I was here to hear a presentation on Sharks. It was presented by the National Geographic Society. Dr. Jess Cramp spoke along with a slide show presentation of the sharks, showing us many different ones, from quite small to very large, and some with many rows of teeth. She has lived in many places, most recently in Nauru, north of the Cook Islands where she also lived and was instrumental in creating the Cook Islands Shark sanctuary

Went for Little Kids 2025 with my granddaughter who is 3. Program started 20 min late because people were not sitting down when asked to. Then when seated finally, adults continued to talk during whole performance. It was a good concept to introduce different instruments to children and the sounds each one makes. First song was old McDonald which was fine and kids enjoyed. But, each instrument was introduced, then a new verse of same song with each. By the second instrument, the kids had lost interest. The whole program was 30 minutes. To make it more interesting, they could have done a few more children's songs or even a short regular piece. I have always enjoyed listening to the BPO and am proud they are part of the community. I do support them often and have always enjoyed listening I was hoping to give my granddaughter a very good first experience. Next time a children's program is offered, I will call for more information on what the song lineup will be.

This is, of course, a world-class venue with impeccable acoustics and facilities, and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra compares favorably to the best I've heard throughout the world. On this evening, I got to hear maestro Ron Spigelman conducting a Disney magic performance. Maestro Spigelman brings an energy to this orchestra that is palpable. When CDs and DVDs and canned music just don't do it, Kleinhans Music Hall is the place to go in Western New York.

What a lovely opportunity to see Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart and our own Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) this afternoon. As COVID-19 numbers/cases are increasing, Kleinhans & the BPO are taking strict precautions to protect everyone. Concertgoers are required to be fully-vaccinated (and show proof) as well as remain fully masked for the entirety of the performance, except when eating and/or drinking in the Mary Seaton hall. The only disappointment was for the two attendees who blatantly gave no regard to the announcement at the beginning of the show which directed everyone to silence their cell phones and mobile devices. It was embarrassing for Mr. Lockhart to actually stop the performance because of the ring tone (at the quietest part of the piece) but for a second device to interrupt, I'm actually impressed that he didn't simply end the show then & there. He was; however, gracious enough to autograph our program. My mom has been a long-time fan and was thrilled he took a moment to speak with us.

This a beautiful venue for all sorts of theatrical performances especially performances by the amazing BPO and traveling groups. I saw straight no chaser in this space and it was amazing! The staff is always very friendly and helpful to. But I can not get over the terrible parking situation here. We arrived into the circle Kleinhans is in almost an hour before the show even began. The streets where already backed up and by the time we slowly crept our way to the parking entrance lots where already full. For a venue that can hold over 2,000 people you think they'd have the parking to support it. Street parking sucks to. Chances are you'll be making a sloppy parallel park about a half mile away from the building if your any later than an hour prior to show time. Arrive very very very very early for shows here! Your feet will thank you!

Attended The Music of Queen as part of the yearly BPO Rocks series last night. The show was EXCELLENT. The lead vocalist Brody Dolyniuk has performed there previously and always put on a great show. For anyone that's not quite sure if a philharmonic orchestra is your cup of tea you should check out the BPO Rock series. That could ease you in and you may be surprised and discover something new to enjoy! The show was a sell out, including standing room so naturally the lines for the rest rooms and bars were long but everyone in our party managed to get back to their seats in time during intermission. The building itself is not overly impressive looking but the acoustic are great and to me that's what's most important in a music venue. You need to check it out.

I had never seen Sarah Chang perform in person so this recent visit was a treat. Unlike other violinists I've seen, she had the composure of an Olympic gymnast about to perform a complex floor routine. Sitting in the front row, I kept wanting to give her some hand chalk while she flexed her hands and arms as she readied to play one of my favorites: Brahms' Concerto in D major for Violin and Orchestra. This a very challenging piece and to say that there was quite the athleticism in her approach is an understatement. JoAnn Falletta's orchestra had already demonstrated its prowess in this legendary and acoustically superior hall so they provided muscle behind Ms. Chang's virtuosity. There was the unexpected during her performance, too. Sitting only about 15 feet from her, I watched as she carefully and subtly had to battle a strand of her long hair that hung in the air as she tried to navigate around it with her bow. I've seen musicians and actors deal with all sorts of surprises over the years but have never seen this. (At this point, I could have used some hand chalk because I was anxious for her.) This lone long hair could have disrupted everything but, over what seemed like forever, she carefully and repeatedly blew it away -- like only the stage professional can -- before successfully engaging in one of the most complex sections of the Brahms piece. I won't forget this performance in one of the most well-known venues to hear music anywhere.

This is a very nice, old building in Buffalo. I don't have much to say about it though, because to me, it's just another building. It has cracks all over the place, MANY of the lights are out & no one is replacing them . The sound is good inside & the shows can be very nice. I'm just not into all that kind of music. This time, I went there for my son's college graduation. I had to sit in the balcony for the first time. I did not like it up there at all. It was horrible. The restrooms however, are beautiful. A nice little waiting/powder room is there with seating & mirrors. Inside the stalls however, were not as nice. The toilets were full of random stuff & it wasn't very pleasant.

Over the years I've had the privilege of visiting Kleinhans many times to attend all manner of events. From Season, to Classical, to Pop and Contemporary, whatever type of performance you're lucky enough to attend here will be a complete treat for your ears! The acoustics in the Hall are nothing short of phenomenal, and the building is even wheel-chair accessible :-) The only downside of this place is parking; it's horrible. Despite that drawback, when you can come here for a performance - you will NOT be sorry!

This place is a premiere music hall. The acoustics are fantastic. I went recently to the holiday pops concert and the hall was decorated beautifully. There were different booths set up on the main floor with information, and items for sale. There are also two bars. A well drink is $5 and goes up from there, and wine is $8. The seats are very comfortable and you aren't sitting on top of fellow patrons, which is nice. The coat check is free. There is a restaurant downstairs. The restrooms are great and clean.

BPO Gala 2022 started the evening outdoors at the reflecting pool for cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and string quartet that led us inside for a formal dinner and onto an unforgettable performance by Renee Fleming and after party with desserts and entertainment in the Mary Seton room. What a great finale to a heck of a season.

Kleinhan's is a Great place to hold events to showcase such Beautiful Classical Music (even though I've never seen it there). I've only been here twice, once for hearing a Lecture from the Queen of Italian Cuisine Lidia Bastianich and the other (which I'm proud to say) was an Event Honoring the One and Only Anthony Bourdain (A Cook's Tour). Where the some of the Chefs of Buffalo got together and Orchestrated and created Dishes with Symphonies of Flavor. Dishes and drinks that were inspired by his Worldly Travels, I came with my Dad and my Uncle Rick, we went our Separate ways in there but would meet up time to time, this is how it went Down. The Black Sheep - Spicy Lamb Laap (mixed with Thai Spices) served over rice, on the Sign said: Because we think he would like it. Lamb was Tender, which hints of Chili Powder, Coriander and Tumeric and the Rice was soft but not mushy in the least. Barrel & Brine - Budae-Jjigae (Korean Army based Stew) consisting of a Plethora of Pork based things like Hot Dogs, Pork Belly and Spam along with Kimchi & Ramen in a Hearty Tomato Broth (also some Tums on the Side to ease the Stomach Pain). The Grange Community Kitchen - Chicken Liver Mousse on a Brown Butter Financier topped with Luxardo Cherry. a Soft Bite that was complex and that Cherry on top played well with the Richness of the Mousse. Betty's - Chickpea Curry, my only Vegetarian dish of the Evening, a lot of Spice going on but not too much to be a Burden with some Naan Bread on the side to scoop it up. Heritage Cured Meats - 24 Month aged Prosciutto & Cantaloupe, that matchmaking interplay of Sweet & Salty bound together on curled Pick. Vertical Mauve - (BLT Tartinettes) Slow Roasted tomato Crouton, Bacon Fat Mayonnaise, Julienned Lettuce and Candied Bacon. This Canape mimics the beloved oldy but goody Classic Sandwich with Crispy Bacon, Firm Lettuce, Rich Mayo on lightly toasted Bread. Terrace at Delaware Park - Serrano & Grapefruit Margarita, to take a small break from some bites and partake in a Drink that had Sour notes and Peppery Heat that was restrained that was chilled and refreshing. Public Espresso & Coffee - Strawberry Crullers, Fresh out of the Fryer, these light Pastry that has an egg like Taste at the end, coated with a Vibrant Pink coating of Fresh Strawberries (not my Favorite Fruit) but it was Sweet enough for me to say (that's interesting), one is enough for me as I didn't make wanna go Crull-ing back for more. Black Iron Bystro - Polenta Frites with Malt Vinegar and Basil Aioli, planks of Cornmeal fried until Golden Crisp that was well seasoned with a light Malt Flavor and 3 puddles of Aioli that has that Licorice flavor without it coming on too Strong. Casa Azul - (Ceviche Acapulco), Shrimp marinated in a Spicy Tomato Citrus Juice on a Worm Salt seasoned Tostada with an Avocado/Cricket Puree and Cilantro. One of the Best Presented and highly colorful bites of the Night, Bold Acidic Flavors, Shrimp was Chilled & Tender, although it was hard to eat and it fell apart on the first Bite for me. Churn Soft Serve - Walnut Brownie with Sea Salt Ganache, Ancho Chile Buttercream, Melted Coffee Ice Cream, Cinnamon Waffle Crisp, Coffee Caviar and Spice Dust. This was a Dessert with a lot going on, almost like a Mole vibe going on, the "Caviar" was the Element that stood out the most. SEAR - Steak Frites with Bordelaise, for one of the Best Steakhouses in Buffalo to Honor Anthony for his time at Brasseries Les Halles with Juicy Medium-Rare Meat and Crispy Fries to Boot is Respect at its Finest. Also from Public Espresso & Coffee a drink called The Anthony - which consisted of Cascade Hops, Baked Gaba Tea, Grapefruit, Tamarind and Honey with a Lemon Foam. Must've been for when Anthony was in India, since these are likely Indian Ingredients, It was a Sweet Drink. Oliver's - Macau Pork Cutlet Sandwich with Celery Root Remoulade and Chili Garlic Paste, The Pork that was behind a protective wall of Breading was still Moist, the Chili Paste was bursting with a great amount of Heat but I wish they put a little more Remoulade on to help interact with that Heat. Ballyhoo - Mac n Cheese, out of all the Bites it was the Simplest, Shells coated with a Cheese Sauce. Lait Cru Brasserie - Bone Marrow Crostini topped with a Lemon/Caper sauce, It was more of a Topping than a Sauce and the Capers with their Salty Touch took a Pretty Dominant Role in this Bite (my least favorite of the Night). Billy Club - Passionfruit Gin & Tonic, I've had this drink before and its a bit rough on the Palate with that Bitterness of the Tonic but that Tart Passionfruit made the Drink interesting with each sip I took it invited me back in. Shango Bistro - Pork Belly Taco with Pickled Onion, Slaw, Jalapeno and Remoulade, Last Bite and the Pork had that Mild Creole Rub with the Heat from the Peppers and the Shell was Toasted so it wouldn't cool down the Meat. A lot going on to Honor, 1 Person, Long Live Anthony Bourdain !!!

I have been coming to Kleinhans periodically since I was 16. It is such an overlooked blessing to have a music hall like this in Buffalo. Not only is it historic, but they usually put a modern twist on their symphonic concerts. They do renditions of popular songs and artists but also have classical music shows. The holiday pops at Kleinhans is such a fun tradition. I really recommend partaking in future years! The seating is comfortable, there is a bar, candy, and usually some gift stands. One of the other shows I really enjoyed was a Tchaikovsky concert. Try out something different and see a symphony!

There was also a cash bar. The event was a way for several merchants to display their wares, among them Blue Table Chocolates, Tommyrotter Distillery, Rebel Ride and several artisans. The wait staff was great, replenishing the various platters and serving trays of tasty mini-potato pancakes and boneless chicken wing bites throughout the evening.
