Oh, and MCD's bid included building a back porch for that price! They completed everything in a week because they swarmed us with workers who worked on both projects concurrently. And both projects are finished to a high quality - the porch looks stout enough to land a helicopter on! Anthony, Meagan, and Dan were a pleasure to work with. We had a supplier problem that could have delayed the shower project for a month. Instead, they found a work-around and the start time was only delayed a week. Two thumbs up for MCD because that's all the thumbs I got!

If you want a builder who prioritizes integrity and craftsmanship, I highly recommend MCD. Thank you, Anthony!

Also his subcontractors who did the glass and walls were outstanding. Both jobs were tricky and they each did their jobs perfectly. I recommend Steve Labourdette highly!

Now that the Holidays are behind us, I can finally write this review. Long story short, we had a…read morepipe break under our main bathroom which also involved sewage. Following the remediation work authorized by the insurance company, we decided that this unfortunate event gave us the opportunity to completely remodel our all original 1961 bathroom. I began looking for contractors and reading the reviews on Yelp. I selected three, two from Yelp and one which was a referral. Uriah, owner of Hawkins Remodeling & Repair, responded quickly to my request and set up a date and time that worked wonderfully with our schedule. He arrived as scheduled and we toured my complete wreck of a bathroom. He took measurements, pictures and we talked all while he took notes of everything including what our vision was. He asked questions and offered suggestions including installing a new bathroom door. Uriah sent back a proposal just a couple days later and while I was still waiting for the last contractor. In the end, we just liked everything Uriah and his company had to offer and selected them for the remodel. We agreed on a start date the Monday following Thanksgiving. Uriah asked if he could come over the on the weekend prior to drop of the dump trailer as the bathroom was going to be gutted with a lot of debris, so this made perfect sense. On Monday, Uriah and his team members, Carlos and Miguel, showed up promptly and right away began working by masking all the carpeted area with plastic sheeting where they would be travelling on. They also set up their 'shop' in our backyard for the duration of the project. Every day I came home to an extensive transformation. We had a lot going on in this little old bathroom including a faux divider wall removed, replacing the window with an obscure double pane window, which I asked for at the last minute. They were also moving electrical outlets and extending the plumbing height to accommodate our new fixtures but more so for all the tall bodies living in our house. They removed our existing cast iron bathtub, preserving it as we were having it refinished, so they removed it entirely so they could reinforce the main beams and redo the subfloor. Do you know how heavy those tubs are? Also, did I mention that this was a 1961 original AND was built on adobe? This means nothing in our home is level! Carlos and Miguel handled every challenge that was thrown their way. Uriah checked in with me on a regular basis and discussed any potential problems or issues that his team discovered and offered suggestions or solutions. It was very refreshing to know they just wanted it done right and for us to be completely satisfied. Near the end, we had the tub resurfaced and no one was allowed in the bathroom for two days following as it needed to cure. I didn't want to lose them for a that time, so I asked Uriah if they could replace our back patio slider, which too was old in need of replacing. He quickly gave me a bid, I accepted, and the team installed a beautiful new patio slider. It should be noted that it was pouring rain too! They came to finish up on the final pieces and what an amazing Christmas gift it was! I can't recommend Hawkins Remodeling & Repair enough. They truly transformed a "beast" into a "beauty". Thank you, Uriah, Carlos, and Miguel (The Hawkins crew)! We look forward to working on another project with you in the future!

They are a small licensed crew and Lou and Alex are two of the kindest, most professional, creative guys that are not only wonderful at their craft- but they are solution oriented, fairly priced and well connected in the community with other professionals in the field. We recently purchased a home in Petaluma that needed some major TLC and Rantissi Construction made our visions come to life within budget and on the timeline we had created together. We weren't living locally at the time, but we were still fully part of the process via excellent communication through text and email and they shared many progress photos along the way! Once we arrived to town, the guys still had a bit of work to do and it was so easy and comfortable being in the house with them with our three very young children in tow and everything! I know finding a great crew to work with that meets your needs, can be an overwhelming process and so insanely expensive and our experience was the opposite! My husband and I cannot recommend Rantissi Construction enough. Below are a couple of before and after pictures. Lou Rantissi: 707-396-7472

When I met with Lou he came and accessed what work needed to be done, he would be installing doors on my laundry room and converting it in to a pantry aswell as installing a backsplash for countertops that had been installed. In addition to that I requested a custom closet, a repair on a pocket door in bathroom and replacement of weather stripping on bottom of front door. He said no problem to all of it, came back with an estimate within 2 days and was ready to get started the following week. He always stayed in good communication and cleaned up well after every job. Lou and his partner were non intrusive and always kind in their interactions. I would recommend them for a variety of jobs for they seem to be quite knowledgeable in many areas. During this renovation I have dealt with many contractors and I would gladly say I would do business with them again

Brian presented himself, when asked by my Agent, as someone experienced in plumbing work. He replaced the plumbing connections on top of the water heater; however, the unit continued to leak afterward. He was on-site for over eight hours that day. More than four of those hours were spent at Home Depot, and the remaining time was used working on the water heater plumbing. I later hired a licensed plumber from a professional plumbing company, who advised that the job should have taken approximately two hours, that incorrect parts had been used, and that the work had been performed improperly and unprofessionally. During one of his Home Depot trips, he was sent to purchase gutters for the house but instead returned with a large box of miscellaneous items (at least 20 insignificant items) that had not been approved or discussed. These items totaled over $400!!! There is no justification for treating someone else's money that way, with no regard for their approval or expectations. To make it better, he stated that he had used a friend's military discount card as if that was a good thing. The gutters were never purchased and when I returned the items to Home Depot, I only received a reduced refund, resulting in an additional financial loss. I asked him if the discount was charged back to his card and he said "no"??? I also observed him spend approximately four hours making a minor repair and painting the front door, which further raised concerns about the efficiency and quality of the work being performed. Overall, a significant amount of time was wasted, the quality of work was below standard, and I incurred unnecessary big expense as a result. The experience was extremely disappointing and resulted in both financial loss and delays in preparing the home for sale. He also left several tools at my home and said he would return after Memorial Day to collect them? Seriously? As a single woman in my 60s, I found this situation inappropriate and unsettling for numerous reasons.
