I have used Knox dermatology for medical purposes with mostly acceptable outcomes. I had one in office excision that they did not get clear margins on and had to let it heal and go to a Mohs surgeon and get cut on again. I'm not necessarily saying anything bad about that, I do understand that they can't physically see where the margins are but I have had a successful in office excision at another doctors office. My problem with this office is when I decided to get laser hair removal in an attempt to reduce the amount of ingrown / infected hairs. I am fairly light complected with mostly thick dark hair so from what most say that should have the best outcome. Keep in mind that we are talking about a $5000+ package that they require payment upfront for all six sessions before starting the first. At the first session they tell me they can't laser over tattoos, this was something that was never brought up during the required consultation that I paid for. After the first session I had a massive outbreak of rash / ingrown hairs that took about 4 weeks to mostly heal up. I did contact the office and Dr. Wooming did contact me after hours and asked for some pictures. I was told that this procedure didn't normally cause this however he did prescribe a few medications to try. I continued to have issues after each session and just took it as part of the process however I had to take antibiotics pretty much every time to get it to mostly clear up in 4 weeks. going into the 4th session there was still a substantial amount of hair growth and extremely patchy that I questioned. As someone that spends a tremendous amount of time in the gym trying to stay in shape being broken out for weeks at a time and by this point looking like a mangy dog was killing my self esteem. I was told that was normal. After the 6th final session Dr. Wooming was standing in the hall and said that there may be a few stragglers, give it until a few months and see how it was going and I could at my description come back for another session if I wanted. Mind you this would be at an additional cost over the 5 + thousand he had already been paid. A month past the last session a few stragglers is an absurd exaggeration, a few thousand stragglers is more like it and coming back in patches with more growth by the day. Who knows what this is going to turn into in the long run. While they claim the laser doesn't cause hairs to turn white I had very few white / grey hair in the treated areas before now I have a lot and even more ingrown hair issues than before this was started. Unfortunately now the white hair cannot be removed with a laser and will require electrolysis if I want them removed. I will I'm sure they will hide behind the document you have to sign before treatment basically saying they aren't responsible for anything I will not return. I absolutely do not recommend their laser hair removal services as it appears that I spent months broken out and over five thousand dollars for nothing. Maybe your results would be different but I can't say that I would risk it if you want my opinion. Their staff is friendly, I do dislike the fact that I feel like I need to share my experience but to me this is a big deal. read more

I had such a great experience at Knox dermatology. I went in because I was feeling a bit old and my skin didn't have the vibrancy I needed. Dr. Wooming and Glorie recommended BELLAFILL for my temple area with doing micro-needling on my face and neck. I had the filler done already and only after one week, I look so much better#feelingyounger Their follow-up was very thorough. I had a bit of a headache and swelling which is very normal for what I had done. My Bellafill was done on a Friday. Dr. Wooming called me himself that night and several times on Saturday (his off time ) to make sure I am well and taken care of. I am very happy and grateful for him and his team. I have to share a terrible experience from a treatment I received at Knox Dermatology on Travis St in Dallas. I went to Dr. Wooming's office because I had been going there for years and I trusted him. I went in for an IPL (Intense Pulse Laser) on my face, and I didn't see any results after the treatment. I let the office know and Dr. Wooming said I could have another IPL at half price so I made an appointment. When I went in for my appointment Dr. Wooming recommended Virtue RF instead of the half price IPL I was scheduled for. After listening to the benefits he described, I agreed to Virtue RF even though it was 4 or 5 times higher than the treatment I planned on. While getting the Virtue RF, Dr. Wooming entered the treatment room, asked how it was going and then told the tech to turn it up. After care instructions were to stay out of the sun and apply the rest of the serum (that was left over from the treatment) which I followed. The next evening (Saturday 4/30, 2022) my face started getting really red and raw similar to a sunburn. Even though I applied ice packs to try to stop the burning it got worse overnight, and my face had severe burns and needle abrasion marks all over. I called the office first thing Monday morning and told them about it. They said I could come in if I felt it was necessary, and I definitely did think it was. When I went to his office he made a very disturbing remark - "well you wanted results". It was as though he wanted to make me feel like it was my fault that my face was burned, that I asked for it. Here I was, coming to him for help, feeling horrible, stressed out, and in pain and he felt the need to say that? Dr. Wooming gave me samples from his office to apply, and he sent me on my way out the back door so his patients waiting wouldn't see me. It was so bad, it hurt and I looked horrible. I was so worried my face would be scarred for life and I do have scars and discoloration on my face from that horrible day. Even now, a year and a half later, after multiple visits and following all the instructions I received from his office. My goal was to get safe skin treatments to help with lines and sun damage, I wanted my skin to look as good as possible for my age (64). After thousands of dollars spent in his office and following all instructions for the last 1.5 years, I look five to ten years older than before the "treatment" and I have many pictures to prove it. During a follow up visit Dr. Wooming did say that this should not have happened (which I obviously knew). Just wanted to share my experience to make others think twice before having a treatment like this. I wish I had NEVER had it. read more

I love Dr. Wooming. They are great about getting to see me in on a short notice when I'm home from school, which is awesome. Usually they are very good about getting you in and getting you seen by a doctor quickly, although I have occasionally had to wait. The best part about Dr. Wooming is that I feel like he really listens to your concerns and what you want. If I feel like a medication isn't working the way I want it to, he will always offer up a different suggestion, instead of just pushing it on you. Took my teenage son to Dr. Wooming for periungal warts on his hands. Dr. Wooming treated with cryo, which my son found pretty painful but sucked it up even though he cried. We were told to return in a week for a follow up visit, "just to get a visual and check that he is healing". Paid several hundred dollars out of pocket, despite insurance for this visit. By the second visit, (the simple "look-see") They wanted about $200 more. For what? I've never heard of payment to check on healing for a follow up visit with no actual procedure performed. But not only did they want it, they wanted it UP FRONT before we were seen. So I paid. Only after waiting for ALMOST TWO HOURS in the waiting room did I understand why they wanted payment up front - they want to hold you hostage because they know the wait will be long. I suppose the idea is if they already have your money, you're less likely to walk out. Still, two hours wait just to say "Yep, looks like he is healing" was too much for me, plus the added fee on top of my insurance. I finally got fed up, demanded they refund me so I could walk out and we did. When I finally got our claim papers from the insurance in the mail I saw he really gouged them too when he billed them. In the end, the treatment was not successful, either. Even if he was a fantastic doctor and didn't overcharge, his wait times are completely unacceptable and excessive. read more

Dr Wooming is the absolute best! In 2014 my husband had psoriasis so bad all over his body. Not only did Dr Wooming clear up the psoriasis, he saved his life. I'm very unhappy with Dr George A Wooming. I went in for treatment for stretch marks on my legs and he convinced me that i needed to get a biopsy that I didn't need and left ultimately left an ugly scar. He said that he didn't know what the condition was and over the course of several weeks he gave me several creams which ultimately burned my skin, left dark marks and left me worse off than when I went in. I'd also like to add that these creams cost hundreds of dollars. When I complained about it in my last visits he didn't accept accountability and blamed it on this "unknown condition." It was clearly the creams that he prescribed was what burned my skin and was confirmed by another dermatologist. It was also the opinion of the second dermatologist that I had textbook stretchmarks and shouldn't have required a biopsy. I believe Dr George A Wooming prescribed these expensive creams to make a commission knowing my insurance would cover most of the cost and as a testbed for his experiments. I don't recommend him to anyone and am in the process of pursuing some type of recourse. read more

I had three different issues with my face near or around my eyes, a basal cell carcinoma being the most serious. Dr. Wooming addressed these problems with the utmost professionalism, taking great care to insure my comfort. He was very interested in the quality of the results and was genuinely concerned with my opinion of my appearance as well. From the initial visit to follow ups he and his staff exhibited the highest levels of professionalism, all done in a very friendly down to earth manner. My sons have been to see Dr. Wooming 3 times in the past 4 months, and we will not go back. The first appointment was with one son for acne at 2pm. The dr kept us waiting 45 minutes in the room before I went out to the nurse to see what was going on. After an hour, the dr rushed in, spent 5 minutes on my son, and rushed out. The second time was to remove a wart on my son's elbow at 10 am. The dr kept us waiting an hour and 15 minutes before he came in. He did spend an appropriate amount of time, did a procedure, and sent us on our way. The follow up appointment for the wart at 8:30 in the morning he kept us waiting 25 minutes in the room, then gave us the 4 minute once over and ran out. I felt the procedure was thorough and well done, but the acne and follow up appointments were rushed. I don't recommend Dr. Wooming if you expect a doctor to respect your time, and spend an appropriate amount of time on you. We have seen him in both the Sunnyvale and Dallas offices. Neither one was remotely on time. read more

I went to Dr Wooming in 2013 for clearing my skin of some spots left from acne. He suggested a chemical peel saying its light and it will sure help. But help it didnt, it made my skin burn in couple of days of peel and left deep scars around my eyes. The scars are still visible but for next 3 years I have had worst experience. In couple of months after his " treatment", people would inquire if I got into a boxing fight. Thats how bad my scars around eyes looked. Since I moved away from Dallas, I called him several times and the nurses would give me a casual response. Dr Wooming after long followup process, eventually answered and totally washed off his hands, saying it could be genetic that I have such scarrring. Well for 33 yrs of my life, I never had anything genetic create my skin this kind of scarring and suddenly he had an epiphany. Well I would never recommend him , on the other hand, he is someone one should go on their own risk. Since I work as an actor and this has cost me plenty of opportunities and mental trauma, I am looking into a legal suit against his practice. read more

DO NOT trust Wooming's diagnosis or lack there of. He talks fast & you are in & out quick after waiting too long to see him. I would suggest you seek out a second opinion. I walked out of his office on 03-08-16 without a diagnosis after visiting twice for the same issue. He used his bare eyes to look @ me each time & never touched me. After my second visit I received a new sample that would possibly work & if did not he would perform a biopsy in three weeks. I walked out & went to my car and searched for another dermatologist to visit. I went for a second opinion later the same day. Unfortunately, the second diagnosis I received from Dr. Tuveson in Garland wasn't right either. After a couple of visits to her office & symptoms not getting better, I went to UT Southwestern Dermatology. I recommend UT! The staff is top notch. After all, my lab results showed the rash on my body was caused by some type of medicine I have taken. I got two prescriptions & I am better! read more

Grateful, pleased patient. Referred to Dr. Wooming by primary care doctor. Needed definite diagnosis and treatment for critical, severe infection of foot and leg. I had never been so sick in my life. Dr. Wooming saw me right away, immediately and correctly diagnosed and began five weeks of visits and treatment. Improvement was immediate but total recovery necessarily took over a month. Dr. Wooming was competent, reassuring, approachable and understanding. He was flexible with followup visits because of my erratic work schedule. He facilitated an emergency visit when I feared a recurrence and it was a false alarm. Because I found such a degree of illness very anxiety provoking I was a bit late for some of the visits. Dr. Wooming and his staff never criticized. Eventually I discussed my anxiety and lateness with his nurse and she offered me very helpful advice on my general problem.
