We stayed in a suite - 2 queen beds as well as a sofa bed. It was such a large room; perfect for our family! The sink was separate from the bathroom, and there was a second sink in the kitchen area. The kitchen area had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. There were plenty of places for everyone's phone/watch chargers. Everything was clean. A/C was cold. We did have to ask for a few more washcloths and towels, since we were 5 people, but the front desk took care of it. The hotel seemed quite full (we saw at least two high school teams there), yet we did not hear lots of noise, and had no problems getting a good night's sleep. Breakfast is included in your stay. Even with the two large groups staying at the same time as us, the breakfast was refilled often, so we were still able to enjoy all the choices available. There was bacon, omelets, toast, muffins, bagels, scones, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, and water. The breakfast attendant did a great job. This was a great stay after a full day of driving! I would highly recommend staying here.

One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever had the privilege of staying in! Even before I get into…read morethe details, just know that if you're road tripping across Texas it is 100% worth driving an extra hour or two to stay here!! While the town of Big Spring isn't much to look at, this hotel has been resurrected from the dead and made to shine brighter than ever. Seriously, if you get the chance to look through the crazy renovation pictures in the lobby you have to see just how bad the condition was when the owners bought it! Despite the age, the elevators weren't worrying at all, and the woman at the front desk recommended a high floor to us for the view. I'm glad she did because it really was beautiful to watch the sun set across the vast flatness of Texas from the 11th floor. Before I get to the room, I have to shoutout how beautiful the lobby is. Grand staircase, beautiful decor, an antique car, informative history on the walls, AND an amazing bar and a great restaurant on site too. It's awesome, and my friend and I were both impressed by the drinks we got with dinner. We were all very satisfied with our dinners and the portions were generous. Customer service was also top notch in every aspect, and that's definitely not just because they gave us a delicious homemade chocolate chip cookie (omg so good). Now to get to the hotel room... first of all, it was HUGE! Probably the biggest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Two big beds with a generous amount of space around them, a full coffee bar at the entrance to the room, a big walk-in closet space, a vanity, and a huge bathroom that had a soaking tub AND a spacious shower stall. Honestly, we were stunned by the size of the room and that was only capped off by the comfort of the beds. After road tripping across Texas all day, these were absolutely magical. We'd wanted to stay in unique places on this road trip and I'm so glad we did because Hotel Settles isn't just beautiful, it's also comfortable and very luxurious in the accommodations and food / drink options on site! Highly recommend!!

During a very windy day, I noticed the window making noise, so I inspected it and discovered that the window does not lock at all. As a woman staying alone in the room during the day, this immediately made me feel unsafe and vulnerable. My boyfriend contacted the front desk and asked if maintenance could come look at it. We were told nothing could be done until the following day. The next day, I waited all morning for maintenance, but no one ever came or contacted me. Around noon, I went to the front desk myself, and the employee was extremely rude. She claimed she "knew" I was still in the room and said maintenance would not enter while I was there. However, no one ever communicated that to me, knocked on the door, called the room, or informed me I needed to step out temporarily for repairs. I then asked about switching rooms due to the safety issue, and I was told there were no available rooms. Because the hotel failed to properly secure the room or provide another accommodation, my boyfriend and I had to go to Walmart ourselves to buy a broomstick and cut it down to place in the window for security. No guest should have to create their own security solution in order to feel safe in a hotel room. I feel completely exposed and vulnerable knowing the window cannot lock properly, especially on the first floor. This situation was handled poorly from both a customer service and safety standpoint.

It was REALLY creepy here…read more Maybe you can't escape from the oil & cow dung smell but perhaps if you stay somewhere else you can still feel safe. We got really lost trying to find this place and when I called the front desk and asked, "Can you tell me just one landmark to look for so I can find the hotel," the lady said, "uh uh uhhhh.." and was no help. All she had to say was it's next to this or that to help us.. Bed was crazy uncomfortable and the extra security lock thing was ripped off of our door. Didn't exactly make us feel secure. Seriously, horrible and surprisingly not even worth $50. Miserable. I think I saw some juggalos in the parking lot. And yeah, they want you to pay for wifi. Who does that anymore?

Filthy, scary, crack head broken down motel in the middle of nowhere. Creepy people in the parking lot all hours of the night. When we got to our room, smelled heavy of old smoke. Sheets and comforters stained. Gross. Luckily i always bring extra blankets because of situations like this. I seriously slept in my clothes and shoes in case I was about to get murdered and would try to run (the security latch to door broken off). The shower was grooooosss with mystery stuff at the bottom. We had no towels, chair or phone. Quick tip- Sleep with one eye open and after checking out here, swing by the local hospital to get tetnus shot and checked for VD.

Online advertised price via Super8.com was $60 night. Arrived at 3am and they wanted $85 night. He finally offered a "special" price $76 night. Never said what the total would be. No receipt offered or given after requested. Got the total price charged from the Credit Card statement. The room was in the back of the motel next to an obvious party at the stairs. Even after cleaning up, beer cans and other trash littered the entire property. Very obviously a local party location. Stayed during the week. Every night sounded like there was a party outside. People talking and laughing. The room was basic. The room appeared clean. NO BLANKET!! Just a single sheet to cover with over the fitted sheet and 3 pillows. As it was late, I decided to just go to sleep and worry about anything in the morning. That morning, I went to take a shower, the hand towel had YELLOW stains on it. The other towel that the hand towel was wrapped in on the shower had dirty foot prints on it. The one towel I used to dry off appeared clean? The window cover doesn't completely cover the window and other than the bathroom (there was no curtains), the full room is viable thru the window. Door looked like it had been kicked in at one point. The TV didn't work and the WiFi didn't work. When I told front counter, they responded with "ok, sorry". Thats it!! They never replaced any of the towels or washcloths, even when asked for replacements. I paid for several nightstand all I get is OK, Sorry? no fresh towels? No maid service? The motel staff refused to do anything other than say "ok, sorry"... Now for the bad part - During the second night of a three night "reservation", around midnight, there was LOUD MUSIC! I am a heavy sleeper and this woke me up!! I called the front desk, not too happy. The front desk clerk, after resolving the music issue, BRINGS THE PERSON TO MY ROOM! Where he asked if they can play their music!?! WTF?!? I checked out shortly after this incident. I was offered a new room at this point, too little too late. Something they should have done earlier that day when informed TV and WiFI didn't work... Contacted corporate. Their response was to offer rewards points. As someone that doesn't travel much and was not a member of their rewards program, this was very insulting. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!
