We recently from California to Georgia, and bought a house that needed some work along with exterior landscaping; during our home inspection, it was suggested I remove quite a few large trees surrounding our property either because they have started to die or have begun leaning towards the house. I chose 5 companies based on high ratings and reviews from multiple sites (Google, Yelp, HomeAdvisor, NextDoor) and received estimates that had a wide range in price/cost. BTW- the scope of work was tree cutting and stump grinding. Here's why I decided to go with KnowTrees: 1. This company had the most consistent highest ratings across all of the sites. Many of the reviews were recent and from a wide range of individuals. BTW - YELP is hiding many of the 5 star review from many other customers. If you scroll to the bottom of the review, you can see the hidden reviews. 2. The owner, Matthew, is fantastic. 3. Most importantly to me.....the PRICE. His bid was very competitive and reasonable. Here's why I'm glad I used KnowTrees: 1. Great communication leading up to the work. 2. The crew very professional. 3. The work was done efficiently and carefully. 4. Clean up was fab. My next door neighbor was so pleased with the work they did (he was watching them from his porch) he wanted their contact info. I plan on using KnowTrees as our primary tree expert. After several back and forth text messages to scheduled an appointment for a quote, Knowtree was a no show. I was told at 10am that I would be receiving a call an hour before they would arrive. When I didn't get a call, around 3pm I decided to text and let them know my cut off time for someone to come out and be here was 5pm. I had other things to do and it starts getting dark soon after 5pm. We wouldn't have been able to see a thing if it was dark. Since I was told I would be receiving a call an hour before they arrive, I decided to text and cancel the appointment at 4pm. I never received an email, a text or a call explaining what happened. I'm glad I know who they are before hiring and spending hundreds of dollars with an unreliable company. read more

Matthew and his crew are truly "a cut above". I had been attempting to get someone out to take care of a couple of broken and precariously hanging limbs at a rental property since the remnants of hurricane Irma passed through. Calls to at least half a dozen well-regarded tree service providers in the area resulted in nothing more than wasted time. Only three companies bothered to even go look at and price the job and, of those three, only one of those would return my calls to setup a time to get the work done. The one that finally followed-through was KnowTrees! Matthew was courteous and professional throughout the process and on top of everything else, he even gave me the best price on all of the work I needed done. In addition to the rental home project, I had him take care of another tree at my personal home and will have him back to clear a number of much larger poplars in the back yard shortly. Their quote was the best I received, and I had the highest confidence in what they recommended. They completed the removal of two trees in a timely manner, and cleaned up well. Best of all, they operate with great integrity. One of the guys accidentally hit & damaged my mailbox. They immediately came to my door to explain what happened. His quote process was professional and timely even though Atlanta was in the midst of the hurricane clean up. His team got out to my house in less than a week from my go ahead. The work they did was fantastic...taking trees down without any issue and leaving no trace of the tree removal aside from a very small stump.
