Simply put, Robert has the experience and skill to make all my aches and pains go away, including some that were lingering for months until I started working with him. For me, it's all about a well "choreographed" deep tissue massage, and after trying a few of Robert's cohorts around town I settled with him after only our first sessions. It was clear from the onset that he knows what he's doing and understands how to give a true deep tissue/sports massage. In addition to his experience/skills Robert also listens very well, which means he can modify each of our sessions to take care of whatever issues I have going on at that point in time. Just great to know that I have a massage therapist I can go to who I can trust and count on.

I have found his practice to be not only soothing and corrective, but also quite enlightening and I've learned a lot about how my body's systems interact with each other . I regularly end up getting an extra 10 or 15 minutes of work done, because he wants to be sure everything is balanced and aligned , and at no point have I ever felt like he was rushing to get me out the door. I should also say that on the artication I have needed to reschedule he's been gracious and accommodating , in addition to this , on at least two occasions he was willing to reschedule on very short notice! I can no longer recommend Eligio…read more As someone substantially disabled in a car accident just before Covid and with long covid I had decided to stay with Eligio as a provider even tho things weren't always smooth because for a time i thought it would be hard to find someone new. That's my bad. In the last year however Eligio's work, manner and ability to keep agreements has substantially declined even with consistent communication including phone, texts and in person communication that included several rounds of agreement making. Before this last year the issues were: he always pulled my hair when he worked on my head and neck and made a joke about the "hair pulling part of the session." Which is not just not funny, he knows he's hurting me but never upped his skills to stop. For years. That actually should have been enough to stop working with him. He'd be casually late for quite awhile until i insisted he notify me before the start of our session time. He never learned to calibrate to my needs had to constantly be reminded to not push too hard on my feet and back and not tork/tear my knees when raising my legs. This should have been a deal breaker given how long it went on. We did out calls to my home and he had to be reminded of basically everything including putting the toilet seat down in our bathroom. (I'm disabled and bending over is hard. I literally asked him 12 times to put it down before he remembered once on his own.) people are imperfect and I try to be forgiving and communicative. He did not put the room back in order after use. He moved all kinds of things and frequently did nothing to clean up post session. Annoying but not a deal breaker. Like I said he's just not paying attention. Over the past year several things have happened that made us decide that we cannot work with him any more. Eligio injured my back. Repeatedly He has always required feedback to keep him from using too much pressure or not torking my knees. But in the last year he made things demonstrably worse many, many times. And generally took no responsibility for that impact . Now I realize that's because he's just not able to attune to sensitive needs unless constantly directed. In other words: his sessions are not relaxing because he has a tendency to accidentally and repeatedly injure me. At least a third of the sessions for the last year he hurt me and I had significantly more pain when standing after a session. If I fall asleep in a session, he reliably injures my back. Every time. When I woke up in pain and asked him to fix it, he charged for that time having never mentioned it to me or asked for consent or created clarification. Which is code for he: he hurt me and overcharged me and then was pissed when I asked him about it. His response? He's short on cash and he worked over the session time. I talked to him and put my feedback in writing to him. We made new agreements that included getting consent for additional fees in the moment and stopping sessions if I fall asleep. His major concern of stopping a session if I fall asleep was "will I get paid?" Given that we paid on time every time, that was wild And utterly self serving. The final deal breaker was weaponizing my diagnosis against me instead of taking ownership of his decisions. He is someone who has a hard time taking responsibility for his impact. I cannot recommend him. Especially if you have pain.

He thoughtfully listens to your perception of your physical health and observes your body mechanics to plan a session tailored to where you are at in the moment and where you want to be in the long term. This targeted approach has kept my body in balance and improved my day to day. Noam is also just a genuinely great human, which makes every session a richer experience overall. Starting off with spritz of some nicely scented oils and relaxing music, he focused the majority of the time on my sore spots on my shoulders and neck. He does a good job checking in on pressure and comfort. He has lots of energy and knows how to get into the knots. He also does this cool arm massage too. Feels like he has 10 hands! I first came to Mike when I was out of work on disability because of disc issues in my neck causing severe pain and numbness all the way down my arms to my fingers. For months, I had been getting weekly physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture treatments, and taking a bunch of pain and inflammation meds but was still a wreck. And dead set against surgery which nearly everyone was pushing at that point. Mike had been recommended and although I was skeptical massage could do anything for my condition all that other stuff hadn't, I figured I didn't have anything to lose. I cancelled my first appt because I was having a particularly bad neuropathy flare-up and was terrified I'd be in too much pain to even lay on the table or be touched. Mike kindly assured me that I had nothing to fear and that with appropriate props for support, he was sure he could make me comfortable and help me heal. I rescheduled and I'm so glad I did because he was right. A few sessions in, I was able to stop my pain meds! Not long after that, I returned to work part time. And then full time. And now with regular appointments, plus the self-care Mike teaches and is such a strong advocate for, I stay feeling better than I ever have.
