South Liverpool Taxis is a reliable taxi service within Liverpool, they have one of the largest…read morefleet of cars, meaning that they are usually able to get you a cab within a reasonable amount of time. They are particularly useful if you're in need of a taxi from Liverpool John Lennon Airport as they're located just a few yards away. The service is available 24/7.The company also have a private VIP fleet of cars for executive use, they can provide Mercedes, Ford and Fiat people carriers. If you're planning a journey in advance, I suggest checking out the website because they have a pretty accurate fare calculator so you know if you're getting ripped off or not!

At 11:30pm I rang to tell them I would be slightly late and asked them to pass the message on to the driver. I arrived at the pick up point at 12:05am and rang to tell the firm I was there. They said they would pass the message on to the driver. At 12:20am I rang to check the size of the cab and spoke to the office. At 12:45am, 55 minutes after the pick up time, I rang to see where the cab was and was told it wasn't coming. To reiterate: this was the fourth time I had rung them in an hour and I had booked the cab 10 days in advance. I was stranded in a residential part of Manchester in the early hours of the morning. The firm said they would send another cab but it would take 40 minutes to get to me. Instead, I managed to persuade a black cab driver to take me home for £120 (instead of the £75 SLT said they'd charge). I feel disgracefully treated by South Liverpool taxis and will never use them again. I would leave them a zero star rating if that were possible.

Phoenix Cabs

Let me tell you about Phoenix Cabs…read more Recently, my girlfriends and I made the trip out to Liverpool. We'd never been before, didn't quite know what to expect. as luck would have it, the flat we had rented was a few miles outside of the city center - far enough that it wasn't too expensive for a cab, but too far to walk. We found Phoenix Cabs through Yelp and boy, did we get lucky. The driver was prompt, the cab was clean, and it was the cheapest cab we'd taken in our whole time in England. We saved the phone number and proceeded to use them any time we needed a taxi and they were available. We were in Liverpool for just over two weeks, so you can imagine - that's a lot of cabs. Granted, they are a smaller company so busy nights can be a little harder, but if you just need a cab to get somewhere, they're the best. A couple things stood out to us, though. A driver we had often, John (or Jon, never was sure of the spelling), knew we were out there to see LFC play. We'd talk about the team with him in the cab and we mentioned we didn't have tickets to the last home game of the season. We were going to Dublin for a few days so naturally we called Phoenix for a ride to the airport. John/Jon picked us up and proceeded to get on the radio and ask the other drivers if they knew of any spare tickets to the game that weekend when we got back. Super nice, didn't have to do that. We were touched. On the drive to the airport, he pointed out some houses of former players and then asked if we had some time to stop. He pulls over and we look out the window - he's stopped at Strawberry Fields. Just enough time for us to get a quick picture in front before we were on the road again. And then he stops again - this time outside John Lennon's childhood home. We didn't have to ask, we had time for our flight, but it was the nicest gesture, giving us a chance to visit two landmarks we hadn't had a chance to yet. When we returned from Dublin, we ended up taking another Phoenix Cab to the city center. John picked us up again and drove us in. He told us on the ride down that while we were in Dublin (for about four days) he asked all the drivers and asked around if anyone had tickets to this game for us. He came up short, as we expected, but the fact that he asked around and tried for us while we were gone was the cherry on the ice cream for us. On our last day in Liverpool, a driver picked us up and got on the radio to tell the others that "The American girls" were leaving and they all got on and wishes us well and safe travels home. It was so touching I teared up a little bit. They were just fantastic drivers, all around, and we were lucky to have found them So if you're in Liverpool and need a cab, call them up. They made our trip that much more worth it and I know we'll be calling them as soon as we get back.

Good Old Delta. So much better than a Black Cab, they're kind of like your mum, always there for…read moreyou and a 24 hour taxi service. I don't have a bad word to say about them! They have call-back so there's none of that irritating business of having missed the cab when you were touching up your make-up. It's also ridiculously cheap, reliable and quick. If it's not peak time you can expect one at your door in under 10 mins and generally there's quite a difference in price from Delta to a Black Cab- oh how I love prices measured by distance and not time! You don't find yourself cursing every red light and wrong turn anyway! It's best to call ahead of time if it's a Friday or Saturday night and you have somewhere important to be but that's standard for any taxi company really. So next time you don't want to get ripped off in the town centre, Get a Delta!

Delta Taxis are my far the most well-marketed in Liverpool, you see them literally everywhere…read more If you need a cab in Liverpool then these will probably be your best shout. They're well cheap, with a journey from the town centre to Green Bank, where the main university halls are, costing about five or six quid, where a black cab will cost a good tenner. They're usually fast and reliable as well but perhaps less so at peak times. You may find someone has jumped in your cab or something like that. Might be better off with a smaller firm if its three am.
