Ryan was great. Rats in the attic or squirrels? Turned out to be one large squirrel. Now he is gone and pest entrances sealed up.

Review Highlights - Knockout Pest Control

Ryan didn't do any bait-and-switch or upselling--just some friendly conversation before getting to work.

Consulted with Joe, and while I have yet to actually contract Green Valley for bed bug…read moreextermination service, he was extremely responsive and informative, providing me information and options on how to find out if a bed bug issue is indeed present. (this, much better than a money grabbing business model) If it turns out bed bugs are present, I will surely give these guys the go ahead. In the meantime, I was so impressed with the attentiveness, I thought I'd write them a nice review here.

Why the dearth of reviews on bedbug companies, Vancouver? Haha…read more Well, this review could've helped me out when one day I noticed I'd been bit...6 times(!!!!!!). Could've saved me one ragged, crazy, pitiful time. Here's my review and you're welcome: Had a different company come in to do an inspection by dog/human (first company that responded to my callout for help). The dog signalled the bed as harbouring the BBs! Until then, I'd been 95% sure I'd been bitten at work. In return, the dog got handfuls of treats thrown at its paws. Not going to go into details about what all I did when I got this news....No. Just that I booked two spray and steam sessions with the same company. In a rare moment of useful thinking, the day before they were to come and cancer up the joint, I decided to do some more research. Did you know chemical spraying/steam treating is only about 67% effective after two sessions (the standard recommended amount)? Did you know chemical spraying only scatters the bedbugs if there is no direct hit? I read that heat was the answer. The first guy I called was from the Island. Really passionate about his work. Even though he was booked to the gills and suggested I call another company, he spent some time telling me why heat was best. Tried to tell me that he didn't use dogs because the results were a bit of a crapshoot, but I needed to get off the phone as another company was returning my call. This company shall remain nameless, but after booking with them I read the one review out there on a bedbug company and it was them and the feedback was terrible (napping during treatment time). I cancelled. They cost a lot and had a bad guarantee policy, anyway. Then, I found Green Valley Pest Control and through them, Heat 'n Go. Sure, the guy at Green Valley Pest didn't think to call me to tell me Rick from Heat 'n Go had gone home for the day and would be calling me in the AM and not that day (I had to find things to distract myself while WAITING), but everything else about this company was stellar. Heat'n Go has a solid way of going about things. First, they offered to inspect all neighbouring units, as well as mine, with their dog/human team before and after treatment for the same cost. Then, during inspection, the guy insisted he be able to find bedbugs, their eggs, or feces to say my place was infested even though his dog (sigh), after much seemingly disinterested sniffing and walking about, gave its signal my bed was BB-positive (its signal was sitting and ol' dog Moonshine sat after being repeatedly told and motioned by Rick to go under the planks of my bed). Rick couldn't find anything. No treat for dog. For me, this was the worst possible outcome at the time: Uncertainty and prolongation of crazy time. I told Rick I was going to junk the bed. Cover it in something and junk it. Then, heat treat my place. Or, heat treat my place then junk the bed. He tried talking me off the ledge. Said sure, I could those things, but why? Said to call in two weeks if I found anything or got more bites. He left. I was dejected. The people at work (I wouldn't tell anyone else about my...issue) got their earfuls. All tried in their way to help, but it was me, having a moment of lucidity that lead me to think I didn't have an infestation on my hands. I decided to take a couple of my coworkers' advice: Sleep in the damn thing. I told myself I could call in sick the next day if there were any new bites. Things wouldn't be safe for those around me if I came in, anyway. I did another thorough inspection, carefully washed everything, stuck the homemade BB traps a coworker had given to me on my headboard, and tiredly crawled into bed. I showed up at work the next day. Tired and more dishevelled than usual, but calmer than I'd been in awhile and with no new bites=) It's been more than two weeks now without anything happening and I am grateful to Rick for saving me more hassle and money. Highly recommend. Call him.

I initally requested help with a squirrel problem in our atttic. This took about 7 or 8 visits by Hassan to repair/close entry points in our roof, set traps to catch the squirrels, and then several follow-up visits to inspect the attic to make sure squirrels had not returned. During the intial visit and survey of the roof and attic, Hassan pointed out some other issues he noticed: 1) there were several bee nests in the attic ---so I hired Hassan to remove the bee nests. 2) the gutters were full of debris from recent windstorms --- so I hired Hassan to clean the gutters. 3) one of the down pipes attached to the gutter was detached and bent --- so Hassan fixed that. 4) one of the soffits was hanging down a bit so Hassan fixed that. I always appreciate it when someone comes to provide a service and at the same time, points out other unrelated issues that could be a problem. Again, I am pleased to recommend Hassan and Sobia's services. Rob Adams, Surrey

We reached out to Humane Solutions after having tried and failed to deal with our mouse problem…read more Our solution of blocking openings under sinks and having bait boxes outside the house worked for about 3 months but as we went from summer to fall and we removed the bait boxes, they found their way in again. We originally didn't find any companies that could offer much more than what we did ourselves, which is why I was discouraged to see the return of the mice. What would they do now that we hadn't done, except reintroduce bait boxes and only guarantee their work for 3 months? At $500/3 months that wasn't much of a solution. I came across HS in a google search. After speaking to them over the phone I was so hopeful. They were very patient explaining what they did, why and how it would work. They don't have a warranty or a guarantee on being pest free persay, but the goal is permanent pest proofing - it's just hard to guarantee under one original quote when these pests are so tricky. I was worried about the lack of written guarantee, but they reassured me that they wouldn't quit until we were mice free. It's hard to take a business on their word, but boy was their word tested to the extreme and they got an A+. November they came and did the original pest proofing. We took a risk going against what Human Solutions said about examining the whole house (everything but the front porch due to repair costs) but felt confident we'd be okay. So we were pest free for about 3 weeks, saw nothing and started to feel better in December. Until we saw a mouse again. They sent another tech (fresh eyes) to examine the house and make sure nothing was missed. They didn't find anything that visit, but we still continued seeing activity. Now the porch was starting to bug all of us and HS suggested that be our next check if we continued to see mice. Fast forward a bit and we decided to pull up a board on our front steps so we could look under and lo and behold, we (the idiots) had drilled a hole to run a wire from our garage out to the other side of the patio. And we did not seal it. Total moron moment. By this time the mice had everything they needed, a mouse highway (along that wire) in a hidden dark alcove, access to bird food and mouse bait in our garage, and free run of the house via that hole in the wall. Mind you this was winter too, so they definitely wanted to be warm. HS came out again and took care of it. We felt better - terrified of what was still trapped inside but feeling like maybe we would be home free soon. Not quite. We still had activity in the house, very minor, but we still had some. Apparently the tech who sealed the big glaring hole missed two very hard to see, very impossible to reach and very tricky holes that were behind tar paper (I don't blame them - the two holes were not typical mouse access points). Their most experienced tech, who is also the owner, came out and found the 2 impossible holes. He also explained that once they have really nice access to your home, they are a lot more persistent to keep looking for a hole to exploit and that's exactly what happened. In the end, we've been pest free for months now, only paid the original quoted fee plus a small service fee that was beyond the free checks they provided and did not pay for the final visit which was technically an "error" missed by the tech. After 18 years of living in this home and never having an issue, this was downright traumatizing. I wish I had known about HS back when we first noticed activity. I also wish we had decided to remove the front decking at the same time we had the whole house inspected. It would have prevented the mice from becoming so familiar with our home and moving in. We will never live in a home that we haven't had HS come and pest proof. Why live with that worry when you have HS willing to tackle such a difficult problem and get permanet results. No need to pay monthly for pest control - please don't until after you speak to HS. Most likely you will get better results that costs you less money in the long run.
