The Morning Line Radio Show is incredibly bad. I know it is a paid program, but KLAA should charge a much higher price.

I applied for my own show and it ran for a couple of quarters at the station. I loved my time there. I made amazing friends that I still keep in touch with today and made amazing memories. I really love music so this was a great way to share music I loved and learn about music other people love. KUCI is great for students and community members to get involved in radio and learn about how radio works and even host a show. It can be talk or music. People involved in the station can also get involved in fundraising for the station. Being a part of KUCI during my college years was fun and it was also about real life situations like running a station. It's definitely a team effort. Today, I sub from time to time and I always love to come back. KUCI is very inclusive and eclectic. It's definitely worth listening too and also being a part of. It's the most grass-roots college radio can get.

Was there some uber-awesome, secret club within the three campus portables that defined the radio station? yups* *This one time, my band played the ska parade. We were very unprofessional and kept stopping and shouting things between songs. We were almost removed from the building before our pseudo-climactic "hit" song. (You see, the ska parade was the most recognizable program to come out of this radio station at the time. We weren't the most likely candidates for such a show, but our odd stream of local popularity garnered us the chance to play. Because our kuci loyalty was already previously established with "a little something refreshing" and "the skunk club" which aired pretty much at dawn and played our music regardless of established popularity, we decided it would be much more amusing to just mess around for 45 minutes on the ska parade, and "rep" for our early morning friends) We finished the set and walked away laughing heartily. That was just one miniscule memory. I love this station. I miss that stuff so much. I don't even know what the lineup is anymore. I bet it still rocks.

This was the radio station always came in with a clear signal, because the secular radio stations from Los Angeles and San Diego had weak signals due to our location at the very south end of Orange county. So you can imagine my disdain for radio station that wasn't playing wild music, that preached about Jesus, the apostles, and let me tell you there times I despised this radio station. I was a 17 year old child who knew very little. Now I can tell you how I am longing to hear that Chuck Smith senior's voice, but unfortunately I only get to hear repeats of his sermons. The one thing that bothers me is how this station advertises a well-known cult rehab called uturns for Christ, and I believe they should separate themselves from such a disgusting rehab that exploits those who are in a vulnerable position in their lives.(It's not like they're in financial dire straits!

I always loved being able to listen to scripture day or night, getting fed by the Word of God, when I wasn't home to do a study, it was just sooo convenient. When I drive outside my normal hours and actually hear a study it makes me so happy, please bring back more Bible studies!

SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT!!!…read more Okay, maybe not technically a scam but TOTAL FRAUD and MISREPRESENTATION. Look at the reviews for this place in Los Angeles. Here's what they do: 1. They pack you in a room for a horrible presentation about the history of radio. Who needs this? We have the internet now. In So Cal, there are only so many radio stations that pay any type of real salary. 2. What YOU do is BUY airtime. Yup, YOU buy airtime on a tiny near zero frequency station and the way you make money is -- by selling your own ADVERTISING for your 1 hour radio show at 4am on an invisible radio station that your car can't even pick up. 3. But! it is a radio gig, right? Well, if that's what you think. You'd be better off doing a podcast and charging advertising. It would get out to exponentially more people. 4. They put ads in the paper for DJ WANTED! RADIO PERSONNEL NEEDED! Well, yes, they just need to sell tiny brackets of useless airtime. 5. If you have time to kill and want to see it in person, go and check it out. My favorite part of going with my friend (it was her idea for her show) was when they LOCKED the doors so we couldn't leave until loooonnnng presentation. YIKES!

Most university radio stations in general are better anyways. It plays a variety of genres of eclectic music depending on the DJ at the hour. One thing that I do find irksome though is that some of the KSPC DJs tend to sound rather spaced-out or trippy at times. Also, the radio station has a fairly limited broadcast range and it is quite easy to lose the signal in the car. It would be advisable to listen through the TuneIn app and aux jack. For those interested, the station offers a license plate frame via mail free of charge. I would strongly encourage everybody to support KSPC.
