I appreciate that they have color tag sales but the colors are confusing. Yellow looks just like orange, for example. The store itself could use some improvements. It's typically pretty dirty and they racks of clothes just pushed into random spots around the store so it's very cluttered and difficult to navigate. There's also very little rhyme or reason to how most of the Knick-knacks and books are organized. It's just kids books and adult books, not separated by genre or even fiction vs. nonfiction. The service is always pretty good. The people are friendly and say hello and goodbye. It's still not anywhere close to the best thrift store in the area but they have improved a little bit. I do think it's terrible how much prices have gone up in the last several years. The point of thrift stores is for low-income people to have the chance to buy good quality things secondhand for an affordable price. A lot of these places are forgetting that.

A quick scramble with Siri lead me to to Trapp and Co where I met Sarah. She was quick to understand both my predicament and help me create an arrangement that was FAR superior to my original one (for a heck of a lot less than I paid another florist). Valentine's Day can often mean a dozen roses and a box of chocolates. At 5:45 PM though, Sarah took the time to ask me about the type of arrangement I would ideally want and crafted this amazing piece. I loved it, my valentine loved it, and we both catch ourselves smiling each time we move past it. Thank you for all your help and we look forward to shopping with you again soon!

I was so impressed with the store that I did some thrift thing for the first time in a couple of decades. The staff was super helpful and kind, most folks there are volunteers. I was able to find a pin striped suit that fit me for $30. All I have to do is get the pants hemmed because I am short. I also got a couple of shirts, including a KC Royals shirt for five dollars because I didn't have one. Students and teachers get discounts on Friday and seniors 55+ get 25% off on Wednesdays. I love that this store works with people who are transitioning from being unhoused to housed and they let them come in and select whatever they need for their new place with no charges. For this reason, we will be making all of our donations at Hillcrest thrift store from now on.

Keith and Team were presented with an impossible challenge, and rose to it. Late the week of 1/20…read moremy son, the Marine, lost his great grandmother. By serendipity, he was on home on leave during her passing, and agreed, when asked, by his grandfather, the Airforce Vet, to cancel his plans, drive 8 hours, and be present and uniformed at the funeral. Great Grandma married an Army Air Corpsman after a whirlwind romance in 1942. She would have been quite impressed by the uniform. After all, she kept the last one over 50 years. In packing on Sunday night for a Tuesday morning funeral, our Marine became aware that his SIZE 14 patent leather shoes had not made the trip with his blues. Because Grandpa was so appreciative of his presence, that he assigned him pall bearer duties, ONLY the dress blues were appropriate for the event. I began first thing Monday morning calling any store in the KC area that had a sliver of a chance of fixing this problem in 24 hours or less. Keith and his staff answered their phone - no phone tree. They knew their inventory, their rental and sales abilities, and they jumped into action. When I arrived at 0930 the next morning, they had a plan A, a Plan B, and epic customer service and attention. I have blanked out the Marine's face as it was taken after the funeral. After fulfilling his duties at Mt Washington Cemetery, uphill, during a week with a rather lot of moisture, his shoes are no longer in regs... but they certainly completed the mission.
