He goes beyond the norm to make sure his customers get what they want and are satisfied. He gave us options on what we could do to keep our current HVAC in order to save money, but we insisted on getting a brand new HVAC system because it was 21 years old. He called around and got us the best deal possible and installed it in a couple days.. I did my research and found out he saved us several thousands of dollars which he could of easily pocketed.. This man is an old school genuine guy and there are not many people, let alone contractors out there like this anymore.. If I could afford it I would of tipped him exorbitantly to make sure he stays operational in order so that he could provide his services to others for the foreseeable future.. This is the second time I've used his services and both times he has been impressive.. As a small business owner myself, I know it isn't always easy so I tip my hat off to Mr Sears for consistent professionalism.. So if you don't use his services, you are doing a disservice to yourself and your bank account! He even called us a couple days after to make sure everything was good to go.. Thank you Mr Sears for all you do, for being a great technician and for being a great person!

I…read moregave him a call in the afternoon (very close to 5pm) and he was able to squeeze me into his schedule. He arrived when within the given time frame, which was about 7pm. He was courteous and engaged me in the troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair process. It started raining lightly, but then quickly got much heaver after a few minutes. He ended up soaking wet. And yet he still was able to charge a reasonable rate for the repair (parts and labor).

They completely redid my crawl space AC ducting, removing my critter-shredded flex duct and replacing it with pristine, sturdy hard-duct--all in just a day and a half.... during a snowstorm! Thanks to their incredible work, my family's heat was restored, and we didn't have to suffer in freezing temperatures. From start to finish, AIRTEK was fast, professional, and incredibly thorough. Leo, the CEO himself, came out to assess the situation and ensure his team could do the most complete job possible and at the best price. To date, I have trusted their advice to make affordable repairs on my aging unit and help me stay warm and/or cool. When you call for service you can usually get an appointment within a day or two of calling, unless it's an emergency then they can typically squeeze you in faster. The downsize is you might get techs where English is their second language. I don't speak Spanish, but just went with the flow on a recent big repair. I started by assuming they couldn't possibly need anything more from me other pointing to the attic and to the bathroom. I was correct. Howver, it was hard to fully understand how close they were to completing the job then actually learning when they were done. But after giving feedback to the office manager, I have learned improving their English is a priority. So I would still feel comfortable using and recommending AirTek.

I did a little research of reviews for HVAC companies in Chesapeake and found Simmons had great ratings. I found quickly why they had 5-stars! My previous HVAC contractor had been out twice and I was left with, " you need a new thermostat" and left with a cold house. That's when I found Simmons. They were very responsive and were out within 8 hours. The technician was very polite, professional and explained everything about the system (since I was unfamiliar with a dual-fuel system). He identified the problem and made the necessary repairs quickly. Having had a great experience then, I put the system under contract with them. Since then they have not let me down. They have kept my system in excellent condition. This week I suddenly had an issue with heat. Called and had a technician here within 3 hours. He got the system working but the next day I had the same issue and on one of the coldest days the system was out again. I called after hours and within 15 minutes had a call back from the on-call tech who said he would be here in 20 minutes. He was. The problem was so minute, a loose connection, but trouble shooting that was a pain for him, but he found the problem within 15 minutes. Simmons is my only HVAC system contractor. I know the age of the existing system and understand it only has a few years left in it. I feel confident that Simmons will keep it running great and when the dreaded day comes, it will be Simmons technicians installing a new system.

    I've been using Smith & Keene for my HVAC needs for decades…read more When I had to buy a new upstairs Heat Pump because the technology has changed & parts were longer available, I bought it from them. I'm comfortable with their sales personnel showing me different options and letting me choose my preference. They don't force a certain product on you. Prior to that, my downstairs unit died. It was time for replacement. At that time I chose to have the ductwork replaced in the crawl space. The old ductwork was original to my house's 1985 construction. Because the temperature in Coastal Virginia had started to spike in what had always previously been mild Springs, I chose a high volume unit. I've been happy with that choice. With both units, buying the high end product was my choice. The value added was through the comfort provided. I don't like hot weather and certainly don't want to sleep in the heat. The company offers a Service Plan, which includes a parts discount and a semi annual inspection, one before the weather turns cold and the other before heat arrives. I purchase this plan each year which provides peace of mind. Today was my Fall inspection. The technician Chad was new to Smith & Keene but not to the HVAC industry. He was the best technician I've had in decades. He was pleasant & loved my dogs. But even better, he was the most knowledgeable technician I have ever had. Chad's attention to detail was impressive. He knew exactly how to operate my pull down attic stairs, being careful to hold the hinges so that it opened & closed smoothly. This has been a problem with some previous technicians. When I told him the upstairs unit has an internal filter, I could hear him upstairs saying "yes". He knew exactly how to remove the filter and brought it down for cleaning. When I told him the last technician said it didn't need cleaning, he validated my statement that it needed to be cleaned at every inspection. Chad was knowledgeable, knowing exactly what to do without relying on a check list. He completed the checklist but knew what to do without having it direct him, similar to the older technicians who have retired. After he left I called the Service Department office and requested that Chad be my permanent technician. They are extremely lucky to have made such a knowledgeable hire. Smith & Keene will always be my HVAC company of choice.

We are trying to pay it off, but are also having personal and financial troubles. The new owner will not let us have any service and says he is not a charity. Our a/c is not working. The temp is over 82 degrees inside and they refuse to come out and help even though the a/c is still under warranty and we promise to immediately pay for any service necessary. I guess the new Smith and Keene doesn't care about its long standing customers, it only cares about money. Buyer beware.

I waited until late Thursday before I called number provided from my home warranty company. When I called, Brian answered and seemed to be aware of my case. He stated he could come on Sunday to determine the problem and fix. When I advised him of the temperature on the 2nd floor was 90 degrees when I left for work that morning, he was kind enough to try and work me in the next day. He arrived around 2:30pm and quickly identified the flawed part and replaced it. The total repair time was less than 20 minutes. I happen to have a very pleasant experience and if this is able to delivered with each customer, I believe these type of reviews will speak more positively about Mason's.

We have called multiple times. Zero returned. Our insurance company could only get a hold of him. He stood us up multiple times/ days. We went over a week without his help. He finally talked to us on the phone and gives a 9-5 window with a 30 min call prior and didn't see how that's inconvenient to clients. He lied to me multiple times on the phone and said he called us back multiple times and left messages which I have proof he didn't via a call log. He was rude. We also have log dates in the insurance of how many days he's was requested and he no showed. He says he has multiple trucks and multiple guys working with multiple clients daily but can't give me a number of how many clients are ahead of us or how many guys are working. Seems very unorganized and unprofessional and to be honest seems like a lie as well. He sounds like just one guy who just woke up and picked up the phone and tried to lie his way out of things and is rude and unprofessional. And hung up on me just bc I was asking questions. Never recommend. Sketch af.
