BEST BUFFET IN LAUGHLIN! The Avi's Native Harvest Buffet is a seasonal buffet with a HUGE variety of delicious dishes and made-to-order meals. My family and I revisited this location after a couple of years and it's still the best! We came for a breakfast/brunch appointment and left extremely happy with our experience. There's stations for eggs & steak, breakfast potatoes/home fries, an omelette maker, and fresh fruit. I spotted tasty bacon and all the breakfast classics, I think they had some waffles too! Additionally, I noticed they had chilaquiles and other Mexican items like beans and rice. I loved the dessert bar! I had pumpkin pie in the morning, yes, I'm that guy! I also had a delicious powdered donut and a bite of chocolate cake because it's never too early for dessert. They had several donut options, pies, and other treats for all ages, they even had a soft serve machine! The staff were happy and very friendly. All the patrons seemed to be enjoying their food, there was a nice mix of people. I always appreciate an inclusive buffet where everyone feels respected and welcome. The ambiance was mild, we had a nice look out the window of the Colorado River and a grassy area. I spotted MANY tables and booths inside. Groups of any size are welcome to enjoy. My only suggestion is that they hire more staff, some of the employees seemed overworked and need support! We just came here for the first time in years for breakfast. They are a seasonal breakfast buffet. I'm not completely sure if more in summer they have more days. But we went for breakfast. Bring your players card if you have one! You get a discount. The omelet bar was our favorite. It was all fresh and delicious. They had a lot of options from Mexican to pancakes and waffles to chicken fried steak! And all of it was so fresh and hot! Totally recommend this place for breakfast! You can ask for river view too! The buffet has been on and off since Covid, this was one of my favorite places to eat. When I heard it reopened we went tonight for dinner what a surprise greeting at the counter. The hostess must have been around when the Avi first opened basically clueless over charging for the buffet. After finding a table I immediately went to the Prime Rib Station and to my surprise hits precut thin sitting in au jus for 3 hours. I asked for a piece of medium rare from the kitchen no can do. Asked to see the Chef he exited through the back door. The place was empty lack luster. For $24 a person buffet they had the combination of breakfast and dinner together. No French fries just chips, no coconut shrimp, no bake potato. A small piece of chicken (frozen) cordon blue, Tilapia, dried pork shredded BBQ. The Mexican section the chicken looked spoiled sitting its juices not refrigerated. The variety of desserts looks like they came from Smith's supermarket. The place was emptied and the staff was slow to refill your drinks. The ambiance was horrible. I recommend stay away the only reason it's open they are remodeling another kitchen. Finally the so called Chefs wearing the jackets look like a street gang with all the tattoos dressed in white jackets, but very polite with their hands tied to serve substandard food. The food is disgusting, dried out, greasy, no selection, it's 12:25 and there only dried out breakfast items remaining alongside some old battered cod and dried out taco meat. I fairly recently had another great AYCE buffet meal at this masterful buffet restaurant located inside the Avi Resort & Casino just outside Laughlin. This one began with a good salad with Bleu Cheese Dressing from Salad Bar fixings, along with a bowl of New England Clam Chowder that was chock-full of seafood. The meal continued apace with unlimited Oysters on the Half Shell, Oysters Rockefeller, and Claims in Red Sauce; and escalated in flavor to nicely scored large Snow Crab legs and claws, both cold and hot, with supplied plastic crab shellers; well-constructed and oozing Chicken Cordon Bleu; very plump and large breaded deep-fried shrimps; and Flambeed Shrimp Scampi with a Lemon Butter Cream Sauce and Linguine freshly prepared at an action station. After eating here on Friday night for their famous crab legs, we decided to come back for brunch and dinner. Yes, we ate here 3 times in a row. I posted the crab leg buffet Friday nights under Avi Casino Buffet, accidentally, but either way, I think the crab legs deserved its own review. Now on to the not so good. Their food for brunch and dinner, not counting Friday's, was pretty horrible. BRUNCH: Where should I start? Their food was either too salty or bland. The French toast and pancakes were cold and tasteless. The menudo and refried beans tasted like it came from a can, which it probably did. The bacon was overly salty. The machaca was dry and too greasy. I did enjoy their coffee, French fries, canned fruit and cottage cheese. DINNER: They offer prime rib and fried shrimp on Saturdays. The prime rib was over done, tasteless and dry. The fried shrimp was okay. I had some pasta with cream sauce and added the chicken from the salad section and that was good. Their mashed potatoes were yummy. Dessert was horrible except for the dessert at the flambé station. You must get dessert from the flambé station. The staff was friendly except for some of the people at the stations. They looked over worked and were quite grumpy. Came here on Sunday of Labor Day weekend with my husband and his Mom. Arrived around 10am, and it was not yet busy. There is a great view onto the water, and the dining room was comfortable. I am not really a fan of seafood, but they had a large quantity of crab legs and jumbo shrimp available. The salad bar was small, but with a nice selection of fresh food. My favorite was the large sliced beets and the cold chicken chunks. My husband went back for seconds with the roast beef, and said that it was really good. Desserts were okay, but not the greatest. Tasted as if they had been purchased frozen and simply placed out for the taking. Nothing about this buffet was great, especially not the price. We had received our 'My Advantage Avi Rewards' card free before we came to the buffet. It just takes a few minutes at the rewards desk, and it offers a small discount that covers 2 people per card. Along with that we got the chance to slide our card and 'win' something for our first time there. Between my husband and I, we got $15 in vouchers that we used for our brunch. That said, with just 3 of us, using all of our cards and the vouchers, the total was $65 before tip. This is great if you like to load up on the crab legs and jumbo shrimp. Me, not so much. They did also offer mimosas, which was pretty nice. So I guess that is what you are paying for on Sunday. The coffee was probably the worst that I have ever had. It was so dark that when I added quite a bit of cream, the color didn't even change. That was crazy. And it had a weird flavor. Our server was nice, and she stopped by many times to make sure that we had everything we needed. I will never come back here for food. I came here with my two kids and my husband we really wanted to try the crab legs but they didn't have them but I tried the prime rib it was delicious. Then I noticed they had shrimp scampi so I decided to get some. The cook Ana she was the one who made the shrimp scampi it was very delicious I noticed that people where ordering ice cream with fruits so once I was done eating I decided to try it out I got the blackberries and strawberries with vanilla ice cream it was delicious. I just want to point out that Ana is an amazing cook and she has excellent customer service she was so kind and sweet and this is what made eating a beautiful experience. Thank you Ana. The price was a little more the top . We started on the crab, was nice , served steamed or chilled over ice , the warm butter was tasteless until I added salt . The Prime rib was good until the server tried to give me dried out cuts , just say no and tell the server what cut you prefer . The frog legs were outstanding , seasoned and breaded very well . The Quiche was great and with respect to the wide variety of treats we had a nice breakfast . They should not serve ( imitation caviar ) . The Champaign could be Cooks brand , that's not what they serve . There could make a few improvements , then $30.00 dollars a person ok . We will return next month , see you then..... read more

The Friday seafood buffet was great; lots of sushi, shrimp, and crabs legs! The hot crab legs were the best! The intake was awful; after standing in line for an hour "Brittany" told me she didn't know how to ring my credit card and that I should just leave! I asked for a manager and "Paul" was great; he apologized and got me rung up and seated! The experience after paying was wonderful lots of options and fast table service to refill soda and clear dirty plates! It was supposed to be shrimp and prime rib day. I didn't really enjoy anything at this buffet. The server was great but just the food wasn't. The shrimp only had fried shrimp and cocktail shrimp. It's meh. I also tried a few other items. Just avoid it. The only thing that was good was the prime rib and the shrimp basically. I wouldn't come back. Let me start by saying, I really don't like buffets. My thought on buffets is if I have to pay for it, they should be able to bring it to my table. On this evening we had planned on eating at the Italian restaurant next door but it was closed on Mondays. The buffet was offering two for one dinners on Monday with your players club card from the casino. If you don't do anything else, make sure you get that to use for discounts. All in all they had some tasty stuff there. Taking me to a buffet is kind of a waste of money as I don't eat that much, however, with the two for one deal it wasn't too bad. I came for the breakfast buffet and managed to also get the lunch one as well. Very good food for the cost, and a dollar off with a player's card. Made to order omelettes with all kinds of meats and two different cheeses. Melons for dessert. Their pecan pie was fabulous. Cookies were great too. Salad bad was good. I liked their French toast with Banana Foster and Strawberry sauce. Plus once lunch came up, they had luscious, juicy, almost fall off the bone beef BBQ ribs! Plus an orange sauce chicken wings. I was soooo full from the omelette (a deal just of itself), that it was hard to get anything else. However, the tacos were great too, with all the fixings. I do not know why there are so many bad reviews, but the food was good. I like that it was not so overwhelming. This is one of the sorriest buffets in the Laughlin area. If you have ever seen the movie National Lampoons Vegas Vacation when Eddie and Clark go to the buffet at the Indian casino, that is about what you're getting here. You can always tell employees really don't like working somewhere when they're absolutely focused on when their next break is. Its especially obvious when they have these conversations in front of their customers. I'm sure it's boring but at least pretend to care. Overall the staff were friendly enough, but nothing spectacular. The food.. once again if meh had a flavor, they would have nailed it. Sunday was taco night and they had one of the sorriest excuses for a taco bar ive ever seen, meh flavor, meh selection. Meh! Everything else was marginally ok, the roast beef was overdone, but slightly improved with au jus. The best part was the dessert bar, but there were cake boxes strewn about behind the soft serve machine which makes it obvious they dont make some or all of the deserts there. Last item was the music.. It seems like they bought a CD of 90's Top Hits from the Billboard Top 40 and just play it on loop. The music, food and decorations really don't go together. Dear Gordon Ramsay: If you are looking for a restaurant to make over for this season of "Kitchen Nightmares" or your new show "Hotel Hell," may I suggest the Native Harvest Buffet at the Avi Resort and Casino? In short, the nightmare was the food and I felt like I got ripped off. So not worth the $32 that I shelled out for three. The soup and salad bar made Hometown Buffet look like Souplantation. The selections on the cold salad side were hip back in the 1970s like ambrosia, something that resembled potato salad and fake bacon bits, aka "fake-on." The soup area had an overly liquid lentil soup and after seeing that I did not dare look at their version of chicken noodle soup. Dirty flavorless, dishwater is how I would describe the lentil soup. They also had menudo and pozole in the Mexican area. Needless to say, there was no flavor in either. On to the entrees, the pot stickers in the Asian area tasted like they were from Costco. The beef chow fun looked like some decomposed corpse from a horror movie and the orange chicken had seen better days. Like maybe in the 1960s. The Mexican station didn't look all that great. I tried the chicken mole and it was liked someone took V-8, mixed cornstarch and dumped onto the overly done chicken. The beef machaca looked like dog food and would be something I would not feed my dog. The only thing that looked edible were the pre-packaged flour tortillas. The only standouts were the fried chicken, the ham and the sage stuffing. The roast beef was dry, tough and gristly. The other standout was the made to order flambe station with vanilla ice cream and the soft serve ice cream which would take a real genius to screw up. Outside of these few items, I thought it wasn't worth $10.99 much less 10 cents. When I found out about the $4.99 fajitas at the nearby Feathers Cafe, I was pissed and felt ripped off. The service at the buffet wasn't all that great either since our waiter spent more time yip yapping with the cashier than checking on the tables. $1.00 tip for you! Do yourself a favor and opt for the specials at the Feathers Cafe instead. read more

This is without a doubt the worst buffet I have ever been to. The food is absolutely disgusting. I was sliced a piece of roast beef that was basically beef jerky. The guy cutting it had to get his weight on top of it to cut it and then his carving fork got stuck. The food is flavorless and extremely over cooked. After chocking down some food I hoped the desert table would save this place but alas it failed as well. The deserts were strangely warm and when I tried for some soft serve it came out as something close to water. I left extremely concerned for my safety as I am pretty sure I will have food poisoning after eating here. We traveled to Laughlin NV in search of a decent buffet. We ended up at the Avi Casino/Resort on the nearby Mojave Reservation. We enjoyed the "two for one" early-bird special. The food was "alright": many ,many,many retirees waiting in line. Salad bar, desert bar, Mexican fajita station, meat carving station, and the "fried chicken/fish/everything-else" station. The kids enjoyed it; the older folks and retirees seemed to really like the place. My wife and I were unimpressed: not many vegetarian or healthy choices. I had the prime rib and spicy fried chicken, the mashed potatoes a roll, some peanut butter cookies, a little salad and a coca-cola. It was alright. read more

For a cheap buffet, THIS is the place to eat. It doesn't even feel like it should be this cheap, but it is and it's good. You should DEFINITELY go for their Champagne Brunch, it is a must try if you are visiting Laughlin. This is only on Sundays though. If you are planning a trip to visit Laughlin from Southern California, then I would recommend coming to visit this buffet in Avi before heading back home. Unless you are going to visit Las Vegas right after Laughlin, you are most likely going to pass this buffet on your way back to SoCal anyways. I say try this at the end of your trip because you will definitely leave back home happy. When you come for the Champagne brunch, you can get as much champagne as you want. I like to mix mine with my orange juice. The buffet is awesome food too! Not every single thing is great, because some of the food can be a little too salty or it is boring food you can get anywhere. But this is a buffet to visit to try the food you don't eat often. First of all, they have caviar. How often can you find that in a buffet? I still haven't. Then they have some of the best crab legs. They're even better than the ones at Cesar's Palace in Las Vegas. No seriously, my boyfriend forgot there was other food available and pretty much stuck to eating crab legs. Next they have escargot. Please tell me another buffet where you can find that? It is so delicious, I would definitely recommend trying it. When I went recently, they had some awesome frog legs too, with a lemony zest flavor, absolutely delicious. If you are used to trying these foods, well lucky you. I grew up in an area where I didn't get to try these foods. So if you are like me, definitely try it and you will love it. The rest of the food is great too. There are a few things that are a bit salty, but the rest of the food is good. They have a good variety of salads, the shrimp and salmon is good. I like eating their eggs benedict, they are so delicious. They have have many other breakfast foods, and meat area for carnivores. Also, an omelette area, you just pick your ingredients and they will cook it for you. Finally the dessert area is HUGE! They didn't have tiramisu, which is quite disappointing, but all the other dessert options are still amazing! Then after you are done eating and you finish your champagne, you can go gamble a little in the Avi casino. They have some good machines, they really update and have new machines often. For the price that you are paying, this is an absolutely great buffet. So flavorful, so much variety, and absolutely delicious. Came here for breakfast. I am so glad that I came here during the 2 for 1 deal otherwise it would not have been worth it. The food was..alright. You get your standard omelettes, sausage, and cereal & other American staples for breakfast, with the addition of some Spanish entrees, salads, and desserts. I had Spanish rice, corned beef, pork and potato chorizo, and an omelette and they were decent. For dessert I had some pudding, yogurt, some straight out of the can mandarin oranges and peaches, and slices of melons. The melons were the best. The yogurt was too sugary. overall for the price of $6.99 per person (Thursdays only) it was good enough. I honestly wouldn't pay more. The food was nothing special. worst buffet in town! Disclaimer: I am not a picky eater so I usually try almost any place and any dish. I try to be fair with my judgements of a place, people or situations. I do, however, asses places on their quality, flavor, presentation and overall standards. I have eaten at very nice places and very questionable ones as well. Sometimes When your hungry, your hungry. And sometimes there may not be a many options. Living in the Area for a year now we have visited and eaten at every casino and several restaurants in the area. That being said my ratings are usually relative to the area in an hour radius. Meaning that the ratings reflect the best and worst in the area not compared to other places. By comparison the AVI is a nicer casino for the area. It's more modern, cleaner and has the best Pool and beach in the Area by far. After visiting here over 20 Times and always enjoying ourselves we decided to try the Buffet since we were already here. It was a Thursday about 7:45 and packed. Very poorly lit, Dim and functionally dark. Upon being seated our hostess seemed put out, to seat us and rushed through the restaurant nearly leaving us behind. For me It was dark, crowded and hard to navigate. She hand placed our silverware on the table as we sat but handled the eating ends of everything as she laid it out. It looked sporty and dirty. The tables were wiped but barely. She seemed more put out to bring us a high chair which was very grimy and broken. The restaurant immediately felt dirty. The buffet was one of the smaller in size compared to others in town. And the selection of food was pitiful. Everything was presented poorly and looked canned and low quality. None of it looked appetizing. My wife and I had one plate each and it was hard to manage to fill or eat those. We hate to waste food so we try to take what we will eat and eat what we take. But after I plate we decided not to have anymore. Most things tasted cheap, flavorless and weak. They did have a fresh made bananas foster but the lady was so gruff that it wasn't worth the trouble to have her make it. A few of the deserts were nice. Bread pudding, chocolate cake and coconut cream pie we're actually quite good. But it was too late. I am normally a 3-4 plate food sampler. I like to eat. I could not muster a 2nd plate or 2nd helping of anything. The one redeeming part was our nice gentleman server. He brought us drinks and refills promptly and was the only pleasant persons we encountered in our dining experience. At $16 dollars per person. This was a total loss. Thee is much better food ant almost any other place around. This has to be one of the worst efforts at food made in Laughlin and by a Casino. to date this is the worst food I have had in this area. Food: meh. My mom and I went on Wednesday, August 8, for the dinner buffet. Neither of us were impressed by the variety of food available. It was mostly Mexican food with a few American options scattered around, and a carving station that offered chicken and roast beef. I like Mexican food but I wasn't really in the mood for that, so it was a little disappointing. That being said, what I DID end up getting on my plate was pretty good. Service: Here is where my 2 star review comes in. If not for the poor service it would have been 3 stars. The cashier and the servers were actually quite friendly, which is a plus. However, the woman at the flambé station, Ana, was not friendly at all. She treated me like I was inconveniencing her to ask for the beef fajitas cooked to order (beef fajitas was one of the options available, so it's not like I was asking for anything special). She grunted at me to ask for my order and then wrenched my plate out of my hands to put the food down on it. Rude. My mom experienced unhelpful service at the dessert station. She wanted to know what sweetener was used for the no sugar added desserts, because she is allergic to certain ones. The woman there just shrugged and said she didn't know, and didn't bother to find out or even look like she cared. This was a great improvement over the last visit. Though it was Sunday night and not advertised as a prime rib night, the beef at the craving station had marbling like prime rib and was tender. The last time here was prime rib night, it was cut 1/8" thick and it was too tough to chew through. This time the beef was cut 1/2" to 3/4" thick, was tender as can be had a great taste. I also tried the fruit flambe, they had a lot of choices, I had bananas and strawberries, they serve it over a scoop of ice cream, very good.
