I had never been to a chiropractor, so I had no idea what to expect. She assessed my neck, told me I was a special case, but could help me, and then proceeded to adjust my neck and spine. Immediately following my first adjustment, I became extremely nauseous and dizzy. She told me it was my body releasing toxins, and that it would resolve in a few days. To be sure, she wanted me to return to her every day that week for an additional adjustment and had me pre-pay for the sessions. After each session, I still felt dizzy...almost like I had just woken up and my neck continued to hurt. My focus was all off and my eyes frequently drifted when trying to focus on something. Not normal...I had never experienced this before her first adjustment. Her prescription? More sessions with her...because I was a "special case." When I called her to tell her that I didn't think her adjustments were helping me and that I was going to stop seeing her, she threatened my decision by saying that "my insurance company may refuse to pay for the sessions if they find out I am going against doctor orders of continued adjustments." She said she could still help me and other doctors won't understand my "special case." That phone call was the end of my relationship with her. It has been almost a year and I am still experiencing the visual distortion and focus-problem affects from her adjustments. Other chiropractors I have talked to said she completely mis-read the causes of my neck pain. She took x-rays of my neck and of my neck only. It turns out the cause of my neck pain was in my lower back...something she didn't even think to explore before she started adjusting me. Other chiropractors were shocked she didn't x-ray my whole back and went right for a neck adjustment. Her operation seems to be based around how much money she can get from patients, and my guess is she didn't x-ray my back because it was expensive for her to explore it. Her staff told me they don't get enough money from the insurance companies for the sessions, and it is probably for this reason why my whole experience at her office felt like I was being duped by a sleazy salesman. In addition to her pre-pay request, after each of my sessions her staff tried to "up-sell" me with a whole bunch of health supplements that had no relevance to my neck. I see she has many good reviews on here, but if I could go back and change one thing about my life in the last year, it would be to never have visited her. She only made my body worse.
