I don't normally shop here but happened to stop by as I saw they have a Sephora located in store. I was surprised to see everything was well organized and clean, employees were friendly, and they even had dog toys marked on clearance. As a dog owner, you inevitably go through hundreds of dog toys in the year. It's imperative to get dog toys at an affordable price due to the rate my dogs chew through their toys. I was able to pick up 4 dog toys for under $10!! In my book, Kohls will also have a special place in my heart for inexpensive dog toys and for providing me with a physical Sephora store in an area void of many shopping options. read more

This place is hard to rate because they either got what you want or are looking for or they don't. There is never any store people around to help look for anything so you gotta roam on your own. They have lots of discounted items and some are good deals, others not so much. They have really good quality cheap polo shirts though. Much cheaper than I can get in Hawaii and they are pretty well made. Last summer, I picked up 3 and they hold up well in the heat. This store has lots of Boston merchandise as well but it seems to not sell at all. Store overall is clean and cashiers are friendly. read more

Really like to come here. Never had a bad experience here. Unlike some other stores I could shop at. There's another store I can get groceries at but the checkout lines are Always crazy. A bunch of people that look like that want to fight with everyone in Line. But here at Kohl's is perfect, never ever a bad experience. It's really neat and clean. Horrible place to work. I ended up in the emergency room I made sure to call the store to let them know I wouldn't be in for my shift, they called me 4 times after already speaking to someone. I called them back and they threatened to fire me. I told them I was currently going through and miscarriage and they didn't show any sympathy. I don't recommend working here. What you have to deal with from the managers isn't worth the 15$ hour pay. read more

I like Kohls. There is a variety or products for yourself and home. They are good about swapping out items for seasons. They carry small and xxxxl sizes. This location is big. You don't feel like you are on top of other people when you are shopping. Price scanners usually work and there isn't usually lines at the cashier. And you can send Amazon packages back here. Negatives: completely understaffed It's very hard to find a worker and when you do they can't help you with "other departments". This was a problem before Covid too. Customer Service desk lacks service. Employees there either just don't care to help customers or are so overworked with other things that they don't have time to turn and acknowledge customers standing in the store. There is currently in Jan 2022 an employee named Tyler I think. When he saw me standing in line at customer service and no one had turned to even notice I was there, he came from behind me, from some place in the store and helped me. He was pleasant. Knowledgeable. Efficient. There are great people working here, even if others are underwhelming. Much like real life! If you run a business and need customer service, go poach him. I hadn't been in thus Kohl's for over a year. Thought I would check it out for clothing and to learn Bout Amazon returns etc The men's clothing department is an absolute mess. The jeans are barely organized by brand let alone style and size. I gave up trying to dig through the disorder. Prices not clearly marked and not that great even with confusing app coupons. I love this Kohl's in Newington, NH. I did a lot of online shopping this past year and the curbside pickup was very efficient. Once I was able to venture into the store, I realized how much I missed shopping. I am so happy the dressing rooms are now open. I have always found the clearance section fun to look through and have found many great bargains. The best part is you can order from their kiosk and have the sizes and colors you need shipped directly to your house at no charge. It is the best setup of any store around. Kohls has many affordable items which dont get enough press. For example,they have great, soft throws that are great quality, low price, and hold up well. Koh;'s signature big towel and blanket is awesome as well. They also have great sales and if you go online you can find the same thing (most of the time) in your local store. This is hit or miss. What makes Kohl's miss the mark is the higher prices on some of the beauty supplies and the lack of a cohesive advertising promotion. I would fire the advertising company or in house team--there is no unified theme, no message that hits the mark, nothing to tie Kohls to your needs! It is a shame that the great comforters, quilts, handbags and so many other things don't get enough exposure. Advertisng needs a new look. That said, you should check Kohl's out. Go about it like a treasure hunt--they are not going to make it easy to find their great buys. There are some great sales items mixed in with the women's underclothing, regular clothing, and housewares. I can't believe that the many good deals to be had here are just slipping though people's hands because they are not laid out well in advertising parlance. I hope Koh's get's a second opinion on the store layout and the sales. Mix it up once it a while. As a consumer, put some time into scouting out deals. Kohl's loses two stars. The jeans were in no particular size order, it was totally random. There was a guy who kept going into the dressing rooms with two women, the young one being maybe 13 or 14. He was trying on clothes and getting endless opinions, but does a grown man really belong in a department store dressing room with a young girl? And shouldn't there be some staff people floating around the changing rooms? And they're still trying to get me to take one of their credit cards. And tell them my zip code. I have been in this store a few times when in the area. In general, I really like to shop at Kohl's, but this particular one makes my mind dizzy! The times I have been in this store, the whole place seems to be in disarray and very unorganized. It's hard to find anything. Displays look like they haven't bee straightened up all day. This store is a mess. It's dirty, none of the few items on displays are folded, and sizes are limited. You could tell that some items had been on clearance and had the clearance tags mostly taken off. There's a ton of picked over clearance items that aren't sorted into sizes. Maureen and Mariah are the worst two people I've even spoken to for customer service. I wanted to cancel my order due to selecting store pick up and after online ran my card, let's me know some will be shipped and part is store pickup. So I called to cancel. Maureen just says "OK" AND disconnected the call. No mention of I have to cancel online, it's not something they can do in store. I call back requesting to speak to someone else after explaining her poor service. She puts on this cocky girl already with an attitude. Her response was " so what do you want me to do?" Just wanted to reach out and let you know about a Less than enjoyable experience I just had at the Portsmouth New Hampshire Kohl's I had a older woman with bleach blonde hair who watched me through the clearance make up section as I was trying to decide which ones I would like to purchase she was staring over my shoulder for too long for it to be acceptable as I was looking through the make up she said to me you really shouldn't open those because of Covid which I understand but usually make up when it's on clearance a lot of people handle and it ends up being damaged and I don't wanna spend my money on make up that's damaged so I didn't respond to her Which she continue to stand over my shoulder and watch me to which then she comes into my space to reach in front of me in front of the make up that I'm looking at to grab some thing so she came within 6 feet of me which I thought your employees were supposed to be trained not to come within 6 feet of a customer and then I finally walked away and she proceeded to stare at me as I went up and checked out I am less than thrilled with this experience I shop this particular kohl's often and don't appreciate being followed around the store like I'm a criminal not to mention I spent a bunch of money anyway. I understand that it's the end of the night and the employees would like to get out but this was unacceptable and I'll definitely be telling people that I know about this I just wanted to make it aware that this is not OK behavior to customers read more

As a rule, I don't do business with this type of store. My wife plays the specials game with them, a couple of times a year going there at 6:30AM to get special pricing. About 2 months ago, I bought some wicking t-shirts there for running. I am not a shopper by nature. I was put off by their pricing, as I couldn't tell how much anything actually cost. I finally gave up figuring, if it was too much, I'd just leave my stuff at the counter and walk out. I was able to get 4 t-shirts for about $50. They asked if I had a Kohl's card (I assumed a customer loyalty card), I said no, then filled out a form to get one. They said it would be about two weeks before I learned if it was approved. Only then did I realize I had just applied for a credit card. I planned on taking my 10% savings and canceling the card as soon as I got it. I would not provide my SS#, so they rejected the app; all good. While having my car serviced in town the other day, I decided to pay another visit. Again, I couldn't really tell what the prices were, but they seemed to be in the same ballpark as the last prices I'd seen. When I checked out, my 6 shirts cost me $185!!!!! I was dumbstruck. By any calculation of the prices listed, I don't see how they arrived at that number. I wanted the shirts, so I paid the money, but boy, am I displeased. What is so difficult about simply pricing items as they are actually priced? In spite of the mostly neat appearance of the store, there seems to be very little order or structure to the way things are setup. I may return to online shopping for my clothing; this is just not okay. read more

Four years later and sadly nothing has changed, this store has the same problems mentioned in my last review. But there's something about this store that I forgot to write about- the lack of privacy in the changing rooms. The doors are super short and are louvered. You, know those doors with wooden slats? So if you're tall or if you scooch up a bit on your tip toes, you could just look over the doors and see someone getting changed. If you're short or if you scooch down a bit, you could see through the doors' wooden slats and see someone getting changed. I'd take pictures of these doors with their lack of privacy, but I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea and get myself arrested. Check 'em out for yourself to see what I mean I guess. Anyways, for this reason I can never try on clothes at this store. They should get rid of those doors and replace them with ones that actually give you some privacy. I love Kohl's. I go there every year for black friday specials and always find something great (for myself). The employees are usually really helpful. For example last time I went there to buy sneakers I found a shoe with no match that was my size and I loved. The girl went out back to find the match and seemed more excited than I did that she found it. A lot of people would make you feel bad for being kind of a pain. Also they have a very easy return policy. Pretty much no questions asked. The only thing they could work on is the disorganization with some of the clothing sections especially inside and right outside of the dressing rooms. "DOES ANYONE WORK HERE"?? That's what I had to do to get a price check for a small appliance. I looked around and found that they didn't have anyone working in any of the surrounding departments. What I did find was that they had prices written on stickies for some of the appliances. I wanted to pick up some newborn clothes. It was a mess. Clothes were everywhere and all over the floor. This location is disorganized and messy. It is also way understaffed and almost impossible to get help. The in store kiosk is challenging at best and not particularly user friendly. I set aside time to specifically go shoe shopping. The area was a disaster with boxes all mixed up and strewn all around. I found one shoe I was interested in but no mate could be found, only a box with the lid ripped off. The experiencing turned so frustrating I left the store and don't intend to return. That is a good rule to stay away from stores like this.I am a bargain shopper like most trying to live within my Financial means. The only time I shop at stores like this is when they have those really good specials like that's. They do have some good quality stuff I have to mention. But again everything is overpriced and when they have those sales that's the only time it's worth it! And remember even then you buy only what you need!! read more
