I had a very uncomfortable and concerning experience with this dental office and would strongly…read morecaution others before going here. I scheduled a new patient appointment approximately two months in advance. Prior to being seen, I was encouraged to enroll in the office's dental membership program months before my actual visit, which was unusual and, in hindsight, appears financially motivated rather than patient-focused. The appointment lasted close to two hours, yet I only spent approximately 20 minutes with the dentist. During that time, the dentist made unsolicited and unsubstantiated claims about my overall health, stating she could identify "gut issues" based on my appearance. She then strongly pressured me to see a specific outside provider charging approximately $1,600 per visit, and implied that any dental treatment would fail if I did not follow her recommendation. This was inappropriate, outside the standard scope of dental care, and presented in an alarmist and coercive manner. The interaction was distressing enough that I left the office in tears. After my appointment, I attempted multiple times to obtain information about my X-rays, recommended treatment, and an estimate of costs. I called the office approximately 10 times, and each time I was told that staff were unsure and would follow up, but I never received a clear response. I was eventually told that this information could not be provided over the phone, which had not been communicated to me previously. The lack of clear communication and inability to provide basic information about my treatment plan added to the overall confusion and frustration. Following this experience, I attempted to cancel the membership. My written cancellation request was ignored, and my card continued to be charged. I was only able to stop the charges by contacting the third-party provider (Clerri) directly. Only then did the office acknowledge the cancellation. I was not provided with any information indicating that cancellation had to be completed through a third-party provider, and this requirement was not clearly communicated to me. Even after cancellation, the office continued to send repeated messages attempting to schedule appointments, despite no indication that I wished to return. Subsequently, I was told I was responsible for paying the full cost of services (cleaning and X-rays) that had already been covered under the membership plan. When I requested written documentation or a policy supporting this retroactive billing, none was provided despite multiple requests. Attempting to charge patients for previously covered services without a clearly disclosed policy raises serious concerns regarding billing transparency and fairness. I did not receive or sign any documentation clearly stating that this was a yearly membership or that I would be financially responsible for the full cost of services if I chose to cancel early. The office also indicated that they would send the disputed balance to collections, despite not providing documentation supporting the charge. Additionally, the office failed to provide my dental records, including X-rays, after I requested them. The office indicated that records would be released once the balance was resolved, suggesting that access to records may be contingent on payment. Overall, this experience raises significant concerns regarding ethical standards, billing practices, and respect for patient rights. I would strongly advise others to exercise caution before seeking care at this office.

There is also a small parking lot in the back. When I enter the building, I go downstairs for general dentistry. There is a small waiting room with a few chairs and the hygienist will bring you back to the room when ready. I never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes before meeting the hygienist. From February 2022 to September 2024, I went to Capitol Hill Dental for all my dental visits mostly for just cleaning and exams. The front desk staff and hygienist were always very friendly and we had great conversations. My teeth came out clean and were healthy. During my visit in September 2024, the staff informed me that next month Corporate has moved the general dentistry dentist and hygienist to another office and this location was going to be closed. They offered me to make my next appointment in that other office in Johnston or Scituate or to change dental offices. I decided to look for another dentist office in Providence since it is more convenient.

I started coming here about 10 years ago when I wanted to find a dentist closer to my house and felt the quality of his work was starting to slip. I was assigned to Dr. Puerini Jr, and it has been a good fit right from the start. He takes my opinions into account, and is not overly pushy recommending unwanted treatments like some dentist do to pay for their fancy cars or kids college tuition. All his treatments have been mostly pain free, and his assistants (I think they are Britney and Jean) have been very nice as well. I must also give a good shout-out to my hygienist Bree who takes good care of me twice a year. Everyone at the front desk has also been pleasant and helpful. The office is very comfortable and no latex products are used if that is a concern. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist in the greater Providence area.

I would highly recommend this dental practice to everyone - they are One of a Kind!

So when my husband finally decides he needs to see the dentist immediately it's almost impossible to get an appointment right away. The last time my husband was in severe pain he found Dr Merjik, who is able to get in that very day. Unlike most dentists who always want to do a cleaning x-rays and a check up before even emergency work is performed, Dr Merjik did exactly what my husband asked him to do, in a timely manner, and although it was a painful procedure my husband found it to be bearable and professional. The doctor has been wonderful with my husband. He takes every insurance possible, and my husband once again waited too long to see him, and was able to call the doctor directly on his cell phone to receive penicillin prior to his appointment. I cannot say enough good about this Dr finally a dentist we can stick with.

The staff is SUPER friendly and make you feel very welcome. They even had the idea to schedule my families cleaning appointments at the same time so no one has to wait for the anyone to be finished and we can get on with our day. GENIUS!! (They have multiple dental hygienists that handle the cleanings) They also make it easy to connect with them and can send you reminders by phone, text, or email - your preference. They are kid friendly and have exercised kindness and care when in appointments with my kids to ensure they have wonderful interactions here and feel safe and comfortable in the dentist chair. A few other reviews mention that the pricing scale may be a bit more than other places - to be honest, I've never been concerned with the cost, but I would never sacrifice my comfort or peace of mind to save a few bucks. The care and support you receive here is worth every penny. Pro tip: They have a referral program, so each time you refer a new patient there's something in it for you (to date, I've referred almost a dozen friends and coworkers!) Follow them on Facebook for advanced notice about any specials they may be advertising on the Zoom! tooth whitening system and other items.

ALL the staff go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. Procedures are explained very thoroughly, which alleviates a great deal of anxiety. Before any work is done, they go over your record, asking if there have been any changes to your health, current medications, etc. They're always asking "Are you okay?" or "Do you need anything?" or just stop when you signal to ask a question or take a breather. They never "dismiss" you and listen very carefully to anything you need to convey. (That's a HUGE plus in my book!) Compassion & quality time are first and foremost. Their finance department makes all the charges understandable and will set up the best possible payment plan for you, if that is what you need. If I could give TEN stars I would!
