So, here's what you need to know: 1) Yes, most of Dr. Zander's staff left when he did. In the case of my hygienist, it was because she was ready to retire anyway. Dr. Zander, as wonderful as he was, did them wrong when he left abruptly, and a couple of his people said that it really soured them. I don't think their leaving says anything at all about the new owner. 2) I stayed on but very nearly didn't because (and this will sound totally lame), they completely redesigned the lobby area, which used to be very tranquil and relaxing with a water fountain and plants and then suddenly completely lost its personality and became very sterile. I still hate the new lobby and still miss that fountain. 3) The dentists and hygienists here are great. Everyone is very friendly, and the quality of their work has been excellent. I'm particularly happy that the office now does implants, which Dr. Zander referred out. I have bad teeth, so I've had a ton of work done, both pre- and post- change of ownership, and it's all been good. Prices seem to be the same. 4) Don't hate on Tina -- she's great. She's funny! Sometimes, you've just gotta read reviews and think, "Yeah, I see the problem. It's you. You're the problem." No joke, I've been in that office at least 10 times since Dr. Zander left. Here's why this is a one-star review: 1) Misleading information and zero accountability In July 2025, I went in for a routine visit with X-rays and a cleaning. The office pushed for a full set of X-rays because my insurance would "cover it." I made it very clear I did not want to pay anything out of pocket and was explicitly told the X-rays would be fully covered. Based on that, I agreed. Months later, in February 2026, I received a bill for $107. When I called, I was told my insurance didn't cover the full amount. That directly contradicts what I was told at the time of service. I was promised a call back from management to resolve it--no one ever called. In March, I received another bill. I called again and was told, once again, that management would follow up. Again--no call, no explanation, no accountability. I eventually paid the $107, but the issue isn't the amount--it's the fact that they said one thing to get consent and then took no responsibility afterward. 2) Payment-first mentality This office is very aggressive about collecting money upfront. For anything beyond a basic cleaning, they expect payment before services are performed. I've been to many dental and medical offices, and this stands out--in a bad way. 3) Questionable treatment experience I had a filling done by someone who was not the dentist. The work ended up having issues, and I had to return to have it redone. One of those is Dr. Hashimoto's office. I've been here a handful of times this new year for jaw issues that he's been working on with me. One of the reasons why I will always suggest Dr. Hashimoto is because of how methodical he is in explaining what he's doing. He walks you through every procedure no matter how big or small. The hygienists here are always lovely, as well as Valerie and Lisa! Lisa is a new face to me at least, but a welcome addition. One example I'll give is a recent one. I have jaw locking that's due from stress/potential clenching at night. I came in for a visit in which Dr. Hashimoto worked my jaws a bit and I ended up having my jaw lock as he was working on my mouth. His concern was so apparent, it was like an automatic switch. He made sure my mouth wasn't opening to wide, he had Alley put a little gauze in my mouth to keep my mouth open without having me attempt to do so myself. I'm one of those patients, no matter how uncomfortable I say I'm okay because I know I can get through it. This jaw locking was probably my first experience with pain in the seat. It was reassuring to feel his genuine concern in that moment. Sometimes you read horror stories about doctors who act in an unprofessional manner and disregard the comfort of their patients. You won't experience that here. Dr. Hashimoto is witty and engaging. His staff becomes a part of your life in a way. You ask about their kids, ask about the holidays, you exchange stories.
