Simply outstanding. Everything was amazing and I will be coming back every chance I get Only non truckers were us, food was 10/10, hot Chai was incredible and free, Lassi was perfect. The curries were succulent and you know it's legit when the table has a huge jar of mango Pickles on it. You won't regret going read more

I have to admit, it was a different Indian restaurant experience than what we've had in the past. I walked in and nobody was speaking English. I didn't know what the dishes were but hoped someone could explain. When I walked in I didn't see anywhere to sit and eat. I saw a young man lying on a cot in a different room off the entrance. I asked some of the patrons ahead of me if there were tables to sit at and they directed me to a hallway that led to the booths. When it was my turn at the counter I told the man that my past experiences with Indian were Chicken Tika and Chicken Tika Masala and Naan. After a little discussion with him he told me about Chicken Biryani. I remembered it being mentioned in other reviews as being good. It sounded good from his description so I ordered one order for my husband and I to split. I ordered 2 orders of garlic naan. We took a whole order with us because they are huge. (My husband was waiting outside with the dog until the food came). The food was delicious and everyone who we came in contact with were very nice. It appears to be a place for truck drivers to eat and take a rest. There were a ton of trucks in the parking lot. My husband and I would definitely recommend this place and if we pass this way again on our travels we will stop and eat! read more

This spot serves some of the spiciest Indian food I've ever had--definitely not kid-friendly and no spice adjustments, so you get what you get! My husband absolutely loved his chicken biryani, but the curry I ordered was way too spicy and overly salty. Plus, it didn't come with rice, so we had to order that separately, which felt a bit odd. On the bright side, they do offer free chai masala, which was a nice touch. The place seems to be a favorite for truck drivers, so if you're into bold, no-frills flavors and can handle serious heat, this might be your spot! read more

We took a break here on our way to Joshua Tree National Park and were pleasantly surprised to find an Indian eatery on the highway. The food was good--we grabbed a takeout and enjoyed it at a rest area at the next exit. This spot is mostly frequented by truckers, and it made for a nice, satisfying stop on our journey. Overall, a good break! read more

Loved the parathas and the hot tea. We were driving for 4hrs and needed some good breakfast, random search showed the dhaba and we decided to stop and check it out. On point . Fast service . Thanks read more

As an Indian, I approve that this is one of the best authentic North Indian food I had. We were 4 people, all got their thali and tried different dishes like Chicken curry, egg curry, kadhi pakora, dal makhani and kala chana. I love chicken and kala chana the best. Kheer was also good. Staff is very friendly and asks you every once in a while if you need anything. read more

After our Utah vacation, we stopped in Barstow for the night on our way back to the Bay Area. Craving Indian food, we discovered a dhaba on I-40 and ended up with a delightful takeout, including butter naan, shahi paneer, and aloo paratha. The authentically dhaba-style food pleasantly surprised us, making it a satisfying meal. It's a hidden gem - a hole-in-the-wall place. If you're passing through like us, give it a try; you won't be disappointed. read more

Fair warning: do not come here if you can't speak at least a couple words of Hindi or anything similar. You will be extremely lost as there seems to only be one person here who can speak even just a few words of English and they are not always there either. Other than that, this place is pretty minimalistic. It's pretty much just a house, the front is pretty deserted, you just walk in and see yourself. The menu is only two or three dishes every day, so it's pretty limited. It's also only vegetarian here. But the quality of the food is good, so if you're looking for some authentic Indian food then this would definitely be a good place to stop by and try. read more

Ambiance - Welcoming, they were playing Bollywood super duper hit Movie Sholay. Mazda agaya. Service - speedy fast and accommodating. The owner was asking if we need anything else. What can I get for you. And the person on the counter was also very calm and had a smile on his face. Food - A-MA-ZING!!!! True Dhabba style taste and food quality was A1. Had veg and non veg both options. read more

Kohinoor Dhaba - East Indian food! - Indian Near Me - Yucca, Arizona

We had chicken biryani, chicken curry, paneer methi malai (I think) and garlic naan. Everything was delicious, especially the naan! We had leftovers and the flavors were heightened the next day. I also ordered mango lassi. I've had this at other restaurants many times and this tasted more authentic. I could taste the yogurt and spices, and not just like mango flavored yogurt. Service was great! The person at the counter explained the menu and even chose a dish for us since we could not decide what to pick. When we came in, we thought it was takeout only. The tables were in an adjacent room, through a door behind the store/counter. The area can be improved. Overall, a great find in the middle of nowhere! read more

This place may be worth the stop just for it's sheer bizarreness. Usually I'm a sucker for oddities, but in this case, the food didn't rise to the occasion. The building layout makes no sense, which is frankly endearing. There is a massive video surveillance system behind the counter, where a man with a gun takes your order. Less endearing. None of that matters to me if the food is good. But in this case, it was middling. The flavors were satisfactory, but $15 for a rather small helping on a cafeteria tray just didn't cut it. I have no problem with a workman's lunch, but I could eat better and more for less in expensive LA. There must be a subpopulation of Indian truckers that this restaurant serves. Which is random and awesome, and I wish this restaurant the best. But in a desert full of hidden gems, it felt like a wasted opportunity as I passed through. read more

Kohinoor Dhaba - Happy!!! - Indian Near Me - Yucca, Arizona

Sorry I forgot to take a photo of this excellent food. The co-owner's mother-in-law is the cook, and the primary market is truck drivers who want good, homemade food. The food is absolutely 10/10 spectacular. I had the veg thali and mix-veg paratha and they were prepared perfectly and promptly. The service was cheerful and efficient as was the price! When I come back I may just bring a cooler to pack away their paratha for my next road trip. read more

The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was warm and welcoming! We ordered a thali plate with chicken curry and mattar mushroom, chicken biriyani, 2 chicken wraps (one extra spicy) and 2 namkeen (salty) lassis. There's a whiteboard out front near the main desk with the menu of the day displayed, with no prices. Once you order, you can go sit down and they bring you hot, fresh food. After a long day's drive, we were happy to see an Indian dhaba with homestyle food. We ordered two combos (rice, chapatis + 2 subjis) and one chicken wrap. The subjis (palak paneer and kadhi pakoda) were freshly made, hot and relatively spicy. We only got chapatis and no rice with the other, probably should have asked for it and did not. The older gentleman (father of the younger man at front desk?) came by to bring us additional fresh chapatis and was very warm in the traditional serving style. However, the prices charged in the end were relatively high - California / Bay Area prices. They charged $12.99 for each combo meal and $14.99 for the chicken wrap which was in fact, huge (like a well-filled Burrito), ending up paying over $50 for 3 people. We wondered if the prices were quoted based on who the customer is, because I would be surprised if truck drivers would pay this rate for 2 chapatis and 2 small subjis when they could get a filling fast-food meal for less. read more

On our way back to Orange County from Grand Canyon on 40 West Freeway, we were hungry and the only place we found nearby is Subway and Kohinoor Dhaba. We were so glad we decided to eat at Kohinoor Dhaba! The place is a small house with a few booths. The menu is written on a white board as you enter the front door. We had the curry chicken and Aloo Gobi. Roti was given to mop up the curry and the server kept asking if we want more Roti. The food is simple yet so delicious! The servers were super friendly. There majority of their clients are truckers (Indian descents) so we know this place is good. Most ate there and then bought to go for their journey. Highly recommended for anyone passing by and want a good home cooking Indian food. read more

Best food ever in middle of nowhere!! This review is from my 7 year old who says she could eat the whole restaurant . We ordered Shahi paneer, dal tadka, mix vegetarian. We all ate more than our appetite , food hit right to your heart. Serving person was super sweet and fed us with his heart. In the end we ate the custard recommended by the person and it was bomb. My daughter says wish this restaurant was near our home. I too wish the same . Wish them good luck and keep on with this good service and food forever . read more
