Drivers coming down the hill at ridiculous speeds and wet conditions!.. Me being particular and more cautious, because I have my furrbabies in the car!.. I wish they would update on the accident .. Saw the EMT performing vital checks on the driver -he was actually slouched over the airbag.. (hope he's okay), his vehicle ripped apart.. You'd think after seeing this, traffic would be driving slower.. nope they continued above the speed limits! Just thankful we made it safely to and from.

I have experienced the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I originally intended to sign up for internet service but was persuaded to add a phone line as well. Unfortunately, I have now been without the ability to receive calls or send text messages for 14 days. Every day, I am told to wait another 24 hours while the issue is supposedly being worked on, yet there has been no resolution. I have repeatedly been given the same answer without any meaningful progress. I was even told that my options were to purchase a new phone number or buy a new phone. When I attempted to purchase a new phone to resolve the problem, I was informed that this process would also take another 24 hours. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and unacceptable. I have invested an unreasonable amount of time trying to fix an issue that was created during the activation process. I expected a resolution, appropriate compensation for the loss of service, and a clear explanation of why this has taken two weeks without a solution. Now I have a new phone number and have lost my number that I have had for 20 years.

It was a moving documentary and I learned quite a lot from it. I'm glad KVIE hosted this important event. It was eye opening and somber, but also hopeful as the documentary shows the resilience of those Japanese American families who lived those times of injustice. The studio itself was very cold, we were in the big official studio, but the overflow room and it was very cold, probably the same for the studio itself as we were told that have to do that for the equipment or whatnot. The event also had some small bites provided by Fuji Restaurant on Broadway which is Japanese American family-owned, so definitely support them. There were also wines for tasting from Mikami family of vitners. Very generous of both of them. Afterwards, there was a time for q & a from the audience to a panel of Japanese American historians and other community members who have special insights to provide further info on this sad time in our country's history. All in all, this was a very meaningful event and I'm glad we were invited to attend and also got to check out the KVIE building and studios.

Adj: friendly local PBS channel station with viewer events…read more A few months ago, I attended an event here to commemorate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. It was a preview of a documentary on the Japanese Incarceration experience. So this event was somewhat somber, as the documentary depicted a sad and terrible chapter of our nation's history when the powers that be treated Japanese American citizens as foreign enemies and incarcerated them as well as took away their civil and property rights, etc. The event itself started with check-in and then some hor d'oeuvres and drinks (both alcoholic from Mikami Vineyards (owner's family experienced the Japanese Incarceration, and non-alcoholic varieties). Then those who RSVP'd early enough went into the official viewing studio and the rest of us stayed in the community room. We watched the documentary which was very moving and really touched my heart. I learned a lot of historic facts and also heard the experiences of several families who were affected and whose lives were turned upside down (to put mildly). Afterwards, there was a live Q & A time with a panel of community members, experts, and historians. They brought deep personal insights and lessons our nation should learn to the forefront through this time of interaction with the audience. Overall, this was a wonderful event and the KVIE building has pretty good facilities and the KVIE staff who hosted this event were friendly, helpful, and I learned a lot from this event and enjoyed the experience.

Almost a week ago I had the opportunity to join my daughter for an in-studio segment at Studio 40 Live with Gary Gelfand and Scott Moak focusing on local small businesses. She was one of the featured entrepreneurs and I was just there to assist her. My assignment was to take pictures and videos during the segment LoL! At the time we were setting up, I got to see how a studio operated behind the scenes. It's actually pretty cool. Sonseeahray Tonsall was the anchor doing the midday news at the studio. I was careful not to get in the way of the one-man camera crew while broadcasting... there were a lot of countdown cues for when she needs to get back on live from a cut to a news interview from the field or from a commercial break. My daughter did her segment along with four others scheduled that day, cameras shifted focusing from one corner to another... ahh, so that's how they do it. As I waited, I was hoping to not get someone from outside of the U.S. because despite their attempt to assist customers, the language barrier can make it challenging as I have experienced it in the past with other DirecTV technical issues. The IVR routed me to a pleasant representive named Dymond who stated she is part of the Elite Care Team - Chicago, IL. I was relieved to hear of this upon her introduction. I immediately thanked her for taking my call & for being within the states. I explained that in the past I had encountered some challenging calls with reps from other countries. She was quite a delight to speak to & she took extra steps to look into the issue at hand. Dymond expressed her sincerest apologies for the inconvenience & helped me resolve the error. She informed me she notated my account for the error in case I had to call back. Thank you Dymond for a great experience providing me with stellar customer service! I would hope to speak with you again in the future should I need further assistance.
