    Patty melt and tots
    Amanda C.

The food is ok. Very bland. The chicken chili was more like chicken and a variety of beans. There's nothing chili about it. However, it had good flavor. The chicken Alfredo was fine. It was on the bland side, but it was fine. The patty melt was good. It was heavy on the onions, but overall good. The roast beef French dip was unsatisfying. The meat tasted weird. The burger was fine. Everything is just ok. I would eat here again. The prices were decent. They have a cheap drink menu. Our waitress never came back for us to order drinks, so I cannot comment on it.

    Bad casino

This place was friendly and all but I can't help but see these slot machines not produce what people are experiencing as, "fun." The amount of time it takes to win is obvious for the house, and everyone there seemed sucked into the flashing lights but these digital slot machines runs on algorithms technically not scamming you, but in a way promotes fun even if you lose. The machines are making those noises because it's taking your money and it's actually celebrating.... Thoughts?

The food here is rather mediocre but it's also some of the only food around for a few miles other than a dollar general. So as long as you have that expectation you'll be set. It's a small casino with what looks to be only slots, no card games. Though if you sign up for their rewards program that is free you get some free slot play which is cool.

Hit on both of these machines!

The food is not bad for what it is. I had the steak and it was a good portion size for both the main entree and sides. As for the slot machines...I get it. People will say it's a waste of money (and it usually is) but let me post here as a true visitor who stopped in one night during a motorcycle trip to Crater Lake. I won $600 on one slot machine, then $120 on another slot machine. The best part was they were right next to each other! If you're looking for Vegas, this will disappoint. If you're looking for something to do in Chilaquin (sp?), this place isn't so bad.

However, I was surprised there was no central sanitary dump as I assumed and most reputable camp grounds that offer RV sites always have a dump station regardless of individual site connections. You should know that if you need to dump your RV tanks and reserve a partial hookup site, they will charge you $20 to use one of the full hookup sites sanitary dump. If those full hookup sites are full you are shit out of luck. Also know the laundry facility is $10 for the room key. Machines are no cost (if they work). So do as many loads as you can. Bathrooms are relatively clean. Expect to wait a while if the park is full as there is only one shower. Opps! Beware of charges to your credit card. There are many review comments abroad about this facility potentially scamming customers with faulty or dishonest charges without their permission. Check and double check your current and pending charges on your card (before and after) leaving the resort. Websites can be deceiving: Resort website says Crater Lake is 7 -8 miles (not correct) from resort as well as 30 minutes. It's actually approx. 22 miles. Not a big deal but that should really be reflected honestly. Note to business owner Matthew: Lots of negative or oddly worded back comments from him to those customers with less than positive reviews. Thats definately not a good look. And yes, people do read them and make decisions based on those negative reviews. The ladies at the front desk: Wow, I had to walk on egg shells. One was complaining about another customer when I entered the door. Again, not a good look. It seemed as though they both were bothered by check-ins. Love the community pizza oven and gas grill. Did not get a chance to use them. This is a great place for your dog to romp in the grass Nearest grocery store is 8-9 miles away. The Resort Store has some dry goods; canned junk and frozen things. So be sure to come prepared. Especially if you want to eat healthy nutritional.

We stayed here for one night and checked in after hours. The environment itself is beautiful,…read morequiet, rustic, and surrounded by nature, but there were some serious gaps in communication that affected our stay. The on-site store had very limited essentials and only accepted cash. We were told the card machine was down, but another family checking out after a multi-day stay said it had been broken the entire time. There was no prior notice about the cash-only setup, not even an email, and that made things unnecessarily difficult for travelers just passing through. The mosquitoes were relentless. My sister, who is allergic, got bitten all over within minutes. There was no warning or signage about the bug situation and no repellents or advice offered during check-in. We ended up buying Benadryl and bug spray from the store, which thankfully helped, but it was expensive and wiped out all the cash we had. The man working at the store was incredibly kind and tried his best to help us, which we really appreciated. Inside the cabin, the space was cute and cozy but basic. There weren't many toiletries provided, so definitely bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. That said, we were really happy to have an oven and a sink, which gave us the option to cook and clean on our own. After days of road trip meals and takeout, that felt like a luxury. We also saw birds foraging near the cabin and got to canoe on the creek for free. That ended up being one of the most peaceful and memorable parts of our trip. My mom and I shared a quiet moment on the water that made the visit feel special in spite of the rough patches. This place has a lot of potential and could be great for people who arrive fully stocked and prepared. With better communication about the cash policy, mosquitoes, and what amenities are or aren't included, it could be much more welcoming for short-term visitors.

We stayed here to get away from the crowds near Crater Lake. Check in was simple at the Union Creek Lodge. The store and gift shop is well stocked with snacks, drinks, toiletries, trinkets, and such. Our cabin #12 was huge- way more space than the two of us needed, but I think it was a better option than a room at the Lodge or a one room cabin. Now, there was NO cell/wifi service in or around the campground unless you were at the Lodge. This didn't bother us, but make sure to have what you need downloaded or printed out ahead of time. The bugs were everywhere- ants, spiders, gnats, mosquitos. It was late July so that was to be expected. I don't mind them outside, it is when they are IN the cabin that I get a bit weirded out. I didn't feel comfortable opening the windows because there are no screens so that is just a welcome sign inviting more bugs. During the evenings we strolled around the campground, ate some pie from Beckies, and sat near the creek. Overall, we had a quiet and enjoyable time at the campground.

This is THE place if you are willing to give up some modern conveniences for a small town vibe and a peaceful respite. I loved how the two owners Robin and Jim made me feel at home. I love their, ahem...mature hippy vibe. We spent some time talking about the good old days of the 60's and 70's. They've owned this place since the early 2000's and basically rebuilt it. They made sure that all of my needs were met and what to expect inside room number 2. Thank you for the complimentary sumatra coffee and creamer for the next morning. FYI, there is no wi-fi or cable. Instead they offer free DVD's to play on their in-room DVD player and flat panel TV. Or bring a book or other literature to read to plan your next day. The room was just what I needed: a comfortable bed, a hot shower, AC and heat. BONUS: a kitchenette, cubes to charge your devices, tiny gas powered fireplace, desk with chair, box fan, etc. Plus a carport for the car. I felt safe there. For being next to a highway, it was quiet after sunset. Now to dispel any rumor that Crater is closed. I spent the day enjoying the national park before retiring for the evening at Jo's. The next day I returned to the park to do the things I didn't do the day before. Currently everything is open except the east rim.
