Lovely interior at Knights Tavern. Old world charm and a great menu.
Gabrielle M.

Our first night at the Knight's Bar was just tremendous, our server, Blanca was delightful-she couldn't have been warmer or more efficient. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the salmon, generous portions and such attractive plating. My fish and chips was the best I've had in years. On night two our travel companions joined us and though we were hoping for another homer in the experience wasn't the same. Our server was adequate but not friendly. Our request for water was forgotten as was our drink order. When our meals came and the drinks didn't arrive our friend canceled the drinks. The manager came over to apologize but rather than comp something on the tab he offered dessert which wasn't something we wanted. Our meals were all great from the vegan curry to the steak, duck and my chicken tandoori flatbread however the service just wasn't up to par. Seemed like there were communication issues tonight.

Total bill for 3 drinks. Very reasonable prices. They were very good as well.

4/11/23- ordered drinks yesterday and today. Good prices and the drinks were very good. Will post photos later. See the prices. Drinks were around 4pm. It's 8pm and we are ordering dinner due to the rain outside and don't want to go outside. Check out the photos and the menu. The seafood chowder was filling and very flavorful for less than 10 euro and the hamburger was very good as well for less then 20 euro. Ordered ice cream and a crepe. Both were very good. Also, this food is for 3 persons. The customer service was great. Total of 5 stars overall from all my visits here.

Delicious espresso martinis!

Excellent fish & chips, and the rigatoni was great too. Very friendly waitstaff and bartender. Castle atmosphere was amazing. A little on the expensive side - but definitely recommend.

Cheeseburger and fries.

Great atmosphere. Super charming bar/lounge. Awesome location in a medieval castle. Good beer, wine, whiskey and cocktails selection. Blah food. We ate at Knight's Bar on the last night of our Ireland vacation. We were very hungry and really wanted to enjoy a tasty, fun meal, but were disappointed. We had drinks at the bar while waiting a good 45 minutes for a table. Drinks were pricey, but fine. The manager wanted to seat us in one of the beautiful window seats in the back, but it just wasn't meant to be as the groups at those tables were there for the long haul. I ordered a cheeseburger since my friends had enjoyed fantastic burgers throughout Ireland, but I had yet to try one. Unfortunately, this one was way overcooked, dry, and lacked flavor. The fries weren't much better. They were cooked fine, but tasted like a freezer. I recommend Knight's Bar as a charming, atmospheric lounge at which to enjoy a drink or two. It's really quite beautiful. However, I don't recommend you order a burger to go with your cocktail.

We came in for a light bite and a drink-enjoyed the smoked salmon and duck bon bon appetizers. Both were delicious and very well presented. We also shared the Parmesan and pesto dressed chips/fries which were also very tasty and well prepared. Service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable.

Our dinner experience at the Knight's Bar was, overall, on the more positive side. After a long day of sight seeing, we checked in and opted to eat dinner at the hotel. I had the Knight's (Chicken) Club (€15.5). It was described as grilled and seasoned with lemon and garlic. Honestly, it tasted quite plain except for the char. It was also extremely dry. The lettuce was crisp, but the tomatoes were very mealy. The sandwich size was impressive and difficult to eat, so I deconstructed it and tackled it with knife and fork. The duck egg was a nice touch and cooked beautifully, and the American-style bacon (odd for Ireland where rasher reigns supreme!) was done well. Finally, the chips were hot and crispy. Service decent. We had to keep flagging down our server, though she had maybe 3 tables total (that I could see) including us. Once we got ahold of her, things were fine and we got our drink refills. The space is nice: on the classier side with an intimate feel (odd because it's a large space). Aside from service, they could improve by ensuring tables are wiped down and salt/pepper is on each one.

Had a great experience at the bar. The bartender started a Guinness pour for me and a butthole frat boy tried to steal it. I spoke up to the bartender and he saved my drink! Excellent service. Snacked on haddock cakes and was pleasantly surprised at the side for a "small bite".

Best meal in Ireland so far! It's definitely worth it to experience the castle and the vibe that's fit for a King and Queen! It's on the pricey side but you're paying for the experience and it's totally worth it. If you're looking to have 1 nice/fancy meal out in Dublin, do it here! (Also make sure you get the parm chunky fries... sooo good!)

Decent. Won't complain because food was ok and the service was good. Outside of that, nothing stood out.

Very quaint little bar with great service ... decent food but hours could be a bit longer for a hotel pub.

The pub is quite large and can accommodate a large party such as ourselves for the afternoon. Lots of TV's to catch a match and craic to feel at home. We had a lovely veg soup upon our arrival to take the cold from the gravesite out of us and get the warmth back in. The soup was piping hot and light enough to leave room for a lovely tea sandwich or two. And the tea sandwiches were served with crunchy rippled cheese and onion crisps (Hunkey Dorys) that complimented the sandwhiches nicely. The service was a bit scattered but can't slag them considering we were quite a large party all at the same time. Once they got going they were friendly and attentive. The Guinness was nice, the tea and they make a lovely Irish Coffee as well. To you Uncle Paddy, it was an honor to sit in your local and celebrate you!

Thought provoking albeit populist musings on systemic corruption in Irish politics are always offered. If hunger in addition to an unquenched thirst draws you to Kenny's then I suggest the Planter's Peanut salad as an appetizer followed by Cheese 'n Onion Lasange. For smokers, the front patio offers spectacular views of the sun setting over Lorcan Avenue.

Why they called it The Bram Stoker I have no idea, once you stepped inside there was nothing to do with Bram to be seen. Anyway, the batman, who I would think was the owner, was very friendly and I ordered a beer. But when I asked about ordering the chicken wings he said he would get some one to come down to me. As it turns out there is a restaurant, called Indigo, down the back of the pub and they cover all the food orders for the pub. It took quite a few mins before she appeared, though she was very friendly. The 'large buffalo wings' left a lot to be desired, they were not large by any sense of the word. I went with the BBQ sauce as she informed me, when I asked, that 'Franks sauce' contained Tabasco. They were alright but they weren't going to fill me up for the night. Before the waitress had come down to me I had asked the barman if he had any newspaper I could read. He said he was sorry he didn't but offered me a tourism magazine he had at the end of the bar. (it was in pristine condition and I would say had only been open a few times) After news, tourism would be my next best read in a pub... And I always like to know what Bord Failte are spewing to the tourists, what crap is m***pages.ie? :p Anyway I digress, finished the food and tried looking for the bill, going to the bar as I couldn't see the young lady, and was informed she would be sent down.... Another few minutes later. All in all the pub and barman were very nice and welcoming, the food delivery situation - and the food itself - leave a bit to be desired. Come in here for a quite pint if you are tired walking along the Coast Rd path..... You can't miss the big sign.

The rooms are very basic - no luxury here, no sir. Hard mattresses, 80's furniture. The afternoon we checked in, a dog in the neighbor's yard (the rooms face a row of residential back yards) barked nonstop for two hours when we were trying to take a nap. The staff seemed baffled when we told them, and not particularly helpful. The staff is the hotel's main weakness. There was a very unfriendly woman waiting tables when we went down to the restaurant and our waiter was an absolute snot. He made it more than clear, waiting on us was a big hassle for him. The reason I give the hotel a three is they have a beautiful, inviting restaurant and a surprisingly great craft beer selection. If they can upgrade the rooms to match the restaurant and fire the rude staff, they might have something.
