On February 24, 2022, while out of the country, my neighbor noticed our furnace was not working…read more (temperature in the house was 28 degrees). I asked them to call Badger Heating in Stevens Point to get the furnace repaired. An employee of Badger appeared an hour later, neighbors stayed at the home the entire time the furnace was being repaired. As soon as the furnace started, the Badger employee left--he did not wait in the house to make sure everything was running properly. Needless to say, during the next 12 hours, frozen pipes ruptured causing extensive water damage. Badger called my neighbor the following morning to check on the system and found the ruptured heating pipes. It's been a nightmare since. I'm writing this 6 weeks later without heat in my master bedroom. We have called Badger repeatedly to complete the repair on the new baseboard they installed. They sent me a an almost $4,000 bill saying everything is working--but it's not. One morning mid March, two employees came over, said they were going to the warehouse to get flanges and never returned or called (for the whole day!). We waited all day for their return. We continue to call; Badger says, "someone will be over this week"--a week goes by, nobody comes. The following week, an employee just 'drops by' (no call) and stays a few minutes, and leaves. On April 5, 2022 at 3:00 p.m., Badger arrives, brought two of the end caps for the baseboards (the middle one is still missing) and she has no idea on how to get heat into my master bedroom--stayed for 20 minutes and left. So, it's now April 10th and still no heat in the bedroom, but I have a bill saying it's repaired. We told them we are not paying the bill until the heating situation is repaired; one technician said "I don't care if you never pay the bill". I'm dealing with all this post traumatic stress from going out of town and coming home to thousands of dollars of damage and a heating company that can't seem to finish what they started!

They diagnosed the problem (heat exchanger) and they took the step to contact the manufacturer to check whether the part was still under warranty. I didn't know, as I just bought the house 6 months ago. The part was still under warranty, they ordered it and came back on Wednesday to install it. Although they easily could have just tried to sell me a new boiler, they only suggested the work that was actually needed at this point. They were efficient, professional and did a great job. I recommend them for HVAC work.
