Coffey said it was the thermostat, and charged me $372. A big difference from $7K. Needless to say, I won't be going back to the shop that tried to cheat me. Months later trying to sell the car ran a CARFAX report that flagged a big mileage discrepancy which almost caused the buyer to back out of the deal until examining the receipt closely. The technician entered our zip code for the mileage, only a 70K mile error, their bad. It will take a month or so for CARFAX to be corrected, fortunately the buyer has a sense of humor.
