She tells me she can't provide one without seeing the tree. I tell her it's a normal sized tree in a residential back yard, and i'm not looking for a verbal contract, just a ballpark range for their services. She repeats her prior statement, with obvious disgust and frustration in her voice, that their crew has to come out and inspect before any estimate can be provided. Really? I'm sure people call for this sort of occurrence all the time and you can't give me a range of typical prices? I called the guy who mows my lawn and he took care of it the same day for $900.

I knew I needed one tree cut down, as it was diseased and dying. They cut it down, trimmed and crowned our trees, removed 'volunteer' trees, and a lot of (I am embarrassed to admit) overgrown brush in the 'back forty,' which I tended to avoid in hopes it would go away. They were quick, and picked everything up (including previous branches that had fallen after spring storms) and hauled it all away. Later, they returned to grind the stump of the removed tree.
