Walked ...well drove in and he told me it would take 15 min. When I came back the smog check was done. He had looked under the hood and found a rat must have taken residence in there. He showed me some paw prints and the wires it started chewing on... and he suggested to put dryer sheets under the hood or chewing tobacco and the smell would keep the rats out. Hope it works! I went here yesterday. Called to see if there was a wait and there wasn't any. When I arrived, the guy pulled my car up as I filled out the little bit of my information. He said it would be about 10 minutes. So I meandered over to 7-11, made a round about the store, came back, sat down, and he was backing my car out. SURRIOUSLY?? The surly technician broke the release lever on my steering wheel and didn't tell me what happened until I went back and confronted him. Who breaks a car and then lets the customer drive away? Irresponsible at best. I would give them zero stars if I could. The guy who used to work there two years ago last time I came here was nice. Wow... Avoid this place like the plague. I have now tried, twice to use their service. First time their dyno was broken, but I have a 4 wheel drive so it made no difference. Two years later, I showed up at 8 am since they open at 8, finally left at 8:30 when nobody had showed up and tie other cars were also waiting. Ain't nobody got time for that. read more

When here to get a smog test and it was extremely easy and quick. Everyone who worked there was very friendly.

First of all the place is $10+ more than any other smog test station. I have now been there twice (because it is closest to my house) and the gentleman that runs it (Joseph Pettigrew) is extremely rude. Both times I went there he was intentionally rude. This past time I pulled up and the gate was open so I pulled in front and went to look for him. He then came up behind me and said "why yes, I DO need you to move". I am a potential customer looking for help to get my car smogged and that was how he greeted me. Not "hi, is that your car? I have a car ahead of you but if you can park your car over there I will get to you in a bit." He has been this way both times I have been there. I will not go back. read more

Needed a smog check. Called Debbie at KM, who was very helpful answering my questions. Showed up at 9 am and only one person ahead of me who was completed quickly. Jim was very prompt in completing the testing and I was finished in about 15 minutes (max). Although he didn't have to do this, he called me over to show me some indications that animals (rats) were trying to make a home in my engine compartment and offered some suggestions on how to avoid that. I'm sold...great customer service all around. Use them...I've already told my two sons in the area about KM. read more

The owner actually cursed at me because I apparently failed to park in the correct area - which is not marked in any visible way as he shares a lot with 2 other businesses. I promptly left since I refuse to do business with anyone like this. Instead, I headed to Car MRI at 6620 Miramar Road - 10 mins away. Well worth it. I found their internet coupon and spoke to them on the phone to confirm the true cost. They charged me exactly as quoted on the phone including the certificate fee -$49 for a 2003 V8, no appointment needed. They also would have re-tested for free had the car not passed. Their service was quick with just one person ahead of me. They have a pleasant waiting area. Their adept and kind office manager was great. She had the paperwork done as soon as the testing was complete. I especially liked that the mechanic was paying attention to what was happening around him even while he monitored testing - neither I nor the office manager had to tell him where my car was parked - he had noticed when I walked in, picked up the my key from the clipboard and went directly to it. It was intermittently sprinkling while I was there and the mechanic pulled the car under the carport so I would not get wet when it was ready. Their location is freeway close, easy to access and has roomy parking. I will be a repeat customer. read more

Was so disappointed!!! First off the tech was dressed like a slob, clapping hands to have me come to bay, instead of walk to May car and saying ready. Didn't say good morning acted like I was doing him a favor. Jumped in car and said would smog because engine light was on. I told him it was transmitting problem and would it pass he said no. Okay I don't want you to smog. Got out of car and gave back my renewal paperwork. Not a thank you or anything. I asked if he was having a bad morning he said no. I told hi I think he was rude and he started to raise his voice and me and call me all kinds of cuss words. So much for good customer service. Do not take your car to this site. read more

They don't take appointments so I called ahead first thing in the morning, and went right over when Joe said no one else was there yet. Of course there was no guarantee that someone wouldn't show up before I arrived 5 minutes later, but I was lucky. With that, the Smog Check was complete in about 15 minutes. AAA discount applied, and I was back in the now-certified car and on my way home. Joe even parked the car in the shade when he was done with it! Great service! read more
