Good afternoon from the studio FOX40 newsroom at KTXL-TV here in Sacramento... Almost a week ago I had the opportunity to join my daughter for an in-studio segment at Studio 40 Live with Gary Gelfand and Scott Moak focusing on local small businesses. She was one of the featured entrepreneurs and I was just there to assist her. My assignment was to take pictures and videos during the segment LoL! At the time we were setting up, I got to see how a studio operated behind the scenes. It's actually pretty cool. Sonseeahray Tonsall was the anchor doing the midday news at the studio. I was careful not to get in the way of the one-man camera crew while broadcasting... there were a lot of countdown cues for when she needs to get back on live from a cut to a news interview from the field or from a commercial break. My daughter did her segment along with four others scheduled that day, cameras shifted focusing from one corner to another... ahh, so that's how they do it. Although I don't watch the news much the experience was cool and interesting. I get my news from Facebook LoL! This is FOX 40 Live... and that's a wrap. Review #2756 read more

Sacramento FOX 40 does not show tge best NFL game in the time slot - sometimes they don't show a game at all! It's very frustrating- I m3an week 18 & they're showing Buccaneers v Saints when other games seem more important. read more

Watched the news for the first time in a long time today. I caught the 9am Sacramento Fox 40 news. I couldn't believe how bad it was A lot of jumbling words, mispronounced words, and unneccessary commentary. The weather guy seemed so nervous and out of place. Maybe the news has changed. read more

This used to be my 5 star station over the years ( I am 80 years old ) I got so used to seeing my favorite news team and when they disappear so quickly it is like loosing someone close to me . Long gone are the Glory Days of the station's morning show. Years ago, when hosted by Paul Robins and Bethany Crouch, this program was both professional and fun. I would have given one star, but the professionalism and appeal of both Adam Epstein and Melanie are undeniable. The field reporters are excellent also. Richard Sharp, on the other hand, can't seem to form complete sentences without tripping over his tongue. Mae Fesai was also a train wreck, but seems to have finally been vanquished from the program. It was long overdue, and I hope she's getting help. In most respects, the morning broadcast is total amateur television. Do yourself a favor, and watch something else. read more

Fox 40 Evening News with Ty Steele I have not wanted to watch much of the news in a long time. Just too much negative stuff going on. No good news or if there is there is not much of it. But I do watch the evening news with Ty. He delivers the news well so professional and and he is so genuine and like able,he is a real asset to your station. I watch Fox 40 news in the morning almost everyday. Well, I may return to watching Good Morning America. It is so frustrating to watch such a poorly organized news program. First of all, let's start with the horrible camera person. At least three times now, this morning included, the camera person focuses on inanimate objects instead of the human talking!!! It is unbelievable. They visited a restaurant a couple of weeks ago, and instead of focusing on the gentleman speaking, the camera person was all over the place. I prefer to hear what the people have to say versus several different views of food!! Geez it's terrible camera work. Paul, Martina, Olivia, Pedro and the much missed Gary Gelfand are the only reason to watch this program. Please get a more professional show organized. As well as, a camera person that knows how to focus on the human talking!! read more

I've been watching the morning show since they first started. I love the positive energy and how the talent works well together. I miss Paul, of course. But I still love the show. It took me a bit to get used to Adam, mostly because I learned sooo much from Darrin Peck. But I love how Adam and Pedro interact together. Mae is adorable and all the ladies do a great job. I don't understand the complaints about political bias. I watch them because they talk very little about politics, nor do they provide commentary. read more

You have got to get rid of Mai and Melanie when they anchor together. They remind me of two air heads. They are so unprofessional and immature. All we want to hear is the news delivered in a professional manner. And, Mai looks like she's on the make with her unprofessional wardrobe. I really like everyone else. I watch (sort of watch) the AM news show because I like to see Chroma Kitty but that's about it! I miss Paul. He was the best on there. He was professional and kept his VIEWS out of the stories. The worse is Mae!! She's HORRIBLE. Every time they have to report a story on Trump, watch her face and she'll actually sit there and SIGH out loud. We get it Mae - you're a drama queen and flaming liberal! But you are supposed to be a news reporter - KEEP your obvious opinions to yourself! I don't care what side you're on. STAY neutral! Watch that sour face of hers whenever Trump is the story and watch her start smiling whenever a democrat is reported. If Obama is mentioned, she can't stop smiling and overly gushing. Watch the a.m. news regularly with few criticisms. Just have to make this one however. ATT: Paul Robins. While doing the segment 6/15 on the search for the east Sac rapist you commented that the "gentleman" rapist might not even still be alive. Excuse me....? the "gentleman"?? Check Webster's and learn the correct definition of a gentleman. You should have referred to him as a suspect, a person of interest, the man, or other adjectives but please, not a gentleman. The "Antenna TV" network on channel 40.2 was the only channel I could actually stay tuned to for hours on end, due to its NOT having a constant onscreen logo as the major networks do. However beginning on March 17th, KTXL has started putting the network's logo onscreen themselves! (It is not on the network's feed as those in other areas are still seeing it with a clean picture.) They've ruined the best thing about this channel! They were not using a logo on their main channel for the past several months, but they brought it back on March 17, the same day they started ruining their .2 channel. It's even larger than it was before. They've also added a 3rd channel carrying the "This" network, which not only has a constant logo but also heavily censors its movies, making it the most useless channel on the air. read more

WOW!! People are brutal on here. One person below (Bob B) has apparently dedicated his life to watching the morning show just to trash it on here.. WHY? If you don't like it,, DON'T WATCH IT!!! Paul is a stand-up classy guy who always exhibits impartial professionalism with a hint of his own opinion. That is difficult to do but Paul does it perfectly. The Women have changed faces often but are all beautiful and professional. It looks like a young blonde lady was given a chance to prove herself on-air and has transformed from a rookie into a semi-pro in a short time. I watched the 6pm news tonight and was very saddened and disappointed to see both news anchor's laughing about a story they covered of a poor women stealing hams and other things by shoving the items in her oversized skirt. Although stealing is wrong and never a way of getting anything, the laughter while covering the story was just tasteless, insensitive, and rude. Won't be watching Fox News if this is the type of people they hire to cover local news. read more

I really enjoy the morning news at 7. Especially Paul Robbins and Bethany are very professional ! Paul is a throwback. I like the way he does his homework before interviewing people. Always asks the right informative questions! Very smart,very knowledgable and funny. Eric out in the field does a great job! I like Derren Peck as meteorologist, doesn't try too hard to be funny gets to the point and gives us our weather. The one weak spot as far as I'm concerned would have to be Sheldon Orbits. Don't know who he's trying to be, hate his hair , seems kind if arrogant to me. Rich the officer does the road report and then Sheldon pretty much does the same thing. He is the lone outcast of the bunch. I am a young adult, I am very much hip to styles and what I want to see in news castors. I watch your program because of the proffessionalism. Swear to God Sunday mornings when Fox News Sunday comes on the lone maintenance guy cuts the signal to the broadcast signal! Both sides of the 8 a.m. morning shows or some pre-emptive sports show are fine, but when FNS comes on, I immediately get a blue screen! Selective prejudice? Never mind, Fox! She must have thought she was at a sorority party and not a news show .She was an annoying distraction who dressed inappropriately and acted like a ditz on an entertainment show . I like Mae , Bethany , Paul Robbins and especially Rina Nakano. I would like to see Rina play a larger role in the morning show. Paul is a true professional. I really enjoy watching news on fox 40 but it is disturbing to see Sarah Acosta laughing for every news, including the most tragic ones and there she is with those teeth out. Very unprofessional!!! New format is a not quite making it. Music doesn't fit. Ladies are over done and trying to hard to be like cable fox news. Beth has toned down her Fredericks of Hollywood dress code. Guys are great still professional. All in all first news I watch in the morning before turning to cable. read more

I have always enjoyed watching the news and thought Fox did a good job with what was going on locally. I also think the staff are personable and do a nice job. I have a difficult time with the degree of violence that is shown repeatedly. Photos of severely beaten animals or people are images I cannot get out of my head. I find it burdensome in the evening when it is the last thing I see before I go to sleep. Tonight I had to turn it off after a series of violent stories. Did they really have to show the prostitute being punched in the face 6 or more times? Followed by photos of the dog that was almost starved to death by owner. In between was the photo of the 9 year old that was hatcheted to death by his father. Enough. There was more, but that was the top three that pushed me over the edge. In my opinion that was not reporting news, that was sensationalizing the horrible dark side of peoples bad behavior. read more
