reader on their payment pads but don't let you use them because "it takes too long" so not the most secure. Why would corporate install those if you aren't going to use them?? I LOVE their deli section with ready made salads and take & bake items. The stuffed peppers are amazing and so is the quinoa salad. They have awesome quality clothing for very cheap too. I believe my next tv purchase will be here as well, great prices on electronics. I also got some really great pillows for $10 each. The gas is about the same price as having a Kroger card with .10 cents off a gallon but I think it is better quality. I don't care for the set up where you have one entrance and one exit because you will get trapped between cars and won't be able to leave when you are finished, you will have to wait for the car in front of you to move. read more

Generally love Costco but I recently had an unpleasant experience at the returns desk that was so unnecessary. Don't treat your customers trying to return a defective product like they are "suspect" because they want their money back because the quality doesn't meet the usual COSTCO standards! I have to admit, I like Costco. I like their prices, I like their selections, I like their food samples, but, I LOVE the hearing aid services. These folks are head and shoulders better than anything I could have expected. I had heard that they gave reasonable service at a fair cost,so last year I brought my then 96 year old Mom in for a much needed hearing aid. Boy was I surprised. The gent administered, what I judged, to be one of the most thorough exams I have ever seen, they did not do the up-sell that I was expecting. Instead they recommended a hearing aid that was most appropriate for her needs and it was NOT the most expensive one they sell. A return visit was required for fitting and adjustment and that went well too. All in all a great experience. Fast forward to today, when I inquired about getting a replacement dome (the piece that goes in the ear canal). Not only did they GIVE me the replacement domes, they instructed me on how to remove and install them on the aid. THEN they handed me the little plastic tool and said there ya go! I'm like how much the cost of the tool was and they just waived me off and wished me a great day. I was floored by their kindness. Now, I know the materials and the tool probably cost maybe a buck or less, but they made me one dedicated customer. As such I tout them every time someone mentions needing a hearing device. I can't say enough good things about Costco. They have a great selection of most everything. I especially love the organic fruits, vegetables, and meats. I live 45 minutes from this Costco, but I still find the deals to be worthwhile. The quality of their items is fantastic. I've never had a problem with anything I've purchased and in the event that I've bought something in the wrong size or whatnot, they are great about returns. A few things to know if you've never been to a Costco: - It is a giant warehouse. Costcos are always clean and well maintained, but don't expect some sort of cute store. -Sometimes their inventory changes unexpectedly. There are a lot of items that remain consistent, but they have seasonal items that change. So, you may buy an awesome mattress there and then go back a few months later to find that the mattresses have been replaced by patio furniture. -Most things come in bulk. Therefore, Costco won't be your only stop when doing weekly grocery shopping. -They have a food court inside with amazing deals on ready made food. For example, a giant slice of pizza for $2. A foot long hot dog and 20 oz fountain drink for $1.50. And plenty more. -This Costco has a gas station where you can buy gas for typically about 10 cents/gallon less than surrounding gas stations. You have to be a member to buy gas. -Memberships cost $50/year for a basic one with no rewards. Or you can get the "executive" membership for $100/year and get cash back. This is the way that I do it, and my membership always pays for itself with the cash back. But I also buy a lot of my company's office supplies there - copy paper, toner, etc, so I spend a lot. -You cannot use a credit card to pay for your purchase unless it is a Costco credit card. Otherwise you can pay with a debit card or cash (maybe checks? I'm not sure on that one). -Closed on the major holidays and closes early (I believe 6pm) on Sundays. So there you have it. My opinion is that Costco is a great concept, and this store is as well run as others I've been to. Plus, Costco is known for treating and compensating their employees well - bonus! read more

Super friendly staff. Some great deals if you watch. Kirkland store brand is FANTASTIC...I like it more than most name brands...even the alcohol. Always clean inside. You can find some great deals on things like clothes, shoes, bedding. The food stand is really great not to sound silly...the food is cheap, always hot, great quality and it is BEYOND clean back there. I've been a member for 7 years or more now love the store but I'm on oxygen now and the store is too big to walk the whole thing I try to get a scooter and they r always taking they only have 3 when my membership is up I'm def won't be renewing ! Sams has 10 to 15 scooters Walmart and our local grocery store has 10 too ,why with a big store like this you have 3 I know I'm not the only one to complain ! read more

TERRIBLE FLOWER ORDERING EXPERIENCE!! Ordered 21 bunches of 2 different kinds of eucalyptus 2 weeks prior to when I needed them. They were supposed to arrive at the East Peoria Location on Thursday. When I showed up to pick them up they were never ordered. Was told they didn't have one type that I ordered anymore but could order 21 of one of the other ones that I needed. Told them go ahead and was told it would be there the next day at open. Came back next day not there, and was told I would get a call when they got there. Finally at 2pm never heard anything so I called and they told me they wouldn't be able to get them until the next day......had to cancel order completely and go without since it was too late to order from anywhere else. ..... NEVER AGAIN!! read more

Always a great shopping experience. Isles are easy to navigate, food samples are almost always available, and the prices are fantastic. And don't forget to fill up your automobile fuel tank while you are there. They generally have the cheapest gas in the area. It's my favorite store to shop at. read more

Pharmacy: Had a prescription for my cat called into walgreens and went to pick it up and they wanted $75.00 for a 30 day supply or $305.00 for the 90 day supply. Did not take it as the price was outrageously high. Went to Costco RX which by the way you don't have to be a Costco member in order to use the pharmacy and their 30 day script was under $20.00 and the 90 day supply cost me $37.00. Thats right $268 less than Walgreens. Anyone need the address to Costco in East Peoria? read more
