I arrived early as instructed to fill out their waiver, however another class was in session and there was no one at the front desk. I'm not sure if this is how it normally is. When their class ended the instructor had me fill out your typical safety waiver. Instructor was nice, friendly, and attentive which I appreciated because I'm new to Pilates and their equipment. She was very helpful in guiding the class but also walking around the room and assisting as needed. It was such a great, effective, low impact workout. The space felt clean. There are cubbies in the front where you leave your stuff and shoes. I was told there were cubbies in the back room if preferred. They are located in a shopping plaza on Jefferson with a parking lot. I recommend bringing pilates/yoga grip socks but I noticed some people were barefoot. They have socks and apparel for sale. Would recommend and would go back.

We joined post pandemic shut down, so there are a lot of extra machines because they had to close a few clubs last year. Because of only outdoor workouts for part of 2020, they use these extra machines outside. They happen to be staged around the pool. Regardless of all the extra equipment on the deck, it is really inviting! Most of the chairs and tables are put up because the machines are there, but for some reason I feel like it is still a place you could hang out. The furniture that is there is comfortable. Most people that come to the gym want to use the machines and the weights. The pool is not necessarily booked to where you feel crowded. Reservations are required still, but it's not difficult to make a reservation. We have worked out during the day and at night. It's really lovely at sunset. Have not used the indoor pool. We joke and say we are going to "the club" because after our swim, sometimes we take a dip in the hot tub, the steam room or the sauna. But to top it all off we always grab a massage chair. Staff is friendly, very clean, open and airy, new. All in all, I love going there.

One needs to be in tune with crowd patterns, otherwise you can kiss off getting your workout done in a timely, focused manner. I don't think there's a cap on number of memberships. Channel receptivity on the treadmills can be hit and miss. Frustrating! I consistently see certain machines (weight) used to simply "park it," get on one's cell...for sometimes extended periods of time. Aforementioned issues have been shared in person and via membership APP, but strategies to resolve/reduce are still not in place. Gym isn't my home; I have one. Given cost of living in Napa, including inflation, I find demographic make-up interesting including timing of their usage. Before you join, see if you can get some passes. Go during crowded times--that way you'll get the full picture. I can now see why there's a movement toward more personalized, specialized gyms--it's tempting. Parking is okay.

I've been a member here for the past 2 years. I'm moving now and have to switch gyms, so I thought…read moreI'd share what I like about this place before I go. My experience with Fitness 19 AC has been well! I've gained some muscle, enhanced my workout routines, and even gotten to know some people along the way. This gym offers a great amount of equipment: squat racks, benches, tons of dumbbells, a green, and lots of machines (pec fly, cable, Smith, etc). When some of the more popular items are taken, I can usually pivot to an alternative device to prevent losing time. Their equipment is mostly well-maintained, with machines getting fixed quickly after being down. The staff working here, for the most part, are friendly and helpful. I've never been trained by them, but everyone I see with a trainer usually has a smile on their face. I never had any issues with staff members and even got to know some of them by name. I was able to lock in a decent rate with Fitness 19, and their price to value ratio will probably never be beaten. There were basically no hidden fees, just sign up and pay month to month. Frankly, I've been spoiled, and the process of signing up for a new gym will be painful because there is so much nonsense out there! Cancelling was easy too, granted that I had been attending for over a year. I met many people there, and usually if you attend regularly (which you should if you're trying to improve), you'll see the same people over and over again. This is a great place if you want to foster relationships with gym homies. Every gym goer I spoke with here was super friendly, even the gargantuan guys who bench 300+. If I had to critique one thing about this location, it would be sanitation. I'm a clean freak, so perhaps I'm biased, but I wish their [men's] restrooms smelled better (lots of protein powder and pre workout lol). That, and their drinking fountain water tastes off to me (may want to see if there is a filter to check or something like that); there is also calcium deposits around the mouth pieces too. These factors didn't stop me from enjoying my time at Fitness 19, however, if they were mitigated, I would have enjoyed it all the more. Overall, I'd check this place out if you're looking to improve health and fitness for a great price! I'm no longer in the area, but I can say that Fitness 19 AC played a big part in my life. Thanks, guys. Tl:dr Pros: - Decent amount of equipment - Friendly staff - Excellent value, price-wise - Good and friendly gym culture Cons: - Sanitation - Long wait times for popular equipment

I've been going to this gym for the past few years- it's got a lot of pros, but some serious cons…read morethat are making me consider cancelling my membership and trying out another gym altogether... Let's start with the pros. PROS: super reasonable pricing, especially for everything you get. Friendly & helpful staff. Love that they have a turf area as well as a studio/ mirrored area for classes, and it's good extra floor space when classes aren't in session. Nice that they have a sauna, red light therapy, tanning booth, hydromassage, and IN Body scan available. Good range of equipment/ plate loaded machines, squat racks, cardio machines, TRX, you name it. CONS: Here's what's making me reconsider my membership... the bathroom cleanliness is pretty unbearable. It's always been pretty dirty but I've been able to suck it up and tolerate it. Within the past month, I've started to notice black mold in the showers (unmistakably- it's fuzzy and everything), moldy and smelly shower curtains, wads of hair that don't get moved for weeks (indicating they're clearly not cleaning), and yesterday there were little black bugs on the shower floors that sort of looked like small black silverfish? The mats outside of the showers finally got cleaned a couple months ago, but they're starting to get that soapy/ moldy build up again. The sauna floor is extremely dirty as well and I'm not sure how often they clean it... makes me worry what we're breathing in. They also don't have any recycling bins despite California law and all of the cans and plastic they accumulate. :( These concerns have been brought up internally numerous times by many members of the gym and nothing seems to be improving. I'm super bummed because I otherwise love the gym, but I just need to keep my health and safety in mind. I shower here every morning before work and I don't want to be breathing in black mold... Hope they do something soon- it's a serious health code violation at this point.

Yes these are trainers, BUT they make working out a competition between everyone in the class, they make you GO FAST which is NOT how someone should work out unless you want to get hurt. In the class I noticed a lot of people have very POOR form, rounded back, lifting too heavy for themselves, not taking their time to really get good form in. I've heard other people in class say they were sore for 5 days, that's not good. You are pushing people too hard that are just getting in and they will hurt themselves! The first class a trainer will typically evaluate you, ask you if you have any injuries , and weakness, and pain, none of this was done my first day which would make it very easy for someone to hurt themselves. Not to mention there's no stretching before or after? I don't trust these guys, for the amount your paying. (175$ monthly) they should really be focusing on being a trainer and the form of people paying them. You sign a full disclosure if you hurt urself it's not their fault.... if you're paying this much.. I would recommend getting a trainer from a gym. No one in this class is super fit besides the trainers and that should tell you something ...

I was told not to worry & to return when I could. There is a difference between being technically right & doing what is right. I stand by my review. UPDATE & Response to Business Comment: I am genuinely sorry that my medical recovery seems to have been an inconvenience for this business. When someone is recovering from two major surgeries, it is entirely reasonable to rely on the reassurance given by staff. In my case, "don't worry, just come back when you can." Expecting a patient in that situation to independently review contract fine print, especially when no one ever requested documentation or explained the process, is unrealistic and shows a lack of compassion. Their response reinforces my concern that the priority here was not supporting a customer facing medical hardship, but rigidly defending a policy at the expense of basic human decency. Stretch Zone's response actually confirms the concerns I raised. At no point did anyone ever request medical documentation from me. Instead, I was explicitly told not to worry and to return when I was medically able. It is unreasonable to expect a patient recovering from two major surgeries to comb through contract fine print when the business itself assures them that the medical exception applies. Their statement that I "never submitted documentation" leaves out the fact that they never asked for any. A medical exception cannot be "formally requested" if the business fails to inform the customer of the process or the need for documentation. I communicated my medical situation in advance, attempted to stop by the studio multiple times during business hours (no one was there), and relied on the guidance I was given by their own staff. Their response also makes it clear that they are more committed to rigidly defending their position than to doing what is fair or compassionate. When a customer is dealing with significant medical circumstances, a business that truly values people would show flexibility, especially when the law requires it. Instead, Stretch Zone chose to focus on technicalities and timelines rather than acknowledging their own role in the breakdown of communication. In short, their reply proves my point: the priority here was not customer care, but protecting revenue. That is not the kind of business I can recommend. ORIGINAL REVIEW: ZERO stars. Avoid this business at all costs. Dallas was the only positive part of my experience. He was consistently kind and professional, and none of my criticism is directed at him. Unfortunately, the management and business practices behind StretchZone tell a very different story. I had two major surgeries and was physically unable to use my remaining sessions. I notified their staff in advance and was explicitly told not to worry and to return when I could. Their own contract clearly states that medical situations qualify for an exception to the 90 day expiration. Despite this, StretchZone refused to honor the medical exception written directly into their agreement. They never requested medical documentation at any point, yet later claimed it was required. Had they asked, I would have provided it immediately. Instead, they chose to interpret their policy in the most rigid and self serving way possible. What was most concerning was the tone of their final response, which ended with: "We consider this matter closed and will not be engaging in further correspondence regarding this request." For a customer in my situation, this abrupt dismissal was extremely unprofessional and showed a complete lack of basic customer service, empathy, or willingness to resolve a legitimate concern. California's Health Studio Services Contract Law exists specifically to protect consumers in situations like mine. Under Civil Code §§ 1812.80-1812.98, customers who become medically unable to use services are entitled to cancel and receive a refund for unused portions once a physician verifies the disability. I was temporarily disabled and unable to use the sessions through no fault of my own. StretchZone knew this and still refused to make any adjustment to my membership timeline or offer a refund. This experience made it clear that once they have your money, they enforce policies selectively, ignore the spirit of their own contract, disregard consumer protections, and shut down communication rather than working with customers in good faith. They chose to be "right" on paper instead of doing what was right in practice. I strongly warn anyone considering this business to think twice. What appears to be a friendly wellness service on the surface is, in my experience, backed by rigid, questionable, and unfair business practices. Bottom line: I gave them the opportunity to do the right thing, and they chose not to. StretchZone - do better.
