Between these last two visits, the office staff initially told her they don't DO eye exams (huh?!) and that she should leave, after I purposely made the appointment for that reason. She went back in later that day to get her eye exam when they said, oh, you wanted an EYE exam! They didn't know how to bill her for the service, overcharged then reversed the charge, and tried to tell my daughter she needed an extra exam(=more $) for a different type of contact. Dr. Liva stressed how very important it was that she take the prescription medication for floaters, which they didn't even give her when she walked out. He then proceeded to speak inappropriately to my daughter about her personal life. Yikes! How can someone be so bad and still be in business! One initial reason I went to them in the first place is they assured me they're in network for her eye exam. They're not. I couldn't figure out why the waiting room was so crowded with people until I realized there was probably a bomb threat going on down the hall and they needed some place to cop a squat till the all clear. I'd advise them to go back to the third world country that they come from but I've got too much respect for health care workers in third world countries.

Everyone I've interacted with was very friendly. I was referred here by my eye doctor because there was a concern that I had holes in my retina. Unfortunately, after my first visit to NJ Retina it was confirmed that I do indeed have holes in my retina. Dr. Levenson took great care of me and took the time to answer any questions I had. On my second visit he sealed up the holes in my left eye by shooting a laser at them. I'm due to go back in a week to have my right eye done. Not the most comfortable experience, but I know it's necessary. I'm satisfied with the care I'm getting at NJ Retina

He checked me out, told me everything was OK and said it was not necessary to have a follow-up visit. I appreciate his advice, honesty and professionalism. Later, I had a problem with my eye that caused serious changes in my vision. I requested the first appointment that they had and Dr. Marisa Lau examined me. She was very thorough, professional, encouraging, reassuring, pleasant and gave me good advice. I followed her advice for a couple of months and in time, my eye healed. She did not suggest anything unnecessary, like, Dr. Hahn, but provided the medical evaluation and follow-up that was needed. I think she's great! All of the other employees were positive, too, including the receptionists and medical assistants! Sorry, off-hand, the only other employee's name that I remember was Katherine.

I have been going Dr. Andrew for several years for a history of glaucoma management. The office poses problems in time management that I didn't experience in the past. My wait the last two visits was 1hour, and then even longer 1 hour and 40 minutes just in the waiting area. It was the same for other patients shuffled into different rooms to sit. The communication in between was not particularly good and I feel if there was a long wait anticipated the patient should be informed. I personally was upset and nearly left. My fear is my next appointment and blocking in 3 hours of time for a standard follow up appointment, and wondering about anything more serious with my vision in the future needing surgery scheduling, and in general a more efficient approach with patients. Overall, I like Dr. Andrew who did apologize for the excessive wait time, however I think the office management part and patient needs are needing improvement. That is why I am explaining my rating being low. (2025)
