Licensed in the U.S. but trained in Mainland China, the masseuses delivered a true Eastern style massage experience that left us relaxed and refreshed! Amanda is friendly, intelligent and speaks excellent English. The space is clean and nicely decorated. I was extremely impressed with 2 different body massage I got here. It is very rare that I will get a massage and think to myself the entire time that they are hitting the all right spots with the perfect amount of pressure, but that has happened here with both the half hour and hour massages I got on separate occasions. These ladies know what they are doing! I prefer harder pressure massages and because of this, at other places, there have been sections of my massages that are a little painful. Not the case here. The pressure was always very hard, but they know how to apply it to the right areas. Their prices are very reasonable, especially for what you get. The ambiance is where you are getting the discount in my opinion. It's not bad, but it's also not on par with the upscale spas where you pay twice as much. To me, it's the product that matters and they deliver in that respect. Even more so than massages at those fancier places. Note: I did want to acknowledge that I do believe another reviewer about the couple's massage and the kid being swapped in. I've seen him there and he's nice, but I've also seen them switch him in if the main masseuse is called away. To me, it looks like this place is a small, family-owned establishment. They probably must deal with more people than they can handle at busy times. It's just something I have observed and not based on anything other than that, so I did not factor it into my rating. My husband and I went for a couples massage which was $85. It was a good massage but sometimes there was a lot of pressure applied. I tried telling the lady but she didnt speak english. I did enjoy the hot stone feature towards the end. One thing I didnt like is that they have rooms with curtains and you could hear everyone outside those curtains. Also you can hear the phone ring. If you're looking for a peaceful relaxing massage this is not the place. Another thing I didnt like was the fact that the man checking us out REQUESTED a tip. I usually tip but I have never been requested to do so. When I gave him the tip he said "oh thats it" thats not enough". He caught me off guard and I told him thats all the cash I had. $10 for a tip is not bad in my terms but he made sure to let me know that was not a good tip! Please stop shaming your clients when you dont think their tip is enough. read more

The worst massage and experience I've had. When I called to make an appointment they offered me a time and upon saying okay, the lady said goodbye and hung up the phone. I called back to make sure my appointment was confirmed as they didn't ask me for a name or anything and was told they were busy for about 5 minutes even after I tried to explain I just wanted to confirm. After they looked into it, they said yes come in but still didn't ask for my name. When we got there, they rushed us into the room immediately and shut the curtain. We were a little confused as they didn't ask us what we wanted out of the massage or even what pressure we each preferred. The massage, I'm not sure could even be considered a massage. It was lots of pressing on our bodies, they spend maybe 10 minutes on my neck initially and then would continue pushing on it. They focused on that and my hands more than anything else. They did use hot stones and a hot towel which was the best part of the whole thing but it only lasted maybe 5 minutes tops. We decided we should still tip them even though I absolutely hated mine, and once we gave them their tip, they demanded more. Apparently they have a required minimum which is absurd. Needles to say, I do not recommend and am not going back. read more

I don't even think you could believe our experience but you can't make this stuff up-- I came in for a couples massage, my massage was great. My masseuse was thorough and worked on my trouble areas. Five stars for my portion of the massage. My husband on the other hand had his masseuse leave after fifteen minutes to take a walk in, and had her son (a preteen child) finish his massage. I looked up during my massage curious to see this child massaging my husband, and this child not only kept leaving the room to take phone calls and greet other clients, but also 'massaged' my husband by pushing down on his eyelids for the rest of our time there.... I don't know what that was about because my masseuse didn't do that to me, it seemed like the kid had no idea what he was doing. *NOTE: my masseuse has me turn over half way and she literally pulled the thin sheet that was on me (I was literally in my underwear) in front of this boy child, which was seriously uncomfortable. When we left I left a tip for my masseuse and this child then demanded for his tip and asked for a bigger tip thereafter. If you're looking to relax, this probably isn't the place to go. Although I had a good time there, just watching my husband get the most awkward massage ever was terrible- I definitely won't be coming here again. read more

Massages can be kind of like pizza: even a bad one is pretty good. I bought the Groupon deal for 3 massages as Amanda Health Land Spa and went for the first time back in January. One thing that struck me is that there are several "stations" set up, but none of them are actually rooms. Each area is separated by a thin curtain, meaning you can hear when people come in and out, their conversations, etc. It can also get a bit drafty with the door opening and closing in winter. While it's still private, the setup wasn't conducive to a relaxing experience. . The massage itself was okay, but not especially enjoyable. Parts of it were actually painful, as the masseuse used too much pressure on the legs. The hot stones were a nice addition and probably the best part of the massage. By the last 20 minutes, I was ready for it to be over. I've tried to schedule my second massage twice. Even though it says they're open from 10-8 every day, when I made an appointment on a Sunday I was called back within minutes and told that the only masseuse there on Sundays wasn't feeling well. I tried again today, but she said she had someone coming in at that time. It's understandable, but it also seems like there's only one person who can give the massage. I would definitely call and make an appointment before dropping in. read more

The spa is tucked away in a collection of stores near a cycling shop. I made my appointment for a set time in the morning. When I got there Amanda wasn't there. So I wait and Amanda arrives 15 minutes late. Not to worry I thought, she'll make up for it with a top class massage. Not a single word about sorry I'm late. The massage turned out to be pretty lame. For a start there are no real doors between the customers, just curtains, so the man on the next table was five feet away and you can hear everything next door, including all their talking. Midway through Amanda stops and leaves the area saying that she has to do paperwork, which means check someone out (get paid and the like). For the rest of the time she seemed to be bored as if I wish the hour were over. Better luck to you. And finally, depending on who answers the phone you will speak to someone fluent in English or with no knowledge of English whatsoever. read more

Selena did an excellent job on my boyfriend... she knew his stress points and was able to relieve the tensions he has on his back. She wasn't afraid to dig deep with her elbows. My experience was slightly different as I'm 33 weeks pregnant so they were very gentle with me. Hopefully next time I will receive the same quality massage he was given. Only downside was that the rooms were separated only by curtains and thin walls so you hear everything going on outside. We also like that they weren't pushy about making future appointments or sales. They just gave us coupons for next time, which we will use. read more

For quality, value and convenience, Health Land is a great spa. Curtains separate the rooms and the spa is not very big, but the value, for this area is quite good. Health Land runs a series of Groupon promos, but you might be better off buying a package deal at the spa. A friend recommended this spa, he bought a 10 1/2 hour package and visits frequently. I'm trying to decide if I want to commit to being a regular and purchasing a package deal. My masseuse did a fantastic job of using all her available strength to work the knots out of my back. If you go to this place, don't ask for Kevin. It seems like he's the owner and he left me lying on my back for 10 minutes to answer the phone. Then, he continued to leave my curtained area to answer the phone throughout the rest of my hour-long massage. Then, he would leave my massage table to welcome in new clients and check out clients who finished. When I asked if he could add 15 minutes extra time onto the time that was lost while he was not with me, he said he would, but then began to stop massaging my injured neck deeply, and instead lightly patted my back while shouting something angrily to another masseuse in Chinese. I left the massage before my time was up and did not leave a tip. Prior to having Kevin, all of the female masseuses who worked on me in the past at this place were great! Mary and Candy never interrupted my massage to answer the phone once, stayed with me the whole time, and massaged all of my knots very deeply. This place is a terror if you get Kevin and wonderful if you ask for any of the women. But it's hard to watch Kevin shout orders at them and treat them like his underlings. I always give the women a 30% tip because I don't feel as though they're paid and treated well by the seeming owner, Kevin. read more

I have been to Health Land Spa two times now. The premises are very clean and the staff are also very friendly. I got my whole body massages from Amanda and have to say that she did a great job and made my muscles and body feel great. She uses just the right amount of pressure and touch and is a true professional. One thing I also liked was that they used fresh clean towels on the massage table unlike some other places I have been to. I found this place by accident, but so glad I did. These have been the best massages of my life. Obviously everyone is different in terms of preference, so not saying this style of massage is for everyone, but for what I like, it's perfect. I prefer a deeper tissue massage and I have a lot of tension in my back, shoulders and neck and they spend ample time in these areas. To boot, their rates are very reasonable. At a full-scale spa, I end up spending 2x as much for a lower quality massage. I found this place three weeks ago and I've been there once each week! read more

This is a high quality chinese massage that is very affordable. The place is very simple but the tables are comfortable (unlike some other chinese massage tables) and the massage was very good. Don't come if you expect a high end swedish massage. This is chinese and be very clear when you call since their English is functional but not for anything complicated. You can tell them what you want, how you want it and when you want it. They will give you that and the place is very affordable, especially for the foot massage which is what i come for once a week. read more
