Predatory liars. I won't even go into detail about my own personal experiences with this company; but I will say, with certainty, that they are all liars, from the receptionist in the front, to the accountant at the top. Every positive review they have is coerced, paid, or fake by employees of the business. If you search any of these reviewers on social media it will show you their work history and relatives, and you will see that if they are not relatives, they are employees (both oftentimes) that have written these positive reviews. The truth is, they are a talentless agency that make a mediocre product and they get most of their revenue from the coercion of families through fake and predatory marketing practices. They will scream at you over the phone, and they will make you regret ever dealing with them to begin with. Run away. read more

We were one of those families that got sucked into thinking we'd won a "free" photo session. After everything, we did end up purchasing a decent-sized photo -- about 3'x2' and a few smaller ones-- that we hung up in our home. The photo itself is nice, but the frame started falling apart not long after we got it for the 3'x2' frame. Now we're having to find someone local to fix it, which is really frustrating, especially considering we spent over $5,000 for these photos. It's nothing but a scam to try and get you to spend thousands of dollars on a photo in which they use the exact same poses and styles for every person even when you tell them how you do or don't feel comfortable. Most of the pictures end up looking like Mob boss photos because God forbid you show a little personality. YOU WILL HAVE BETTER AND MORE COST EFFECTIVE PHOTOS TAKEN AT SEARS! Your free photo is tiny and you don't get it until you sit through the most boring bs artsy sales pitch of your life and it doesn't even come framed, which they neglect to tell you. We received ours on flimsy, warped poster board material and I print better pictures from my home printer. Don't buy digital prints because you won't get them. Professional protography my ass. The photographer worked very comfortably with us, the receptionist made fun conversation with us, and the guy who helped us pick our photo to take home was very patient, helpful, and didn't push us to spend extra money. Well that was a lot of fun. I won one of those giveaways on Facebook for pets and their parents. I was a little nervous with all the sketchy reviews but they were very professional on the phone so I went ahead and did the deposit and set a time. Yes there's a deposit for a free session but it is to hold the time slot, when we went in today they specifically mentioned it and that the refund for the deposit would be enacted at the end of the session or put towards an upgraded package if we so chose. They were also very clear that we did not need to upgrade and can walk away with the free session and free 11x14 print. I planned to do just that but had a really nice experience and really liked some of the other options so we did upgrade to a $1500 package with a big ass framed painting + 3 smaller prints and the digital copies plus a face swap on the big painting cus I liked my dogs face in one photo and my face in another. Yes I know I'm ridiculous but the sales guy was super accommodating and personable which made it worth it. Also they had dog treats and pup cups and grapes which felt silly but was quite the luxury experience. The photographer was very patient with my crazy pups and had duck calls to get their attention and everything. I can't wait to get our stuff in the mail, he said to expect them before thanksgiving so I am excited to shift around decorations for the holidays! read more

We had our pictures done with our dogs today after being selected for the session. The team was very welcoming and did great but we were not expecting for portrait prices to start at $1,000 for one portrait and go up to $24,000. The pictures were beautiful and we are thankful for the opportunity but the prices were very high! read more

We won one of their free packages and were even put up in a beautiful hotel since we live a ways away. The gentleman who worked with us in the studio was so kind and was great with our daughter! He captured so many beautiful photos of our family. In the end we were able to accept our free portrait with very little pushing from the gentleman who does the ordering. His job is to upsell you, and he did offer us all of the options, but was not pushy when we declined. I did have a USPS problem where our portrait had been folded and crammed in the mailbox, but with a quick call to the studio, they were able to order a new one and it showed up last night. It's more beautiful than I could have possibly imagined and we are so thankful for this opportunity! read more

In all it's a substandard business model that reflects multiple negative experiences that I have had, as well as most of the people I have spoken with who have had pictures taken at this establishment. I entered a contest for the One & Only Project to feature my kiddo in a portrait for my home, won!, was contacted by the studio to schedule our appointment. Since we were coming from out of town, they also arranged our hotel stay in a beautiful suite nearby! The team at Davy Knapp Photography is amazing; communication about the session and artistic direction, ideas for clothing and even providing shoes from their closet when we forgot dress shoes! I finally received my pet portrait 11 weeks after having it done. I still will never recommend this business to anyone.

Beautiful pictures, but unless your budget is $3000 or more...don't bother. Even if you "win" one of their promotional contests. After two phone calls expressing my concerns and asking about pricing, I was told they would work with me to build an affordable package. I took the chance and took my family (5 adult children, all with full time jobs and 2 grandkids) to the appointment. Everyone was nice. The facility was nice. The photographer was nice and the sales guy was super nice. We had fun and some of the photos were stunning. The problem was I couldn't afford to walk out with anything unless I did a payment plan. It was disappointing and felt like a waste of our time and theirs. I don't knock their quality of work or their customer service...their prices are their prices. They cater to a specific clientele. That's perfectly fine. I am giving them this review for their lack of transparency and integrity. If someone tells you that they are on a budget and they ask for a price range to determine if they should make the appointment in the first place....BE OPEN AND HONEST about it. Don't hook them with the free sitting and 11x14 photo then reel them in only to try to pressure-sale them to go into debt for pics they obviously would like to have of their loved ones. It's quite sickening actually. Update - as a part of the promotion, I was told I would get a refund of my $75 deposit I paid in order to schedule the appt. 4 days later, just out of curiosity, I called to follow up on that. Be aware if you win a "sweepstakes" My husband and I won a couple's sweepstakes. Seemed legit as I had talked to others who had also won and enjoyed their experience. They called, we booked, and they charged our credit card (said it was to hold the day, and would be taken off when we arrive). I was leery about this, especially reading other bad reviews on here. We were also told we'd get a hotel room paid for and the whole experience would be totaled at $1000. The other people I'd talked to said they were in Amarillo so they couldn't speak on how legit that was. I had a bad feeling about this, so I called and cancelled within the 7 days so I wouldn't get charged the $140 already on my card. I called, cancelled, and they did return my money on my credit card but not without very rude demeanor as well as doing whatever they could to keep me. Its' been 5 days and now I got credit card fraud from Amarillo, TX. Is there a coincidence, maybe.... but very weird. I do believe they are nice, and probably great photos. SCAM!! BEWARE!! I got a call telling me I'd won a contest and how lucky I was. They offered to do a family portrait and put us up in a hotel. When we got there the hotel had NO knowledge of Davy Knapp covering the hotel bill. When we arrived to get our pics taken we were greeted by overtly excited staff who made us very uncomfortable. I informed them of the hotel situation and they said they would take care of it. But in the end we had to pay for some of it. After waiting for a long time we were ushered into a studio. Some family pics were taken and then the photographer took the kids aside and took their pics one at a time. They would not answer my questions as to why, just said I would see. We felt VERY uncomfortable. I kept asking to see and was told no. We put into extreme poses that I told him hurt. I had been in a car accident and have back, hip and neck injuries along with a traumatic brain injury which makes communication very difficult at times. I told them but was dismissed and felt awful. When we were done we had to meet with someone to go over the pics. They made it seem as if they were going to include the pics of my kids but that wasn't the case. In the viewing room the sales guy oiled his way around the room. Overly flattering and talking to our kids like a used car salesman. He used every tactic to coerce and push his agenda. He did it on my children!! We were appalled and tried to leave with just the photo we won but instead he showed the kids their pics and told them they looked like CEO's and that they had to have these pics. They really put us on the spot. He tried to upsell bigger and better but have little wall space we said no. Thousands of $ later we felt manipulated and bait and switched. I cried all night. I called the next day but received no callback. Conveniently they lost the voicemail & no callback. The pics are horrible. Everyone looks like they have chocolate milk mouth. I want a refund! They are so dark and unflattering, no smiling we were cheated! read more
