    Tofu bun and good packing
    Stefi P.

I come here only for the panko tofu bun - they are so crunchy and yummy that I barely try anything else on the menu ever since I discovered these. Even the BBQ chicken buns are tasty but I am biased. The buns cost $5 each and are totally worth it. During Covid-19 you can order ahead and do pick up as well.

The Hot Mix w/ both salmon and tuna. I was able to select 2 bases so that was good!

3.5* Very similar to Basil Box (their neighbour)...but with protein like raw fish and $5 baos. Currently, portions vs. price is quite good. I wrote "currently" because it just opened, so perhaps these things will change after they've gained a bit of popularity. Poke bowls range from $10-13 and taxes in "The Hot Mix" (salmon/tuna poke) was $15 'n change. As a base, you do have a choice of: Spring Mix, Zucchini noodles, quinoa, purple/white rice and I was given the option of selecting 2 of those items. If you're dining in the Food Court, items were placed on a rectangular plate. I found the plate a bit difficult to mix all the items together. A bowl would've been easier! Salmon/tuna was a bit tasteless, but was fresh. Not a terrible or unhealthy option if you hafta dine at "Food Central".

    Bulgogi bowl

Second time having the Bulgogi Bowl. It was equally as delicious and unique from orher places as the first time trying it downtown. You can pick your 3 veggies (red cabbage, beets, kim chi) and 3 garnishes (cilantro, green onion, jalapenos). So good! Highly recommend.

Build your bowl: purple rice, ribeye steak bulgogi, edamame, pineapple salsa, kimchi, crispy onions, sesame seeds, spicy mayo, sweet chili

I tried this new addition to the Square One food court yesterday after seeing it come up on Yelp. Koha Pacific Kitchen has a few dining options that I think would satisfy a range of cravings. The prices range from $5 for baos and about $10-$13 for bowls depending on which one you pick. They have some baos, preset Korean bowl options, preset poke bowls and a build your bowl option. I chose the last option after seeing the size of the baos, which looked like a decent size if I were to get two but it was hard to resist the idea of picking the toppings and sauces that I wanted. I picked purple rice for my base (you can pick 2 kinds if you want), ribeye steak bulgogi for protein, then 3 veggies (edamame, kimchi, pineapple salsa), toppings (sesame seeds, crispy onions, cilantro), as well as spicy mayo and some kind of sweet chili sauce. It was about $13 something including tax for a decent portion. It was presented nicely inside the takeout box and looked really appetizing. Upon taking my first few bites of it, I noticed right away how fresh it all tasted. The different flavours worked well together from the sweet marinade on the bulgogi, to that distinct kimchi flavour, the tanginess of the pineapple salsa, crisp of the onions, to the blend of the sauces. I was definitely happy with my dinner choice! In terms of portion size that you get, I was really hungry so I found that it was enough for me but it may not be filling enough for someone that eats larger portions (ex: hubby dearest). I think that the one con in terms of portions is that Basil Box has the same concept of building your own bowl but their portions are almost double this place's bowl portions for the same price and you can pick more than 3 toppings. Just something to keep in mind for those who consider value when deciding what to eat from the food court. This place is great though if you want something different than some of the other standard food court offerings which was the case with me yesterday evening. The verdict? Worth trying if you're at Square One! I'll definitely be back to try some more of their other offerings.

Ordered the bulgogi Bao -- it was tasty, but over priced considering the portion. The meat was cold, but the toppings were fresh.

Walking in, we were greeted with a smile. The interior of the restaurant was spacious with a private feel since they had areas sectioned off from one another. We ordered the Japchae (5/5), Boneless Yangnyum Galbi (4/5), Pork Belly (4/5). Japchae was delicious with a hint of smokey flavour to it. The noodles were chewy and complemented well with the savoury flavours of bulgogi. The vegetables added a nice crunch to every bite. The mushrooms added a chewy and fun texture to the dish. Boneless Yangnyum Galbi was so tender. Its marinade was on the sweet side which we weren't really a fan of but we still enjoyed the dish. Pork Belly was also tender. It was thinly sliced which was quite a let down since we typically prefer pork belly sliced a bit thicker. The BBQ we ordered came with two bowls of rice and lettuce (non-refillable), ssamjang and sesame oil with black pepper and salt for dipping, and some side dishes that were refillable: kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumbers and sweet potato. The overall quality of the ingredients, especially the meats, were great. It was pretty telling how much the cooks enjoyed prepping and cooking the dishes. This place is on the pricier side which is reasonable for the quality of their food. The portions are also reasonable for their price-points. I'd come back on a special occasion and/or when I'm craving japchae. The servers we had were attentive, checking in every so often to clear our dishes and change our grills.

Service was great, the staff were super kind and really quick to help us out whenever we needed something. It's a little on the pricier side, but honestly that's pretty standard for Korean BBQ, and the quality here makes it worth it. Easily in my top 3 Korean BBQ spots in Mississauga.

Ambiance is casual, interior is clean, and service is fast and attentive. We ordered a couple of dishes and they all came out relatively quickly. The banchan (small side dishes) are refillable once only. My favourite banchan of the day were the bean sprouts and eggplant. There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings, Vegetables Bibimbap, Mushrooms Bibimbap, Vegetables Udon, Vegetables Fried Rice, Kimchi Pancake, Soondubu-jjigae (Soft Tofu Stew) in different variations, and more. The menu was pretty extensive, covering the most typical Korean dishes from the stews and grilled items, to a few Korean-Chinese dishes (such as Jajangmyeon) and everything in between. Steamed Vegetables Dumplings were quite small individually, but came in a sizeable portion. I liked the green onion garnish. Taste-wise, they were alright. Vegetables Bibimbap was excellent - good amount of mixed vegetables (spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot strips, lettuce, bean sprouts) and the fried egg was perfectly crispy on the outer edges, with a still gooey and runny yolk. Grilled Croaker was also decent. It had a lot of small bones as it was a whole fish. It came served with purple rice, and we chose to add on extra lettuce. Seafood Knife Cut Noodles came in a big portion - with lots of slippery, thick udon noodles, pieces of seafood (mussels, clams, squid, shrimps, octopus), and a little big of vegetables (zucchini, carrot, onion). They came in a nice seafood-infused broth - perfect for a cold winter day. I'd come again for the variety of menu items they offer (especially the wide selection of vegetarian options), satisfying tastes, and great & efficient service.

The tofu stew that comes with the set is also super comforting and delicious. Don't skip this! Oh it's also annoying that rice is $3 BUT to be fair, they pack this and one bowl is enough for me. I like that it's not plain white rice either. I pretty much tried every beef option but can't remember them all. However on my most recent visit, we ordered: BEEF TENDERLOIN BEEF RIB FINGER MEAT BEEF BONELESS SHORT RIB BEEF SHORT PLATE My favourite was defs the boneless short rib. I loved the marbling on it and it was easy to eat. The tenderloin took FOREVER to cook, but once cooked, it was tender and meaty. Exactly as described. I wouldn't order the short plate again, as it was a little too fatty. All of this including the rice came up to $131 and split between 3 people it was $43 with tax. So not bad at all and it ends up being around the same price as any AYCE bbq spot. Thats why I don't mind coming here cuz of the quality and sides. Service is also super friendly and they come around often asking if you need anything else. I made resos for a Saturday at 12:30 but it wasn't really needed because the place was only about 1/5 full. And indeed it was. The place was quite crowded but we managed to snag a table in the middle of the restaurant. I quickly looked at the menu, but immediately I was drawn to the Bibimbap ("Comes with rice, vegetables and egg"), mostly because it had been a while since I'd eaten that venerable dish. It arrived fairly quickly after I ordered it and obviously I had to mix all the components together along with a small dish of the included gochujang. And yeah, it totally hit the spot. All the components were way above average and while I could've used a little more spice, I managed to inhale the whole thing in what had to be record time. My dining companion ate the soup for which the place is known and he was pretty much blown away, so it's a safe bet to say I'll be returning if only to try that for myself.

Bossam Set Meal - The set came with bossam, rice and kalguksu which I hadn't tried before. The bossam was so soft and fatty it was perfect paired with the radish and ssamjang in a lettuce wrap. The kalguksu noodles were a comforting side with the clear broth, vegetables and noodles that were long and chewy. I also tasted a bit of the Bulgogi Set Meal that the others ordered and the bulgogi had the classic flavors, savory and a little sweet. An unexpected star of the meal was the side of kimchi that came with this set which was so fresh, crunchy and refreshing. Overall, we loved getting to sample a variety of items from their set meals and would definitely come back for some comforting Korean food.

I've never had a truly bad food/service experience here and in a city where everything is closed by 11 pm, I like that I can always rely on this place for a midnight craving (it's open till 2 am). I think I go back here time and again because this place fills a void in the types of restaurants available in the city. There aren't many late-night sit-down Korean restaurants so I inevitably find myself here. The corn cheese is something I get every time I go here. I really enjoy the salty and sweet combination! I also had the pollack soup for the first time (number 7 on the menu) and thought it was both fishy and spicy, which I really liked. While I certainly don't think you'll be disappointed with the food, I think it's pretty average as far as Korean food goes. I guess the one thing I will say is that I feel like they skimp out on their meat.
