Knifewear is the most amazing knife shop I have been to. The selection here is good as they carries knives at different price point. The best part is you can even try out some of the knives before making a purchase! Slice, Chop, Dice Not too easy to make a decision and so many different knives for different purposes. But the staff here is knowledgeable and can answer all your questions! If you are into knives and want to improve your knife skill, come to Knifewear! Trust me, a good knife does makes prepping and cooking a lot more fun!

    Part of the selection.

The Ottawa Knifewear team provides exceptional customer support. The business is one that I will not hesitate to patronize in the future.

I went into the store feeling a bit intimidated due to my general lack of knowledge.

They sell a bunch of different kitchenware items, from knives, to pots and pans, to salt and pepper shakers, cutting boards, and other small items. They don't really have a wide selection, though. They only carry two brands of knives - Henckels and Wusthof. The store is way overpriced! And I don't mean just certain items, I mean the whole store. A small, metal tea strainer was $6 and a wooden spoon was $8, and it was made with porous wood, which is low quality. The space is also quite crowded, though this might be because of the liquidation sale they're currently having. But if they're having this huge sale, why were the prices so much higher than they should have been, ESPECIALLY during a liquidation?! I visited the store with my brother, who is a cook at a fine dining French restaurant in Toronto. He was unimpressed with their selection and prices as well, even for a small store, so I know it wasn't just me that thought so.

I went to the Cookware Centre to purchase a knife set that no one else in Ottawa seemed to sell for…read moremy sister for Christmas. The Ex Boyfriend knife set to be exact. For being a display model it seemed overpriced but I bought it anyways. The gentleman put it in a similar box to what it came in and promptly ripped the box to make everything fit. I brought it home and examined it more closely to notice that one of the rubber pegs to make sure it doesn't slide off the counter was missing and my husband saw that it was scratched. I brought it back to the store to get a refund seeing as how it was the last one and the response I got from them was that all of the knife sets come scratched whether they are new or display and that they would only give me a store credit. I responded with that even though it was damanged they wouldnt give me my money back and that even though they gave me a $10 discount for the box being ripped they still wouldn't budge as its store policy. I paid $150 for this knife set. This store seems like a rip off to me. Now Im stuck with a store cedit and nothing in the store I want to buy. So unless you are positive you NEED something from this store and triple check to make sure it's not damaned, I would not shop there.

I attended a short course in tarts, and it was incredible. The service was over the top. We were…read moretreated so well. While we waited for the course to start we waited in a beautiful lounge area. The kitchen was so well stocked and the support staff was so helpful (students). The chef was also on the TV screens so we didn't miss anything. It was just a great course. We made and took home two tarts - and I am excited to make them at home as well. Just fantastic - I will be back for more courses. The parking was also super easy and they gave us an apron to take home - super cute!

I went into the Cordon Bleu's afternoon tea expecting an afternoon tea experience which I did not…read morereceive anything close to it. First off, there was no loose leaf tea, only bagged, and I was brought a tiny cup of hot water which didn't even fill my mug. Additionally, tea cups were not used. Then, the savories came, and it was not on a three-layer display, as is typical with afternoon tea. These were very yummy though! The chefs came around with more if you so chose which was nice as well. Then, the scones came and they were warmed which was really special. They didn't come with clotted cream as advertised. When I asked, the student went somewhere to double check, and then informed me it was mascarpone. After, the deserts came out and I loved their display; however, our table was then ignored for 15-20 minutes as I tried to flag down someone for more water. That was extremely disappointing as I saw the table next to me be checked up about 5-6 times in between and nobody acknowledged us, even when I was clearly looking around and trying to flag someone down. To their credit, the deserts were fancy, and yummy, and they came around with more if you wanted some. The trolly with marble cake at the end was cute; but wasn't anything special. Overall, I would say this was disappointing and not worth the $95. I know it's students, but for this price point, much higher quality service is to be expected. I wouldn't come back for another event here. I would like to credit the older French man's service. He was very personable, and made the service feel special. It was just a shame when he stopped coming around in the middle because we were then ignored for a while by the others.
