Absolutely stay away. Incompetent, overpriced, underhanded. They were asked to install a simple door bell I had purchased, a simple one person job. It was the one the security guy told me to get, which I did. They sent two men. When they got there they said they could hook up the old one. I said, if you can do that then go ahead. At the end of the day they were not able to do that and charged me $600 for nothing accomplished, no doorbell working. Returned to install the one I wanted installed in the first place "for free?" after paying $600 for nothing. Hilarious! I should never have paid it. I can kick myself for having done so. Who would have the nerve to stand there hand out for $600 after accomplishing nothing? Then they said they would give me an estimate for installing front and rear sensor flood lights and they would take off some money to compensate but I never received that estimate in my email and of course for them it would be a two man job. He told me it would be $575 for labor only for the front, but I wanted front and back. He said he'd work it up that night and email it to me which he did not. I had Brighter Electric install the floodlights very high on the house and install light switches for each. One man did the job for the same amount of money KN charged me to do a simple doorbell install, which they finally did do but never compensated me for the over payment. Not reliable. I'm sorry to have to say. Brighter Electric is amazing. Efficient and cleans up after every step of the way. I am very happy with Brighter. The cost of the labor alone was the same as the cost of labor for the non-job by KN and finally what I asked for, the installation of a simple doorbell I had already purchased. That install should not have been more than a couple hundred and I'm certain Brighter would have done it for $150. Rip off city at KN. Two men for a doorbell. Really? Dennis wasn't there so he only knows what his guys told him. Also add lackadaisical to the list. They were over an hour late scheduled for first thing in morning. After an hour I called Dennis to see where they were. He had to call to find out. The excuse was there was an emergency job. Riiiiiight. If so, why did they not call to let me know? Dennis would have known in the first place had that really been the case. Btw I am a retired senior citizen to boot. I paid $600, got $50 given back, for a job that should have been $150, not $1100 to put a chime on one side of the wall and a button on the other side. read more
