We wore KEP for our wedding and unfortunately the experience we had was overall stressful and disappointing. We would not recommend KEP to anyone that has a strict deadline and/or anyone who expects a high level of customer service. After receiving a few recommendations from friends, my now husband and I made an appointment in the NYC store on May 10 looking for white jackets and black pants (for made to measure) for our wedding on the west coast on August 20 (so, at least 3 months in advance). After a LOT of back and forth (finding white vs. cream fabric is a lot more difficult than it sounds) we finally found fabric that we wanted and on May 24 went through the entire process of getting measured and paying a lot of money (thousands of dollars each) for the outfits. Since KEP was a well-known brand, especially in the gay community, we were excited about our decision to splurge a little bit on this, with the expectation that the service would be great and that this would be something we didn't need to stress out about last-minute. We were very wrong. Fast forward a month later, on June 21, we received a call from KEP saying that they actually didn't have enough of the white fabric we chose to make two jackets, and there wasn't enough time to wait until they received more in stock. So they said we should come back in to pick a different fabric. Since we already paid and already got measured and frankly didn't have enough time to go elsewhere, we rushed into the store to pick a different fabric. The new fabric we chose cost more than our original, and given the situation KEP offered it to us at no additional charge. We felt like things were back on track and looked forward to our fitting a few weeks before the wedding to make any last-minute adjustments. More time goes by, and then we hear from KEP saying that they need to push our fitting from a few weeks before the wedding to 10 days before the wedding. We became more nervous, especially because we had planned for KEP to ship the outfits to the west coast so we wouldn't have to travel with them. Then, when that date approached, KEP said we would have to push it to 8 days before the wedding (the Friday before). We became more nervous. When we came to the fitting, we learned that only the jackets were ready, and not the pants. The jackets needed adjustments. We asked when the pants would be ready for us to try on and they said they would let us know ASAP. The entire weekend went by and we did not hear anything from them. We called, messaged, and texted just about everyone we could find who works at the company and heard nothing until Monday morning (5 days before the wedding), when they said that everything is fine and that they are shipping our pants directly to the west coast. This obviously made us extremely nervous because this meant that we wouldn't be able to trying our pants on prior to the wedding. We asked them to ship the pants to the west coast as soon as possible so we could get them tailored there if necessary. Miray (the co-founder of KEP), instead of apologizing for the last-minute scramble and rushing, reminded us how they have been good partners and assured us that the pants would be fine and that we had nothing to worry about. The pants arrived on the west coast 3 days before the wedding and they were, as expected, too big. In the midst of everything else going on, we had to rush a tailoring job (through a tailor we found on our own) and paid $90 to fix the pants. We picked up the pants the morning of the wedding. The thing that bothered us most was not the fact that our outfits arrived behind schedule. It was the extreme lack of service we experienced throughout the entire process. Communicating with the co-founder of the company, as well as the NYC representative, was always terribly painful. There was a lack of responsiveness, a lack of answers, and a lack of urgency. For a high-end store, we found the service to be seriously disappointing. Having to deal with last-minute adjustments before your wedding (among everything else) is one of the most stressful experiences in itself, but the feeling of having to deal with it alone, without the support of the company you just paid thousands of dollars to, is the highest insult. No one from KEP ever apologized for this experience, instead saying that they understand weddings can be stressful. After the wedding, we emailed Miray asking if they could reimburse us for the $90 rush tailoring. She did not respond. I followed up and said that we were planning to write reviews of all of our wedding vendors online. She did not respond. read more

This place is the worst. DO NOT COME HERE for anything. I went there about a month ago to get a pair of jeans altered. Which is a pretty simple task for a place like this. I'm no expert on alterations, but I can't think of anything more basic that a place like this can do. Needless to say, it took forever and they screwed up my jeans. They lied to me numerous times about when the jeans would be ready. And when the jeans finally came back, they were altered wrong. It doesn't take over two weeks shorten jeans! They were very rude to me as well. If a place does not know how to shorten jeans and treats it's customers poorly, why would you want to spend thousands of dollars on custom made clothing here? There are plenty of other places where you can buy custom made clothing with quality alterations and good customer service. Go there and avoid Klein Epstein & Parker. read more

Just got my third shirt from ManuelRacim so it's about time I gave them a review. I used to buy high end off-the-rack shirts from Saks, brands like Canali and Armani. Never again! My ManuelRacim custom shirts are perfectly fitted, made in France, and best of all...they cost only $125. My Armani shirts were at least $250 each. They offer higher priced fabrics at ManuelRacim but even their cheapest fabrics felt as good as (or better than) my other shirts. The sales girls are very knowledgeable about the fabrics and I never felt pressured to buy. The whole shop experience is luxurious but it doesn't feel stuffy and pretentious like some other boutiques. At the end of the day this is the best bang for the buck in my closet!" read more

I used to travel to Hong Kong for business and would get shirts custom-made at Ascot Chang. Now that I've found Manuel Racim, I'm only getting my shirts made here. The quality, fit, selection, workmanship, and customer service are beyond expectations. As others have attested, this place is a fantastic new entry in the world of custom shirts. However, I'm writing this review because recently, their commitment to customer service surpassed my wildest expectations. About three weeks before my wedding, I ordered several shirts from Manuel Racim to wear all weekend. Due to delays clearing Customs, it was unclear whether the shirts were going to arrive in time. While I was freaking out, Manuel purchased some high-end shirts and hired a custom tailor to rework the shirts to match my exact measurements...all in one day! Courteous, responsible, and apologetic, he had the shirts couriered to me overnight. In the end, my original shirts cleared Customs and I was able to wear them for my wedding (because again, Manuel had them couriered to me.) In a day and age when customer service is waning, I'm glad that there are companies like Manuel Racim that understand how much customers value attentive service. Because of that (and the quality of the shirts,) I'll be a customer for life. read more

A bespoke addict friend suggested this place when it came time to find a gift for my boyfriend's birthday. I've never been able to buy shirts for him that fit well (or he liked) so I figured custom would be the way to go this year. Shirts range from about $125-$300, which I found quite reasonable for made-to-measure. We made an appointment and went in together to shop in the very cute and cozy store in Tribeca. Sales girl was very friendly, and didn't rush us while we were going back and forth between fabrics, and all the style options. Shirts are designed on a touch-screen, so of course my boyfriend enjoyed the dude-friendly tech elements. Fit was great. Pricing reasonable and customer service worth every penny. This is a long overdue review, considering the great experience I had at ManuelRacim! Months ago I had been invited to a pop-up store event and honestly wasn't sure what to expect. I had heard some good things from some friends but since my work attire is fairly casual (button downs, polos, jeans), didn't really give it a second thought. My girlfriend then convinced me that a man needs to have some nicely fitted and good quality shirts - if not for special occasions then at least so I can feel put together once in a while. Trust me - this was a big deal for me. I was greeted with friendly, knowledgeable, and no-pressure employees. They gave me a lot of time to walk through the space and take it all in. What I got out of this was that they wanted me to feel comfortable and explore, and only approach them when I was ready - really nice to have this kind of treatment at a classy establishment without feeling out of place. Not going to lie - this is the only time in my life I had been measured for anything except for my high school prom tux fitting, and buying a suit ages ago. As I was picking out various collar, sleeve, and pattern options, I did feel a bit overwhelmed by the numerous customizable elements. The woman who helped me was very knowledgeable of classic vs modern looks, fabrics that felt comfortable and were durable, and helped guide me towards something that looked like my style. I still loved the ability to fully customize every aspect of the shirt. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical about measurements at first, and was afraid the final product would be too snug. However, when two weeks later I got my shirt I realized it was a perfect fit. I was amazed by how much a well tailored shirt made me look more put together - but most importantly it was comfortable and made me feel at ease. The thing felt like a second skin. You can say that my experience with custom made shirts could be duplicated elsewhere, but I would say that ManuelRacim gave me a unique service experience, an affordable but well made product, and most importantly the ease of being able to order again at any time I want without even leaving my computer by storing my measurements. read more

Usually get bespoke at Ascot Chang but this shop is closer to my office so I thought I'd give them a try. To start, there's no minimum order and the turnaround (2 to 3 weeks) is quicker than other places I've tried. Not sure how they manage that with the shirts being made in France. I've never seen anything like the touchscreen they use to design your shirt in 3D either. It was fun to see the shirt designed in real-time but I already knew what I wanted, so wasn't of much use to me personally. The shirt itself fits spot on! I'm pretty picky and the first try didn't need any changes whatsoever. I chose a soft plaid from one of their Italian fabric books and it doesn't disappoint. For the quality the price is significantly lower than other high-end custom places, so I think I found my new shirtmaker. read more

The gifted staff from MR remain and now under KEP theyr'e able to curate an exquisitely fitted ,hyperpersonal wardrobe for work and play. Great suits, sport coats, shirts, and now coats and leisurare (polos, hoodies and more!). I'm consistently impressed by the team's ability to understand a customers needs and adjust accordingly. Craftsmanship is top notch as is service. Great style and adaptability. KEP's ability to incorporate personal styles ranging from traditional and conservative to modern and audacious simplyl impresses. And what an amazing selection of fabrics from some of the best European mills. For slightly more than off the rack, one can enjoy a finely curated sartorial MTM experience. It's very hard to go back to ready to wear. I'd recommend KEP wholeheartedly. read more

About 5 years ago when I had a little extra cash and started understanding the importance of investing in a solid work wardrobe, I looked into getting custom shirts. I did a small amount of research and settled on a place close to my office near Grand Central. I was less than impressed. About 18 shirts, 4 slacks, and 2 suits later, I felt incredibly ripped off and underwhelmed. The majority of these shirts ripped or got stretched as they were a cheap blended fabric. A couple of months ago when I need to reload, it was time for a change and I was fortunate enough to stumble upon ManuelRacim. Immediately, I knew I was in the right place. Manuel, the founder was incredibly helpful. He is French and seemed to have a great sense of international style. Given I was burned in the past, I wanted to just start with 3 shirts and go from there. There were no high pressure sales tactics and he laid out options across fabric grades, and every little detail when it came to the shirt. My expectations were managed in terms of order time. When I came back to try on the first shirt to ensure the proper measurements for the full batch, Julie who is one of the other employees was incredibly friendly and helpful. She was patient and also detail-oriented. At the end of the day, I have 3 fantastic new shirts that I look forward to wearing. I will be coming back for more work shirts and I might even buy a few shirts to wear casually when going out in the city. I highly recommend this place regardless of where you live in the city. Take a cab or a subway because a place with good quality shirts that are reasonable and great customer service is hard to come by! read more

Having previously worn suits off the rack, I knew getting a custom suit would be an upgrade but didn't quite know what more to expect. My experience at Klein Epstein & Parker was everything I could've hoped for, and my first custom suit came out even better than I'd imagined when picking out the design. It is an absolutely perfect fit, and I've received many compliments in my first few weeks wearing it - both on the suit itself and the way I look in it (I've been told the fit makes me look much thinner). I now understand what it means to wear a custom suit, and will surely be returning to Klein Epstein & Parker for future purchases. read more

Let me tell you, i do not like slim fit based on how i've been dressing myself in the past. That said, my shirt from Manuel Racim is beautifully constructed. Some places think slim means TIGHT, but I don't want to walk around looking like I'm trapped in a sausage casing. The guys here nailed it. Not billowing out everywhere but still enough room to breathe and move. The shirt was a little longer than I wanted, it wasn't a big deal and I could have walked out with it but they made the adjustment quickly and at no charge to me. I will say the quality of the shirt is also much higher than the mass produced stuff that comes out of asia. Everything is done in France, and for $125 it's a steal. Definitely worth stopping here if you want the quality of a traditional tailor but your tastes are a little more modern. read more

I started off as a shirt customer when this was just Racim. I live nearby and came in off the street. The experience then was outstanding, Francois and his team delivered great shirts for a value -- not cheap but certainly not outrageous for NYC/Tribeca standards. When they upgraded to suits and clothing I was intrigued because there are so many custom places right now all over town. I needed some trousers so I happily engaged and was again thrilled with the quality, fit, responsiveness, professionalism and value. I then went back soon after for 3 more pair for a total of 5. I had a great experience here. Manuel was very helpful and patient as i chose fabrics, styles and he also took really good, detailed measurements. The shirts arrived as promised and he made sure i did a quick fitting just in case any adjustments needed to be made, of which there were none! It feels great to have custom made shirts especially when you might have a body type that doesn't conform with most shirts 'off the rack' at clothing stores. On a recent trip to NYC I went into the store with my significant other to get him a properly fitted shirt for an upcoming event and we were both absolutely amazed with the results! A superb, custom fitted shirt with the finest French fabric at half the price of some of his designer shirts (John Varvatos to name one). I called the store and ordered 6 more as a surprise!! So easy, they had his measurements, and I picked the fabrics from a variety of fabulous fabrics and viola....they are delivered to the house in Chicago! I have gotten made to measure and bespoke shirts from a few other places in the past, but ManuelRacim is now the only place I will get my shirts from. The shirts are made in France and arrive in about two weeks which is an incredible combination quality and convenience. The staff is extremely nice, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. The measurements they took were spot on and my first shirt came back perfect! Best fitting shirt I have ever had made. Reorders are incredibly simple via their website. Since getting the first shirt, I have ordered 11 more and will be a client of theirs for life. read more

ManuelRacim shirts cost less than buying a high-quality but badly-fitting shirt and having a tailor make it right, and once you get measured, ordering more shirts is a snap. Great shirts! In 2014 I got my first MR custom shirt while visiting Tribeca (actually went there to go to the Ludlow Shop next door...and didnt buy anything there!). Julie graciously welcomed me into the shop and introduced me to the concept, which, at that time was a concept for which I was unfamiliar...a custom shirt? Why, yes! Julie explained all the measurements and approach to sizing the perfect fitting shirt and explained all the options I had in designing my first shirt. While I was there I even got to chat with the Founder, Manuel. A few weeks later I got my first shirt and it fit perfectly. Whenever I wear it I feel super confident knowing it fits so well and looks so sharp. I get compliments often. 2 years later, the shirt still fits, no issues whatsoever and I continue to wear it for those special occasions. I also ordered my second MR shirt 2 years later and was able to email Julie to let her know to make a few micro adjustments to my chest area due to working out for 2 years my chest was a bit larger. No problem, she adjusted on my profile and I received my shirt in just a couple weeks. I am a loyal customer and will continue to probably buy a shirt a year from MR, if not more. read more
