This place continues to be one of my favorite restaurants when I get to visit Calgary. Traveling recently for work and have visited here a few times. The ambiance is excellent. The restaurant is hopefully renovated and decorated with an open style kitchen. The service is top notch, each time the server having a very well organized explanation of its interesting menu. There are lots of interesting cocktails to choose from. My favorite appetizers are the squid, scallops, three ways toast, ravioli. For means I've tried the lamb, steak and the duck breast, all of which are fantastic.

A few days ago we decided we'd have a special dinner at KLEIN | HARRIS restaurant on 8th Ave in Calgary. And it was about as good as it gets! We started with a couple of different salads (I had the Heritage Greens and Linda had the Beet Mosaic) - which were unbelievably delicious (you gotta try this!) and a superb amuse bouche that was delightfully cultured (just cream cheese, lemon garlic, and S&P) on an oh-so-lightly toasted tiny toast. Linda's main was Alberta Lamb Leg, which she said was the best she's ever had (and she has a darn good and discriminating palate), exceptionally tender, and rustic throughout. I went for the Duck Breast, which had an interesting (as in very nice) rosti base and a delightful topping of wilted spinach and honey braised carrots. The jus was superb and full of flavor! Partner and mixologist extraordinaire Christina Mah gave us excellent recommendation on wine, which was a very nice Australian Malbec. It was perfect. Well done, Chef James Waters. The food was exceptional. Ambience was perfect. Service was superb and just right. It's a very classy place, but not stuffy at all. Loved the open kitchen with the viewing mirror too. You will see us often. This is what all good restaurants should be. Parking: 4/5. Service: 5/5. Presentation: 5/5. Ambience: 5/5. Portion Size: 5/5 Flavors: 5/5. Value: 5/5

I came here with my sister. She was the one who suggested this place. She has tried everything on the menu. She had a party from work here one time. She told me that their best appetizer was the cheese ball. Unfortunately, they didn't have it when we were there. Oh well. I ended up getting the Alberta lamb loin and she got the crispy pork sirloin. I really liked my lamb loin. Super tasty. The sides were cooked to perfection. Totally delicious. Even sitting there waiting for our food to come, I could smell the delicious food while they were cooking it. We came on a Monday night and it was super quiet. I am guessing they are busier during lunch time. Prices were very reasonable. Service was good. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. The location was awesome as well. It was very convenient for both of us because it is located in Calgary downtown and near the C-Train. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Klein Harris is an adorable boutique restaurant in Calgary with a chic yet homey vibe. Our waitress was friendly and determined to help me find the perfect red wine by the glass. In fact, she brought me small samples of 3 red wines so I could pick the one I liked best. I wasn't overly hungry so the Baked Boursin Cheese with Homemade Rhubarb Compote was perfect. And DELICIOUS! I seriously considered going back the following night to have it again. It was strangely busy at 5:30 pm on a Wed. and got more crowded as the evening progressed so I really recommend making a reservation.

My wife and I chose this spot for our last meal in Calgary before flying out. It was a good choice. This place is located on the picturesque and famous Stephen Ave. The location cannot be beat. They have some seats outside for the two months of the year it seems to be warm and seating inside. The hostess was very nice and sat us inside since the outdoor seating was full. The decor and atmosphere here is very nice. I loved that instead of mounting a real stag head they put a cardboard version. We began by ordering some drinks. I ordered the tequila based El Diablo which was okay. My wife ordered the Sage and Ginger Fuzz and that was okay too. They packed a punch, but we didn't love the taste of either. Although the drinks weren't our favorites the food was really good. I ordered the KH burger and my wife ordered the mushroom ravioli. My burger was so tasty. I added mushrooms and they were some of the tastiest mushrooms I have had in a while. The meat was super savory as well. I got a side salad with my burger and it was stupendous. Usually when you get a side salad with a meal it is some sad looking thing made of 90% lettuce, but the KH side salad was a real tasty one. My wife devoured her mushroom ravioli. The photos I saw before we came showed us that portions would be on the smaller side and that is okay. The food here is high quality, but you may have to order an appetizer of dessert. I would come back here for the food again. Service was also very good. Our waiter was very nice and talkative. We also appreciated one of the managers checking in on us to explain how the mushrooms are made and the burger meat. Another waitress came by to fill our water glasses. The staff here definitely pays attention to you. This is definitely a place worth checking out.

Oh. My. Word. ... this is one of my favorite restaurants in Calgary and highlyyyy recommend oysters and calling ahead to see if they have them in! . Note, didn't take pics of everything, because I was too busy embracing it in my mouth, but I'll give you a break down or what I ate: 1) DIVER SCALLOPS farmer's bacon, braised peppers, savoy cabbage, apple nosh $20 - delicious, but I wouldn't say this would be a must next time. 4 scallops prepared as described and good, but not going to focus on this one. 2)GRILLED HUMBOLDT SQUID chili ginger potatoes, baby leeks, pickled salad $18 -worth it and delicious. Squid can sometimes be rubbery, but this one was perfect and the chili ginger potatos were divine. would get again! Thankful for that suggestion (pic 1) 3) MUSHROOM RAVIOLI brown butter leeks, blistered tomato, greens, shaved smoked gouda $16 -one of my faves for sure. Highly recommend. Very flavorful and Gorggg. Happy with that choice as well. Would get again 4) BEET MOSAIC boursin cheese, oat crumble, baby greens, maple vinaigrette $16 -delicious and light. Beautiful beets. Would get again though I will say I didn't love the granola, would still get! 5) CANDIED PORK BELLY egg in a nest, maple butter $15 -good value, decent size and sourdough soaked in goodness. Gorg again and would get again 6) K / H BUTTER TART candied walnut, house ice cream $8 -delicious and fresh. I loved the walnuts. Again, would get again DOUGHNUTS salted maple butter, chocolate sauce $8 -fresh made and take about 17 min, so heads up but they're tasty. Similar to dutch olliebollen. The maple butter is delish, but I wasn't a fan of the chocolate. Great sharing dessert though. Would get again. Overall- very much enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food. All was quality and locally sourced, which I always love and taste. The interior is very sleek and clean, but still cozy. The selection was impressive and all was delicious. I will go back again. Pricy, bougey, but tasty. You can either get your own main or share tapa/family style - serving utensils and individual plates still make it friendly for our times too. I've been here a few times and will keep coming back. .

First of all, love the interior and the service. This place is fancy considering the price is extremely reasonable for the service they provide. Unfortunately though, I just didn't really like the food. I got the lamb dish which was too tough, scallop appetizers were okay, and the cheesecake also, just okay.

A large pavlova. With poached apples and fruit. It was delicious and huge portion.

What an incredible spot we lucked into. We were here on business for a few days and relied on Yelp to find a food place. Even though they were full the host managed to find us a superb location. Each dish was beautifully prepared and flavourful. A chef worked on each and every dish and took the time to prepare it beautifully. If in Calgary you must go. Prices were also very reasonable compared to Toronto Standards. Two thumbs up!!

1st - Appetizers 3 Way Toast (onion, mushroom and tomato sauce.) 2nd - squid with potatoes. (Incredible! Not chewy like most squid!)

This is for sure my new favourite restaurant. The staff were incredibly nice! We were greeted four times and it wasn't too much, it was very pleasant! The food was amazing; everyone loved their food! My father told the waiters it was my birthday, and they gave us free doughnuts with dip! They also over heard my brother say his Clamato had too much ice, so the gave us all of our drinks (placebos they were called) for free!!! The kitchen was an open-concept kinda deal, so you could see everything they were cooking. The squid shown in the first photo was delicious and was not chewy like other squid in restaurants. The duck was cooked perfectly and the doughnuts were light and airy. The service was splendid and the food was scrumptious! Definitely recommend!!

We were greeted by a group of bartenders (who all happened to be wearing toques) when we walked in, and I felt both welcomed and slightly out of place (no toque). The cocktails were meticulously crafted--priced at $15-20 a drink, it's on par with bigger cities like Vancouver and Toronto, but they also live up to the standard. Honestly, the highlight of our visit to Missy's was the Missy's This That charcuterie board. Each piece of cured meat was sliced impossibly thin, the olives were meaty and delicious, and the cheeses were carefully selected to complement everything. I loved that it also came with a side of thick cut bread and pickled vegetables. One of the best charcuterie boards I've had at a restaurant for sure. Not cheap but worth the pretty penny on a slightly fancy night out.

I didn't think I would ever like banana in a cocktail, but it was absolute heaven. Smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. One of those drinks you think about ordering again halfway through. For food, I also had the braised short ribs, and they were excellent. Super tender, rich, and full of flavor. Definitely one of those comforting dishes that still feels elevated and well executed. The decor deserves its own mention. The space is warm, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, and there's an actual live tree inside the restaurant, which is such a cool touch.
