If you're looking for a sports medicine, intense and effective massage therapy session, Knot Knot is your spot. These ladies know what they're doing. I've been here a few times, but most recently came in because of a stiff neck. (40 year olds shouldn't get double bounced on the trampoline). They worked for an hour on my neck and shoulders and wow! I have a lot more movement than I when I first went in. They also used cups (first-timer here) and while it was painful, it was a great pain! If you're looking for that apres ski spa massage, probably knot what you're looking for..... but Knot Knot is amazing if you're more about no frills and all about getting those knot knots out! read more

Very easy booking, and they were able to schedule me the same day. I was booked with Wendy and I started with the 1-hr message. The room was clean with a coat rack and bin for my bag, and the bed was comfortable. Wendy was fantastic! After 5 minutes, I knew I was going to extend to 1.5hr. I have gone twice to knot knot and while the service could be a 4.5 star rating, their tacky business practices made me give it a 3 star. pros: appointments are not required massage was wonderful- the therapist actually walks on your back and uses their whole body to massage. clean overall cons: staff speaks very limited english there is an uncomfortable paper cover that they put on the massage table. This is so they can replace it without having to change the sheets. Customer service is interesting... - My first time there I walked in without an appointment. The woman said she could take me and then charged me before I even had the massage. I then wrote $10 as the tip since I had not even experienced the massage yet. I told her that I thought it was wrong that they charge before providing the service. She just smiled and nodded. I do not think she could understand me. When she saw that I had only written $10 as the tip, she pointed to a sign that said they suggest $14 as a min. tip.. Again, I said "BUT I have not gotten the service yet". Because I wanted a massage badly, I just put the $14 and left it at that. The massage was really good, but it was hard to get the whole weird exchange before hand out of my mind. Staff was very friendly and there was a relaxing and clean feel to the place. My boyfriend had a Groupon coupon, which they honored no problem, and we went for my birthday. A man and woman walked in. The woman asked my bf "hard or soft", and he said the massage was great. The man never asked me, and he just went to town. When he first touched my shoulders I thought that he was mad at me. There were literal tears coming from my eyes, but I didn't want to be rude and ask him to soften up, so I just took the pounding. Literally at the end my boyfriend was like, "was he hitting you at one point?". My back was out of whack for 4 days afterwards, and I think there were bruises. When he ventured down from my neck and back, it was more tolerable and felt nice. If I had spoken up, it probably would have been fine. Just...beware. Also, and this was a first and HUGE surprise to me, at the end they flip you over and rub a whole bunch of oils into your face and hair. I have a weird thing with my face...I just don't like people touching it, so the thought of strange oils on it made me want to die inside. But this may not be an issue for you. Almost a week later, and my face is a broken out mess. I might go again and just make sure there was more communication. Also, if you have a problem being naked and touched by a boy...maybe request a female. he was all up in me and I was alllllllll out there. like.....all. at one point he tucked the sheet into my thong...then fixed the straps. no lie. read more

Definitely ZERO Massage Training. Do not expect this to be a regular massage experience. There are random chairs outside of the establishment and it literally looks like it was a garbage dump for random chairs. When you enter inside, they do not do any form of intake form or ask if you have any problem areas and nor do they even ask what form of massage you were there for. There is a sign that says "Please tip $15 or more, it will buy us 2 cheeseburgers to have energy to work well" My appointment was for Noon. They take you back into the room where all she says is "Keep your underwear on" and they close the door behind you. You are going to lay on a table with a paper sheet (similar to a doctors exam office) and then you are going to lay under a beat up sheer sheet (It's see through, so my lady bits were visible. Talk about awkward). About 20 minutes lady a lady came in and instructs you to now lie face down with your face into the paper sheet and then the lady will punch a hole out of the paper sheet so you don't suffocate. This was hands down one of the weirdest, scariest and unpredictable massages I've ever had. Within the first five minutes I should have gotten up and left but I was hoping it would get better. Underwear was pointless. They end up moving them and your buttcheeks are pretty much exposed anyways and they massage your buns. This lady never ONCE asked if the pressure was ok. She just jumped on my back (literally was climbing on my back) and pushing down with her arms. Never ONCE asked if it was ok to use oils on me. She slathered oil all over me before even asking in which I got home to find rashes all over my skin. My guess it was some random cheap oil they found at the dollar store. There was periods where I had to ask to stop because she was literally "punching" my back and legs and then smacking them. This massage is good for you if you are into random, unpredictable sado-masochstic style of massage. I left there asking myself "Why did i stay beyond 5 minutes" I should have looked further into this place before spending the $50 bucks for the creepiest massage ever. Worst place ever. Not relaxing AT ALL. Maybe a good place for some, definitely not what I would expect out of a massage studio. You've been warned. read more

As I proceeded to my room with my husband everything looked good at first. People who came in was a older Asian woman who spoke no English and a man who spoke very little. Though the therapist who gave me massage did a good job, she had trouble communicating as she knew very little english. Pros: Good massage Relaxing environment Cons: Very very rude staff. I had a Groupon for a Thai Herbal massage and while I didn't get anything I'd consider a Thai Herbal massage the massage I did get was amazing. Cocoa (obviously not her real name) gave me probably one of the deepest massages I've ever had and my badly knotted up back is all the better for it. This is more an Asian massage place and, having had a gazillion massages in different countries in Asia I'm used to massages being different then what you'd normally expect here. They don't really do draping, leave your undies on if you aren't comfortable with your body and expect to have your butt cheeks massaged. These ladies were all sweetness and patience with me. I got lost, and was 20 minutes late for my 12:30 appointment. No problem. I had to run to the car to get my tablet to show them the Groupon. No problem. I feel lucky to have gotten Mary. She's my new massage therapist, physical therapist, and chiropractor. I asked her to work on my diaphragm, because I have the Broad Street Run coming up, and she did so, quite effectively. This isn't some clinical/medical practice where people with clipboards use various remote diagnostic methods on you, or even a McSsage place where the therapist barely seems involved...this is Asian style massage, and these ladies are actively trying to fix what ails you. In the massage room I was in, there were bars on the ceiling to assist the therapist in applying body weight. Mary is very skilled, and using body weight allows more force to be applied to tight muscles with less wear and tear on the therapists. It's just plain smart, and if you've got serious muscles, and any clue about physical fitness and function, you'll appreciate what you get. As always, communication is key. Real athletes understand that the glutes are an important link between the upper and lower body. Hips and glutes get tight and need to be worked for performance, function, even posture. If you want real Massage and Therapy, this is your place. Somehow, my sore knee is better today, even after a 6 mile run - the longest I have gone in some time- probably at least in part to the work Mary did on my hips, glutes, and knee. If you are some kind of bashful noob, then you should go for a McSsage at one of the major chains. The computer-generated music and formulaic, semi-robotic bodywork there will be more your speed. My girlfriend and I love Knot Knot, and will be loyal customers as long as they are open and we are in the area. It may not be for everyone, but it's the real deal for those who actually use their body, and appreciate skilled repair and maintenance work based on millennia of wisdom. I am cancelling my McSsage membership tonight, after the final service, for which I have already paid on their monthly recurring billing. I have been there 4 times and have great facials/massages. I tipped my massage therapist 20% today and she said qoute, " this is a really really bad tip, really really bad." She was giving me a hard time. I was completely shocked. She was asking for more $ telling me how much others give. By the end of the massage she was really rough and it wasn't enjoyable. I bought the package about 1 month ago. Went there 4 times and decided to try a different massage person each time. I think there are some relatively new massage ladies there probably in their early 40's. Each massage lady asked me if I wanted my massage hard, medium or soft and as they were doing it, again asked me if the massage was OK. I enjoyed all 4 massages as I felt relaxed and comfortable throughout the 1 hour. Also, I asked for more attention in certain areas and all were happy to focus on those areas to accommodate me. You should be aware that they are no longer honoring Groupons that were already purchased. I tried to make an appointment for Sunday and was told you can't use Groupons on Sunday. So I made an appointment for Monday and told them I was using a Groupon. When I got there, they said "the machine wasn't working" so they couldn't take the Groupon but they would give me the massage for $45 and I could get a refund from Groupon. I tried to ask when I could use the Groupon and the woman kept pointing to the Groupon and saying, "you call for a refund". So it seems they are not honoring them. That seems pretty shady to me. I have to say this is one of my least favorable experiences. If you have read any of my previous reviews, I believe I am fair with how I review different places, however this one was not good at all. I bought a groupon for a couples massage a while back. It had expired so I called the place and they said they could do a single person's massage and just use the amount I paid for the groupon towards my service. I figured that made a lot of sense and felt relieved that it was that easy. However that was not the case. When I got there I presented them with the groupon and told them that I spoke to someone on the phone and everything seemed well. I went into the room after choosing my service and got changed. I waited about 5 minutes or so for the person to come in. She apparently was not aware that I wanted the hot stone massage and gave me a deep tissue massage. I received a 45 minute deep tissue massage and it wasn't even what I wanted! I was supposed to get an hour long hot stone massage like I had asked for over the phone and prior to my massage appointment at the desk. When I came out they asked to see my groupon to pay and I told them that my groupon was $85 towards my service. The service cost $65 so I figured that since I already paid they could take the tip out of the difference. I figured that was fair but was willing to give $15 as they recommended on their many signs that were hung up around their business. They brought someone else out and continued speaking in a foreign language right in front of me. I had no idea what they were saying but they kept looking at me as if I was supposed to understand what they were saying. It started to get offensive as the woman who gave me the massage kept asking me where her tip was and I tried to keep telling her that the groupon covered my service but I gave $15. They took the money and held it up as if they were wondering what it was for even though you could clearly tell they were mad they weren't getting any more money out of me. Overall it brought on more stress than I had wanted and I left feeling very displeased. It seems that I have the same issues as everyone else. They are really rough, to the point that I couldn't bend over for 3 days afterwards because my lower back was messed up. My boyfriend had the same issue. They massage your bare bottom with lotion and get way up in there... every other place I have ever been to has massaged that area through a sheet. And the issue I was really bothered by was that I purchased a full body massage and they never had me flip over. So just my neck, back, and back of my thighs were done. It seemed clean. I called a few weeks after the expiration date and asked if they would honor the gift card. They said no problem and I made the appointment. When I got there the person behind the counter argued with me about the expiration date and then called called someone (the manager or owner I presume) and they had a 5 minute conversation. Then the person behind the counter put me on the phone with the manager/owner who also argued with me about the expiration. Then she told me I had to pay $15 extra dollars for the massage. I refused and then she said I could have the massage but it would only be for 30 minutes. At that point, I walked out. The place was otherwise empty which doesn't surprise me. Bait and switch on services. I requested 35min back massage and received a hour massage. I asked for lite touch/gentle and received deep tissue. The practitioners do not speak English and use that as an excuse to overcharge. The facility is not clean; cigarette smoke, carpet everywhere, curtains where there should be doors. They do not use sheets and blankets but paper like in a doctor's office. They made me take off my shoes at the door and there was a pile of shoes there. There was a small dog running around. I had a male masseuse who would lean into and against my arms and head with his private areas. I am not joking when I feel that this was a den of iniquity. This place is great. My wife and I have been regulars since first day literally. Like any place you need to find your favorites and we have been through a lot of therapists always working on finding what we like. Some are stronger and fast and some more gentle. I worry about someone walking on my back but they have this option, too. The prices are so reasonable ( we buy a multi pack ) that we do 2 hrs each visit and look forward to weekends to get a great massage. What a local treat ! First of all let me start by saying that this wellness lounge is the WORST spa experience I have ever had. I was given Mother's Day gift for a 60minute Thai herbal massage and that is not what I received. It was a massage with 5 mins of hot stone massage as part of the 60mins. I repeated to the lady that started my massage that I have paid for 'Thai HERBAL massage' and she just pretended that she didn't understand what I was talking about. So this place didn't deliver wht they advertise on their website as Thai herbal massage. Same day my friends went with me and they also didn't receive Thai herbal massage which is what they paid for. So I complained to the front greetings area where all the massage therapist were standing and they again ignored and pretended that they don't know what I was talking about. Another thing that was very annoying to us was when we got there and the front desk person didn't greet us but asked why are we here. After we showed her our groupon, she asks us the pay $4 in TAX? What the hell is that? She said u must pay now before your services and not with the tip.. Ok... So I asked her for the RECEIPT and it took the lady 5 mins to tell me they don't hve the paper and she wrote on a blank sheet of paper that I paid $4. That is some way to run a business... If they continue to be this way towards their customers, let me tell you there will be NO REPEAT CUSTOMERS!!! My friends and I are definitely not returning to this establishment EVER AGAIN!! If I could have given zero stars I would. They are clearly not professionals, and they injured a friend. The woman slapped cream on my face that smelled like toilet air freshener- put something over my entire face including my eyes, mouth and nose. She than proceeded to leave the room for almost 35 min. I had to peel that smelly thing off my face. Than I was going to give her a 5.00 tip for a 35.00 facial, of which she was there 10 min.
