I read many reviews on Yelp, and after evaluating many contractors, I decided to use Yelp's project tool to contact Clark Innovative. When you do this, you get responses from many other companies too. Many reached out before Chris from Clark did. I ended up making an appointment with one of them to have them take a look at it. This person began has contract biz recently... and he did not seem confident. The way he was looking at it, he was reacting in a way that seemed like it's a bit of a pain in the you-know-what job and said it was going to cost a lot. He was a nice guy, but he did not instill confidence in me that he knew what he was doing. (He never even sent me a bid) After that, I wondered if I should reach out to these other companies that responded, but my intuition was telling me to wait a bit longer. Clark did eventually respond with apologies, and made an appointment to come look. They looked at it and just the way he was acting, I could tell this person knew what they were doing, and they came up with a solution to just replace the rotted portion, saving us half the cost! (So yeah, I believe the innovative part of their name!) It was all incredibly reasonable. Dates were pushed back etc, because of rain and other things, but I honestly didn't mind it. Chris tried to be a good communicator, and even when he wasn't, I could contact him and he'd respond. He was just busy. Sometimes, you can just tell with people who is being genuine. Who wants to simply do a good job for you, without gouging you or ripping you off. We need more of these people in the world right now. I'm glad I listened to my intuition, and waited for the right company to do the job. And I will definitely use them again for future work. It's really nice to have a good contractor in our back pocket.

The crew arrived on time each and every day. Travis got right in there and worked with his men. At no point was anyone standing around wasting time. No grumbling or complaining; these guys got right to work and kept going until quitting time. At the end of each day, they made sure the work site was picked up and in general order, ready for the next day's work. Nails everywhere? No! They ran a large magnet across the property - each day - to make sure the area was safe. Warren Construction & Roofing did an excellent job replacing our roof. The estimator (Steven…read moreClark) was very thorough and spent 15 minutes inspecting our roof to determine whether or not we actually needed a new roof (or whether it has some years of life, with some minor repairs). He told me exactly why it needed replacing (and could point to the bowing that indicated deterioration of the underlayment, which he could feel sagging as he walked on it). None of the other roofing contractors even answered my first question (do we need a new roof?); they just gave me an estimate for replacing it. When I asked Steve about the possibility of installing solar panels (at some point in the future), he recommended that they put in a special underlayment in the area where solar would be installed. That avoids the solar installation from compromising the waterproofing. Later, he sent me pictures of another house they were repairing. The homeowners had solar panels installed, but ended up with water damage. They had to take all the solar panels off, repair the roof, and then they can have the solar panels reinstalled. We're not going to have that problem because Steve says the self-adhering underlayment will fill in the screw threads to prevent water from entering. We signed the contract on 5/10/2023. We emailed him with our final decision re: the color of the shingles on 5/13/2023. He emailed back on Monday (5/15/23) to say he would check the weather and their schedule to see when they might be able to squeeze us in. On 5/16/2023, he emailed to say they were finishing up a job earlier and could be there as early at the next morning if we wanted. The crew showed up early on 5/17/23 and worked hard for 3 days, finishing on roof on Friday afternoon, 5/19/2023. At the end of each day, they sent me an email with pictures and an update regarding the progress. At the end of Day 1, I could see that one of our fascia boards was rotted out at the end. I emailed Steve to check whether they would be able to replace that board (but it was already in progress). First thing the next morning, I saw them carrying a new fascia board around the side of the house. They got that fixed along with replacing the underlayment that was warped.
