Article 15 Bar & Grill - Prime Rib Dinner with Home Fries

If you weren't looking for it or didn't know it was there, you'd never find it. Pretty modern looking brick structure, loaded with US Military decorations. There were a few tables outside with a great view of the lake and a handful of tables inside. Most everyone was seated at the bar. A pool table, air hockey game, a pin all machine, and a jukebox provided entertainment. We got mozzarella sticks and cheese curds for appetizers. Both were tasty! They use some sort of seasoning that made them extra good. A few of our group had a simple hamburger, cheeseburger, and bacon cheese burger. No complaints! I tried the Article 15 burger. Admittedly, it looked like a mess when it came. Pretzel bun, tasty burger patty, cheese, cole slaw, and a ton on their namesake sauce. The sauce covered the bottom of the basket. It was an awesome burger!! The coleslaw was amazing and the sauce was a perfect compliment. Also, my side, their home fries, were really good! Another person in our group got the breaded shrimp and she was raving about it. "Up north" here in Pound, WI the service is a little bit slower than we are used to, but it was not a bad wait. There was only one bartender/waitress and a cook. They both were working hard to take care of everyone. Well worth the short wait for everything. Highly recommend this hidden gem!!

Might be the best fish fry we have ever had! Wow this was really good! Located on the outskirts of…read moreSturgeon Bay, as we pulled up we noticed the vehicles parked on the street. The parking lot was full so we parked on the street on the other side of the restaurant. Usually a good sign when a place is that busy, especially early in the evening. Since their patio was full we decided to order our meal to go and do some car side dining. We were told about 30 minutes. Also a very nice gesture by the staff that offered a glass of water while we waited. Before we knew it, our meals came out. The perch was perfect and there were so many pieces. Tender and flaky with a light and tasty breading. Homemade tartar sauce, coleslaw and potato salad that had some pickles in it. Fries were also crispy and hot. It seems like as we ate our fish, there were more pieces stacked below. Probably at least 6 pieces. Our meal also came with some rye bread with butter. We talked about how great this meal was for quite a while. Friday night fish fry is legendary in WI. This was a legendary meal!

Food is good, hours are wonky but we don't complain, ambiance is on the most beautiful place with fast efficient service. I remember as a kid the game room and bar that stuck out taking up the entire restaurant. Then our distant cousin bought it, reconstructed the inside and began selling pizza but closed then after and sold to someone who named it "the Tin plate" (didn't last long at all lol..) and now the current owners - which is a perfect fit. Always top tier service, so SO glad to see this place serve its intended purpose exactly how it's supposed to be

The Bang Bang sauce is not spicy, so I jazzed it up w hot sauce. Great service from Taylor Rose and Abby. The manager-man checks in w customers, which is good. Casual sports bar vibe. Several booths in the bar area and a separate dining room. The place gets jammin' busy.

Usually, that's a possible issue. as there are no specialties and everything is mediocre. Not the case today,or when I visited with two friends a couple months back in June. Today, we enjoyed a fish dinner, schwarma, burger, and pretzel - quite a range! The Pickle Fries as an appetizer were a hit - a must try, perfect timing as the state fair is setting up for next week. Huge beer menu, local tastes and many from downstate and beyond. It all came out so quickly. I waited longer for a chicken sandwich at Wendy's in Gaylord on the way up here than I did for a full meal here. Their remodeled dining area has comfortable seats (boot today, table on the previous visit) and is well-lit. Those that wanted to watch live sports could do so while having a great dining experience. Highly recommended. especially over local places with similar menus like Herford and Hops, but much better food and service here.
