We were looking for something different and found this place super close to my husband's work…read more Noticed right off that they have a drive through so made a mental note for future lunch dates. My husband had meat plus 2....meatloaf, mash potatoes and side salad. I had meat plus 1.....catfish and side salad. Both meats were very tasty. My tarter sauce was homemade and I loved it! The girl taking our order was very friendly and our order came out quick. You order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. I noticed to elderly men come in, place their order and take a seat. I thought it was cool that their food was brought to them. The food comes out on trays. My husband said it reminded him of the cafeteria in public school. We will def be back. I want to try other side options and oh I must get the banana pudding :)

Certainly Nashville is a city replete with meat-and-three joints, some forgettable, some good, and some great. MacHenry is going to become one of the more competitive such establishments in the area with high quality, down-home cookin' from scratch. I've tried several meat options there including a roast pork loin with marvelous seasoning, juicy and tender in a light gravy. The catfish is a huge filet with beautiful crispy batter, although I hoped the actual fish had been a bit flakier. The two side dishes I've sampled were amazing. The fried Brussels sprouts with seasoning are perhaps the best in the city of Nashville, and I don't even like Brussels sprouts! They just left everyone at the table stunned! The mac and cheese is incredible, a far cry from the fake cheese sauce poured over shells that many restaurants attempt to get away with. This is real, melted, slightly crispy cheddar cheese over quality pasta were talking about! Everything here is homemade and the freshness shows. And the honey butter rolls are simply impeccable. Customer service here is fantastic as the owners make you feel very welcome and taken care of. I highly recommend a stop at MacHenry's Meat & Three!

I had to come back and update my review because this place continues to impress me. If you haven't…read morebeen to Light Hill Meats yet, you're seriously missing out. The quality of everything they sell is top-notch, and it's become one of my favorite local spots for fresh meat. But this visit, I have to talk about the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Wow. It was one of those desserts that makes you stop talking after the first bite. The cobbler was warm, packed with sweet blueberries, and had the perfect buttery, crumbly topping. Paired with the cold, creamy vanilla ice cream melting into it, it was absolutely incredible. I honestly wasn't expecting to find one of my favorite desserts at a butcher shop, but here we are! The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions or make recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their products and the experience they provide. It's rare that I update a review, but this place earned it. Between the outstanding meats, excellent customer service, and now one of the best blueberry cobblers I've had, Light Hill Meats keeps giving me reasons to come back. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor--grab some meat for dinner and don't leave without trying the blueberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream. You can thank me later!

2.5 My initial…read moreexperience at BBB was okay. Fine, even. But the after effect (if you will) left a sour taste in my mouth. To wit... I had some unexpected free time on a Monday in the middle of summer so I decided to take a trip to The Nations and see what was going on. I'd heard of BBB but I am so rarely out west that I chalked such tales up to 'that's nice; probably won't go.' I parked down the street and made my way to the building. As advertised, it's a butchery so don't expect much in the way of ambiance but you're not here for sconces and comfy seats. You're here for delicious meat. Lunch hours are brief and the regulars know the hustle so you should come prepared to know what you want and hop to it. I kept it simple: cheeseburger (no mayo), beef fat potatoes (again, no mayo) and a beer. The amount? $30. I bristled but chalked it up to the game that is new Nashville. Within an appropriate amount of time my order was ready. I donned my sunglasses and hit the patio to dig in. As I said above, the food was fine. The cheeseburger was pretty simple (so as to showcase the meat): patties, American cheese, mustard, and pickles). The sandwich looked nice (not especially large) and it tasted... fine. Not being a big red meat eater I fear the nuance of what I was tasting was a bit lost on me. Now, I have had meat that made me sit up and notice. This was not that... but I may not be the best judge. The potatoes were... fine. Fried in beef fat (before it was trendy), the execution is simple: kosher salt. Fine. I didn't think it was $30 fine but the days of Rotier's are long gone. I bussed my mess and drove home. It wasn't long before my lunch sat like a log in my belly. To be expected what with the combo of allergens I just ingested. My discomfort was of my own doing but I did wag my finger at myself for doing it to myself for the price point.* Fine. What wasn't fine was having my card overcharged. That sucked. *Yes, yes. Quality. Ingredients. Price of doing business. I know these things.

I found myself over at Bellevue for dinner, 2 hours before my hockey game. I wanted quality food…read morebut not super carb heavy but also not something that could potentially wreck my stomach. After all, can you imagine having digestive problems while playing hockey? I love barbecue so I thought I'd try this place. I walked in and it wasn't at all busy at 5:32. However when I finished my order, the line was out the door. I asked the cashier what was good and the manager (maybe owner) walked over and I asked him. I wanted ribs or brisket, but needed a 2nd opinion. He said he would choose brisket because theirs is USDA Prime and he would put it against any other barbecue restaurant in Tennessee. Those are some bold words. So I ordered the brisket platter (fatty portion) with green beans and cinnamon baked apples. What I received was 3 good sized portions (1/2 pound) of fatty brisket. The meat was tender, melt in your mouth without an overbearing amount of fat clumped together. The bark was salty and very peppery. It was actually good enough to eat without a sauce. Speaking of, there was only one sauce on the table, so I used that. It was a sweet sauce, definitely honey-based but not overly sweet like other honey-based sauces I've had in the past. The thing is I love everything honey-related, so I would definitely buy this to take home. It was so good, I was scavenging for brisket fibers on my plate. So I praised the brisket but I think the shocker was the green beans. These were hands down, the best green beans I've ever had...ever. Salty, tender, peppery, with chunks of meat and fat, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Who would have thought that a side could be that good? Last but not least, the Cinnamon Baked Apples. I love baked/fried apples. Something about the tart and sweetness brings me back every time. The apples were soft, but not mushy. I would have liked them to be a little more tender and more slices of apples. I think there was more sauce than apples but nevertheless, they were great. Overall I'm glad I visited Honeyfire for the first time. I'm here often (near Bellevue) so I'll definitely be coming back again and again.
