We had an appointment scheduled with this company for a light carpet cleaning. This is a 2 year old high quality carpet that we needed cleaned for one purpose only: our son is allergic to a variety of things and we wanted to see if getting rid of dust and pet dander would help him. We do have a dog and a cat. Before choosing a specific service this company provides, we had a lengthy conversation over the phone with the owner answering a bunch of questions in order to pick the right one. As per the owner's recommendation, the light carpet cleaning service was chosen and the appointment was made. While discussing all the little details, she mentioned to me the cat urine treatment which I wasn't sure about at that point and told her ill make a decision when the technician comes in next week, and we left it at that.
A week later, on the day of the appointment, the technician shows up and immediately recommends a different, more expensive service. After calculating how much extra that would be I declined. He then tells me that the area that needs to be treated is larger than they anticipated and therefore I'd have to pay extra. I was surprised , considering how much time was spent during the original conversation, but agreed anyway.
He then tells me that I should definitely consider urine treatment as he identified few old spots (even in the room where the cat has never been). I was hesitant but still wanted to know how much extra that would cost. The price he quoted was unreasonable to me and so I declined. Interestingly enough, I, myself, pointed out an old stain from my cat when he had an accident that was washed and treated in the past and had some residual baking soda stain on it. At this point he was getting visibly annoyed and told me that I would have to sigh a waiver which I agreed to. He went to his truck to get paper work and never returned. I did, however, got a call from his wife who happens to be the business owner informing me that they are declining the service.. I was stunned beyond words. A company declining a service they themselves originally recommended? Yes! Why? Her answer was : because we can't risk a bad review. I tried to reson with her explaining that at no point was it mentioned to me that urine treatment was mandatory but she kept insisting that my carpet needed it. So, we parted ways and I promised her an honest review. Here it is!
I had my friends over at the house at the time of the appointment who could not believe what they were seeing and hearing.
I hope this helps someone in the future. read more
