We've only ordered two times from Teddies. I had the Gyro( beef) He had the Chicken Souvlaki. It was extremely good! I ordered and went to pick it up. They sure give you a lot of delicious food! I couldn't finish it all. But, we both really liked it! There were a lot of things in the bag. We appreciated that. You never know when you will need Zazichi sauce. Ordered breakfast from this place and it was made fresh to order! I got the Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on a Portuguese roll. Plenty of Taylor ham on the sandwich, which was a plus! A lot of the bagel places around here only put one piece of ham on their breakfast sandwiches. Was not a fan of the Portuguese roll, would of liked it more if it was toasted! Also ordered a side of home fries which were delicious & packed full of flavor! This place is very affordable (only $6 for my breakfast! I absolutely love Teddy's Place. My favorite is the grilled chicken sandwich. It's marinated so well and is very tender and juicy. Fries are awesome and I love their cheesecake too!! I live in NYC and there are Falafel trucks everywhere. I have my regular Falafel spot I enjoy, but none compared to this one! This place has the best Falafel I've ever had. I got to experience it for myself the first time and then my wife. She's also obsessed with those BLT on pita. We were left for words. The business is nice and cozy and the owner is so cool and welcoming! This has officially become my number one Falafel spot going forward and will recommend it to everyone. Teddy's has the BEST old school breakfast in Bayonne, period! My personal favorite is an omelet made with egg whites, spinach, feta, tomato, onion and peppers. This omelet is just over the top in terms of flavor and fluffy texture. It is just perfectly made, cooked expertly on the grill and it along with the absolute best home fries you'll ever find in Bayonne make this THE place to go for breakfast. Most of the so called "diners" in Bayonne serve small, flavorless omelets and "so called" home fries that are nothing more then flavorless shredded potatoes cooked in industrial vegetable oil. The home fries at Teddy's are so perfectly made with flavorful , sweet caramelized onions, peppers and seasoning that is so nice that they could win awards! They are probably the best home fries I have tasted since the Kiev on 2nd Ave closed. They open at 7:00 AM daily which is great, you order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. I've also had it delivered to my house and that worked out perfectly. This place is not fancy or gourmet and the food is served on pressed paper plates but it is a classic Greek hole-in-the-wall that is so difficult to find these days especially in Hudson County. It's a life saver that they exist in Bayonne. I can't rave about this omelet enough. It's THAT good. The prices are super-reasonable too and the classic diner coffee is great as well! read more

I had an early morning appointment, that I arrived too early for. I found this little gem admist a couple if fast food places and decided to give try Teddy's. Afterall, the prices are comparable and Id get real food. I was pleasantly surprised!! I enjoyed an All American breakfast platter: bacon, scrambled eggs, toast, home fries and juice. Yum! Yum! I highly recommend Teddy's Place. (1/2017 less than $10) Only downside: Chinet style plates vs dishes. I write this review with sadness. I used to love coming to Teddy's with my sister in law. I believe the last time I went was a little over five years ago. Now this review could be a smorgasbord of things... The cook could definitely be different! Anyway, yesterday was actually the first time I had a seat in here to eat. In previous years, we would order and take it out. We sat at a table by the window and literally killed two flies with their little triangle ad advertising their Greek desserts. Then, we killed some sort of insect on the table. The chicken souvlaki I ordered was okay, nothing to write home about. Same with the bf's fat sandwich. We also ordered Greek fries, which were soggy from the lemon dressing, but also probably not fried to a crisp, I don't know. While we just weren't feeling this experience, I have to note that the ladies at the counter were so nice and kind to us. I met this place is better when it comes to breakfast and breakfast sandwiches. Other reviews seem to say so. We probably won't be back here as there are other great sandwich spots and we came here on a whim while running errands in this part of town. read more

At the behest of my coworkers I ordered a burger from Teddy's several years ago and when I bite into it only one word came to mind... "meh". For years they would go on and on about how good Teddy's was and I would laugh at them. Last week they suggested Teddy's yet again and I once again shared my nothing to write home about burger story. They persuaded me to order a Gyro, which I did. The Gyro arrived at 1:45 pm EST. That time will forever be etched into my mind as the moment life began for me. Nothing before that Gyro even matters anymore and I'm struggling to find a purpose in life that doesnt involve that delicious gyro by my side. If Jesus was into Gyro's and went to gyro cooking school for 4 years and got a masters degree in Gyro making he still couldnt make a better gyro. I was told this place was a must for "Greek food". What I got was a sorry excuse for a gyro platter. I was served hard dried out low quality gyro meat that was barely edible. The salad the meat was on was nothing special either. The feta cheese was way below anything I would expect being a fellow Greek. I honestly knew it wasn't going to be a good meal just by the appearance of how the food was being served. The place obviously depicts a business owner that has given up and lost all drive for making good quality food. Before I forget. The food here is pretty good. Big fan of the grill chicken gyro. My little girl likes their nuggets over all others (Wendy's /McDonald) and my boys love their burgers. Their prices aren't too bad. The owner (lady) is very nice and friendly, but they have a young lady and a young man that works at the counter that need to work on their customer service skills, which SUCKS! I ordered a gyro platter, which comes with salad, a pita, your choice of rice or fries, and gyro meat for about $10. First off, it took a while for me to get my order. Which I guess is a good thing since it means everything is hot off the press. Definitely not a place to go to, though, if you're in a hurry. The salad was amazing and flavorful and perhaps my favorite part of the whole meal. The saltiness of the cheese and olives complimented the juicy lettuce and tomatoes well. The gyro meat itself was good although just a tad bit too salty. The tzatziki sauce was just right and very good. The rice was my least favorite part of the meal as it was a bit too moist and oily for my tastes. The food is good although at $10 it may be a bit overpriced. read more
