This place ROCKS! It's a typical West Texas RV park, but the front office staff makes ALL the difference. He was wonderful and accommodating. The facilities were clean. The spaces were wide. An unexpected death in the family necessitated an trip to California from our home in Texas. The trip was made even more challenging by several breakdowns. Whip-In RV Park was an total blessing to us both going and coming back. On both occasions we arrived well after hours to find a gracious reception, clear directions and excellent service from a caring staff. Tim answered the phone and saved us while we were on our eclipse trip without a place to stay overnight. He was lovely, advised us of high winds, told us to drive safely, and left all the information we needed posted on a board for us when we arrived late at night. After a tiring day of pulling an RV trailer, fighting the wind gusts of the Texas plains, we were ready for an overnight stop. We make our reservations in advance based upon Good Sam ratings and Yelp ratings. We also look at the RV park's website for a better feel of the place and to set our expectations. The reviews were okay and the website was professionally done, so we booked our stay. But, as soon as we whipped in, we almost whipped out but the thought of finding another place to spend the night was too much trouble ... we were tired and needed a place to land. We walked to the office that was supposed to be open, but was closed (we could smell cigarette smoke) but our paperwork was there, directing us to our campsite. We drove to our site which was an easy pull through. We hooked up the 30 amp and turned on the AC. I was in need of a shower so I went to the restroom/shower and said "Nope!" The shower stalls were stained and some of the grouting was black. There was a layer of dust on the window ledge and the smell was not fresh. The walls needed painting and the smell of cigarette smoke was present here as well. The park is right along the I-20 freeway and the traffic noise is loud. The beautiful website with glorious photos is deceptive. This park needs a serious face lift and I would not stay here again. read more

This park was older but well maintained and manicured. The owner was polite, kind , courteous and accommodating . We had traveled all day and he met us as we drove in we did not have reservations but he found a spot for us easy in and easy out and under shade!! Pulled in late in the day after the guy checked us in, he led us to our spot. He led us so we could have easy access pulling out which was nice b/c it's a small place, w tight corners. The park was clean, quiet (except for interstate noise). Guy was friendly & helpful, asked if we needed help w anything to just ask, offered a military discount which was also great. My buddy used the shower & BR said it was clean. Dog run was gated, grassy. Good overnight stay. read more

This is a over night RV Park for most travelers. Most of the residents are long term, my guess local laborer. Not that that is bad, but the park definitely targets long term residents. The park had wonderful wifi, offers cable TV, has showers, laundry facilities, a dog park, a small (very small) playground area, cabins and even has two apartments over the office. Most RV sites do not have a picnic table, and are very narrow. (Our "neighbor's" car was parked within a foot of our door.) The women's showers are older, but acceptable. My grandson said the men's shower was very dirty when he used it (10:00 pm) at night. I suspect it is cleaned as often as the woman's, but with a lot of male worker residents, I'm sure it gets heavier use. The owner does live on site, and she is very pleasant. The residents were quiet and polite. Most sites have trees, and she does have a handful of sites that can accommodate a longer rig in tow, those sites are narrow and have no trees or shade. Would I stay there again, yes, if in transit to another location and in need of an overnight stopping point. This RV Park is not a vacation destination. However, it is well maintained. read more

This is an older park that has not been maintained. Unsure how they even have a Good Sam's rating. Tight squeeze just getting around the corners to the spot with a 40' bus. Once parked, the area between our coach and a long term resident was loaded with dog poo, needless to say had to clean our shoes. Notified the office about the dog issue and was informed she would have it taken care of, didn't happen. I rate this park as a definite avoid if you can. read more

Is this the nicest Rv park out there? No but sometimes there are other things that fill in the gap. The owner is one of the nicest guys I have ever met and is ridiculously laid back. Some Rv parks you feel like they are watching your every move if you break one of their 800 rules but whip- in is the opposite. Seems like the park is mostly long term residents working in oil so it's very very quiet. Whip in is a great place to take a rest between long drives or to make a home base while checking out the town around you. read more

when you try to take a shower sometimes someone will try to get in after you or try to open the door to the shower room. As a woman this makes me incredibly nervous. Plus with that camera sitting there watching who comes and goes is disconcerting too. People flick cigarettes under your camper and try to blame it on you. Dogs run all around and try to run after you and your car. read more

I give this location of 4 for a couple of reasons not because it's beautiful not because of the Big Trees but it does have some trees but because of the price is good you get 80 some TV channels on their cable they do have Wi-Fi and Mister Jeter's is a kick in the pants and worth every penny just to spend a little time visiting with him he's fun he's focused he knows his way around keeps just safe when you're driving by letting you know how the winds are just a great great guy I would stay here again without hesitation just a hop off the I-35 and Big Spring Texas perfect for an overnighter pull throughs pull out thank you mr. A nice RV park at a nice price. The new owners checked us in, then guided us to/into our space. The park isn't all that big but a nice touch. The TV cable was long enough to reach the right side of my 5th wheel, not just a cable connection like most parks. The site was relatively level, the bathrooms were clean. Nothing fancy but a nice place to stay. Recommended. read more

The staff and owners here are awesome. Great place to stay I would highly recommend this park if you are coming to town for work or leisure.

Came in late around 9:00 the owner met us showed us to our spot. Nothing fancy but felt safe, showers are nice, and they have a dog park fenced in with a pooper scooper and waste area. Very nice people and would definitely stay here again. Super accommodating and management is on site! read more

We stayed at this park in winter during a snowy day. People there were very friendly and when we left the next morning we accidentally cracked the lid to the sewer pipe because it was frozen. We left an envelope with an apology note and money to replace the lid. When we got home, a couple weeks later we received in the mail this note "Thank you for the offer but things like this just happe and we don't expect anyone to pay for them" with our money returned. This park really cares about their customers. We would stay at this park again with no hesitation!!! read more

Whip-in gets a 4 from us because the staff are helpful and concerned. We had a cable problem during a wind storm and they were there with us, testing connections until we got service. The park is basic with level gravel sites and clean bathrooms and laundry. A small, clean dog park is a bonus. We would stay again when passing through. read more
