Think about it, someone is twisting, cracking, and pulling on my neck and back, it's just not something to take lightly. I've now lived in California for eight years and I STILL haven't found a chiropractor I trust. That's eight years, zero California chiro appointments. So what do I do, for my aches and pains? I make sure I stop by Dr. Anne Maedke EVERY time I come back to Milwaukee to visit, that's what I do. That should tell you something. I live in Los Angeles, I'm sure there are decent chiro options out here, but Dr. Anne does such fantastic work that I don't even bother. I come back to Milwaukee once or twice a year, why mess with a good thing? She's friendly, genuinely concerned for the health and well being of her patients, flexible when it comes to last minute appointments, has two convenient locations, and most of all she KNOWS HER STUFF. My body has been damaged in all kinds of ways throughout my life, from sitting for years in office chairs to shattering my collarbone and severing muscles, her skilled hands know just what to do to give me the relief and realignment my body so desperately needs. I can't thank her enough, I've never felt better than when I walk out the door after an office visit with Dr. Anne. I remember the very first appointment when I was 20 or so, I literally laughed and giggled in my car all the way back to work due to some surge of euphoric energy and alertness from whatever magic she had done to my stiff neck. The relief was sublime and from that point on, it was a visit every few months at least up until the day I packed up and moved to Cali. Whether you're new to world of chiropractic work or have been getting adjustments for decades, I think you'll find yourself happy with Dr. Anne. I know I certainly am.

My daughter regularly sees a Chiropracter in another city and strongly suggested I go. I had heard many good things from the neighborhood about Anne Maedke's practice so seemed like the perfect time to try it. I was greatly impressed with the degree of personal attention I was given. I was fully evaluated and seemed that my problem was not my neck but an old rotator cuff injury that did not adequately been corrected. I have now had two treatments and feel significantly better not just in my neck but the movement of my shoulder is much improved. As was a bit fearful of getting my spine manipulated but was put completely at ease and in the end found the experience very supportive, comforting and positive. Would definitely recommend Dr. Anne to anyone wanting a positive, productive experience.

Acupuncture is fab-u-lous! Yep. I'm wimpy and hate needles. But no itchy itch afterwards. Acupuncture needles are not pointy or hollow and are about as thin as a strand of hair. See, mosquito sized. And you're a Wisconsinite, gosh darn it you are well experienced with mosquitoes! So no need to be worried about needles. If I can do it anyone can, just ask my accupuncture practitioner. Milwaukee Community Acupuncture operates on a pay what you can fee structure, with a fee scale ranging from $15-40 a treatment. They also have punch cards. Dude. Dude, I love punch cards. Pay for 10 treatments and get 11 sessions. Yep. There is complementary Rishi tea. Yep. The setting itself is incredibly relaxing. Soft music, white noise machines, plants. No exam tables, but recliners and blankets. Even little eye mask pillow thingies. Acupuncture here is done in one large space. You'll stay clothed. Take your shoes and socks off, roll your pants up a few inches and have your arms accessable. No peep shows going on here. They just put all these needles in me, now what? You'll get really relaxed. Some people fall asleep. Your worries become lighter and distant. You'll get to rest for around 40-60 minutes. I suggest that you come in for accupuncture when you're not pressed for time as you'll get much more relaxed. They offer easy online scheduling and have appointments seven days a week and evening appointments during the weekdays. Maybe you're having a bad day like I did today, then you can just hop online and schedule a same day appointment which are often easily available. Acupuncture etiquette: Speak softly throughout the space so as to allow for a restful environment. Refrain from wearing strong smelling perfumes etc so as to allow for a restful environment. Milwaukee Community Acupuncture also has many other health services onsite including yoga, massage, reiki, chiropractic, cupping, and more. Many of these services are also on a sliding fee scale. Affordable yoga! I love Milwaukee Community Acupuncture.
