A very busy and popular restaurant, we waited over 30 minutes to get a table on a random Tuesday night at 8:30 pm. Impressive! Much of the menu is what you see at normal Thai restaurants, and the Thai Tapas are just part of the larger menu. Some of them are typical starters (crispy squid, spring rolls, etc) but you can also get smaller portions of curries, mussels, crispy beef, and more. Nice way to try lots of dishes.
The server explained that dishes marked "Very Hot" were as hot as - "Imagine the hottest Indian curry you've ever had. It's hotter than that." Yikes. She said dishes could NOT be made more mild, but they could be made hotter. So if you see something that says "Mild," you can spice it up, but if the dish is described as "Hot," you can't order it mild. We split several dishes between four of us, including the Jungle Curry which was allegedly Very Hot. In the end, it was nothing like that! I mean, it was spicy, and I like spicy food but don't like to have my mouth burned and be unable to taste the rest of my meal. It wasn't anywhere near that hot, so feel free to order across the menu without worrying about heat. We also ordered Pad Thai, Spicy Thai Soup (the hottest thing we ordered, even though it's described as just "Hot" and not "Very Hot," this is a lip-tingler but still you can manage it), and some spring rolls that we could take or leave. The curries were quite nice, I think the best part of the meal.
The atmosphere is trendy and bustling, it is a bit noisy but it's a fun place to have a night out. The Thai food isn't re-inventing the wheel, but it's very well-made. read more
