I was a bit nervous to make a commitment to permanently alter my face and almost cancelled the night before but I'm glad I didn't. Karly is so sweet and instantly put me at ease. She was informative and encouraged me to ask all the questions I needed to. All the horror stories I read online were for the traditional tattoo method. Karly is highly skilled at the SofTap method. Very different from the traditional tattoo method. SofTap is noiseless, non-invasive, and gives clients the most natural look in permanent cosmetics. I got my eyebrows and lips done. Karly used a lot of numbing products so I virtually felt nothing. I almost fell asleep during the process. Karly is a perfectionist and makes sure you look natural and are happy with your look when you walk out the door. She sent me home with a care sheet and ointment for my brows and numbing ointment for my lips. After care is to keep my brows dry for 4 days then use the ointment and numbing cream for 48 hours to keep my lips moist and help with any after pain. Honestly, the only after pain is minor prickly feeling on my lips and brows. Which is essentially no pain at all. I'm def grateful I made the decision to get my lips and brows done with Karly. Mind blown once again! Went in today for my two year touch up! Karly is still the most amazing woman ever and never fails to amaze me with her talent! Let me just tell you a little of what you can expect. There plenty of parking when you first arrive and it's definitely a very nice building so no stresses there. Karly will either give you the code to get in the elevator, or meet you in the parking lot. If your like me and get lost easily this is super helpful. Once you arrive inside her office, you'll first notice is kept extremely clean, it's decorated super cute and she has very good taste in lamps. Lol. Seriously though, you will feel 100% safe knowing and seeing how extremely clean it is and how she goes to the max on making sure your in a sterile area for your eyebrows to be done. She also has water bottles available, I always find this to be useful and nice. On to the actual procedure. So as I said earlier it's extremely clean, Karly makes sure she opens thing in front of you so you know it's never been used before. She also has everything covered in plastic, gives you a hair net, wears one herself as well as a face mask like they do at nail salons. This is a big deal for me! I feel like a lot of places just don't seam to pay this much attention to detail and it can be stressful to feel like things are not in order all the way when your trusting someone with your body. Or at least that's how I feel. Anyways, she does go over shape with you and will actually listen to what you want, she never makes me feel uncomfortable when I give my opinion. That's another win! After shape is chosen she adds a numbing cream to your brows. I love this stuff! I literally had to ask her if she started already cause I couldn't feel it. Once that cream starts fading away she'll add more too. Thank god! Lol. I'm a huge baby! She sits you up a few times in the apt to make sure your happy with the work done so far and if there's anything you want different. This to me is great! I really like that she makes me feel like I'm in control of how they're gonna turn out and she wants to be 100% sure I leave happy. Obviously she does a amazing job and is so experienced I really don't have much to say, she never does anything I'm not happy with. :) Once the apt is over with she will give you some aftercare things to take home as well as a sheet of paper with the aftercare instructions. They are super easy and as long as you follow them you'll have no problems at all! After all is said and done you book your touch up and your good to go! I brought my husband with me to my appointment and he thought he'd sleep through it, but quickly found Karly to be full of energy and fun! She greeted us at the elevator and showed us to her room. We chatted for a bit and she showed us her equipment. She was very knowledgable and thorough in her explanations of the procedure. I felt really relaxed in the chair as she got to work designing my eyebrows. The appointment lasted a couple of hours but it flew by and I found that she was really easy to get along with. The initial appointment, with Karly, was spent with her asking me questions and showing me her tools and asking what my expectations are. I have been dealing with a chronic illness for 3 years. One of my symptoms was hair loss and I shed a lot of hair on top of my head as well as eyebrows and lashes. With the right vitamins and such the hair on my head recovered, my lashes somewhat- but my eyebrows did not. Add in the signs of aging, drug side effects my poor 'Brooke Shields' brows faded away. My once lush brows just disappeared to crazy wild hairs above my eyes. It affected my self esteem- some may or may not understand this- but it sure did. Different topical lotions and potions didn't work. Drawing my eyebrows on every day was a 20+ minute ordeal- and one itch or bead of sweat could wipe away all my handiwork and leave me with a lopsided face. It was disheartening. I got 3d eye brows, I had balding on the top of my eye brow, from my brother when i was young. Plucked them almost clear off. They grew back, but barely, had to wear make up, to cover the bold spots. So i got my eye brow done today, i still have one more appointment, just to be careful, make sure i heal properly. I love them so far. It feels funny after you get it done. I spent way too much money for what I received. The eyeliner lasted about 4 months at the most and was all gone, I phoned about 4 times to see if she could redo it. And she said she was very busy. Then called to see if I wanted to come in on Labor Day. I think not. She was very nice at first when she was getting paid. But not so much when something needed to be fixed. I come in to her studio feeling very anxious and scared... not of the final result of my eyebrows and lash enhancement, but of the pain that could possible come with the price to achieve a "wake up and still look good" beauty. I made the decision to attend the Stardust advanced training in Seattle, with Kristina Melnicenco, which was hosted by "The Karly Rose"! Karly worked endless hours securing our location, promoting Kristina's program, organizing models for us to work on, answering our questions and really developing a unity among artist before we even arrived for the class. Growing up, I had full brows. Then in my mid 20's they slowly started to thin, to the point of almost nothing. I was left with a very spindly eyebrows I had to pencil in daily and it took so much time and effort to do that as well as find the right shade, make them look equal etc. I had recently been married in Maui and the make up artist had also done a phenomenal job on my eyebrows so that was what initially set off my interest. Then I saw the Evening Magazine piece. First off I looked up the business they were promoting on the show, only to find reviews were very iffy and artists had not been doing this very long. I wasn't comfortable using that business. I began to research the best of the best in the Seattle area knowing I did not want to go with some cheap Groupon deal etc. when it comes to my face you could say I'm rather picky and wasn't going to leave my eyebrows up to just anyone. After doing a lot of Internet researching and reading great reviews I settled on Karly and contacted her for an appointment. True, you have to wait a month or two to get into see her, that's how awesome she is and how much in demand. Well, it was worth it! She worked with me over the course of three months from the first time I saw her and now I have the most beautiful brows imaginable! I could not be more elated! She is a true professional in every sense of the word. She spends a great deal of time at the onset of the first appointment designing the brows that not only you want, but that will look good and match well with your face. She has amazing cleanliness, ensuring everything is sterilized. And she's just an absolutely lovely person, the kind of person you feel like you've known your whole life, warm, caring, and very friendly. She wants to make sure you are 100% satisfied and if you are not she will do anything to fix it. My eyebrows look so natural, the brush strokes look like real hair, and I have gotten a number of compliments. I carry her business cards in my wallet to give out when I am asked about my brows. I look forward to seeing her again when I need a touch up/fill although she assures me it should be at least a year or more.
