Here's the reason I gave this Pet store a low rating. I negotiated a lower price on a dog that they…read morehad there. STILL, that was TOP DOLLAR. And, they can't seem to be able to get the actual AKC paperwork on our dog, though they advertised the animal as AKC Registered. After doing some research, it came from just another Amish Puppy Mill in Indiana. Sadly, the Amish are great people but they have no respect or love for animals at all. They do the minimum that they can do to create and then sell their dogs for huge money. Our dog was sick when we got it. Miserable actually. Further, our dog was clearly never handled or socialized in any way by the breeder. So we've been pulling a train up a hill every day since as a result. Our dog is great and we love it, but it has issues related to the Amish Puppy Mill that it was born into. We should have paid max $500 for our dog with the issues we had and the lack of documentation. We actually paid 4 times that! The good news was that the Pat's Pets warranty paid for that and a couple of other serious items that came up. The vet that they use is truly EXCELLLENT! And they advocate for the dogs and their owners. The vet is very expensive also. In the final analysis, just do research on the dog that you want to adopt and bring into your life. For the sake of the dog that you will love and for your own sake, DO NOT "IMPULSE BUY" A DOG, especially from these guys. They don't care about their animals. They don't care where they come from. And they clearly don't care about you. It is ALL about the money with them. And that's all. They have an amazing document that they make you sign that basically get's them off the hook, no matter what. It's all on you, so don't be stupid. Buy from a reputable dog breeder, not an Amish Pup Mill! Buy from a breeder that can provide proper paperwork and documentation. That can show you the parents and their lineage. Get your dog from people who handle and love their dogs and their puppies. Buy from someone who is passionate about their dogs, and NOT just about the money that they will bring in.

On several occasions, I have patronized PetSmart over the past year. While the products and…read moreservices are good and available, if you need help or have a question, that is a different matter. The employees are few. For example, if you need assistance in the aquatic area there is never anyone there to help. If you are fortunate to get someone's attention they get an employee to help. The problem is that there is generally a long waiting time before an employee is available. On occasion that employee is not trained nor particularly knowledgeable in the types of fish they have or the types of fish in which the customer is interested. In my opinion, customers go to a store like PetSmart because they are experts and experienced in one category--pet wellbeing. There should be employees available to answer questions and offer opinions on a variety of pet wellness. This is not readily the situation.

I visited your store with the intent to inquire about purchasing one of your jumping spiders. Upon…read morearriving at the live animal section, I searched for an available team member to assist me but was unable to locate one. I then walked to the checkout area and waited in line behind a customer who was completing a transaction. I was the only person in line behind him. While waiting, an older woman approached and attempted to cut the line to ask the cashier a question. I politely but clearly stated that I was in line. She acknowledged me, stepped back, and I proceeded to ask the cashier if someone could come assist me at the jumping spider enclosures. The cashier appeared to radio for assistance via walkie-talkie, and I stepped to the side to wait for a team member to arrive. What followed was unacceptable. While I was patiently waiting, the same cashier then turned his attention back to the woman the same woman I had already addressed and helped her with her inquiry. I then heard him apologize to her, though I am unsure of the reason. He then directed her to go speak with a female employee near the spider enclosures the very same employee I had been waiting for. This meant the woman who had attempted to cut the line ahead of me was now being assisted before me, as a direct result of the cashier's actions. When I recognized what had happened, I asked the cashier directly: "So, did you get someone to help me?" He confirmed that yes, the employee near the spiders was available to assist. I then pointed out that he had just directed the other woman to that same employee. His response was to essentially acknowledge the mistake with a casual "oh yeah," and then he turned away from me to speak to a coworker without offering any apology, any correction, or any further attempt to assist me. At that point, I made the decision to leave the store entirely. I should not have to advocate for myself repeatedly in what should be a basic service interaction. I waited patiently, I communicated respectfully, and I followed the proper process yet I was overlooked and effectively ignored in favor of a customer who had not been in line ahead of me. I want to be clear: this is not about a minor inconvenience. This is about a blatant failure to follow basic customer service protocol, a lack of acknowledgment when the error was pointed out, and a complete absence of any effort to rectify the situation. This experience has left me feeling disrespected and unwilling to return to this location. I had planned to make a purchase that day and am now forced to seek assistance at an alternate location or competitor.

Mostly every weekend I would get live mice/rats, however I noticed something weird about a rat I had purchased, thought it was just a spot but come to find out their rats have fleas. It was a MASSIVE flea, which it takes time for a flea to get big. I knew at that moment this is why I have been battling fleas with my three cats for around 8 months because I had never in my life of owning cats have had that issue. Also probably why my ball python who never rejects has been rejecting. Told shop owner about fleas, they said they don't have fleas and all they could do was give me another rat, ( that probably had fleas too ) or my money back for the rat. I was more concerned of the fact Iv spent hundreds of dollars trying to help my poor cats stop itching. Plus my hungry/annoyed ball python. Stop going there all together. I now go straight through a reputable rat/mouse breeder, they are always healthy, plump, and are treated for fleas. Soon after I switched I was able to get rid of the fleas, my ball python is eating again, and I get rats/mice for a quarter of the price. Win win after all of the stress I guess.

This review is not written lightly, and it's not about being "upset" -- it's about accountability…read more We adopted a cat from this Humane Society after being told the cat was healthy. Within weeks, the cat showed worms, blood-related health issues, and ongoing medical problems that were clearly present before adoption. That alone is unacceptable. What made this experience truly awful was how it was handled afterward. We contacted the Humane Society multiple times asking for help. We were told we would receive a call back -- we never did. We called again. Still no real help, no solutions, no follow-up. Just silence. When we pushed for answers, instead of support or responsibility, we were blamed. We were told we "should have gone to a specialist" and then informed that we are banned from adopting from this Humane Society ever again. That response is shocking, especially considering this situation exists because we were given a sick animal under the claim of being healthy. We are now being forced to return a cat we became emotionally attached to because we cannot afford hundreds of dollars in vet bills for conditions that should have been addressed prior to adoption or at least disclosed honestly. This review is directed not just at staff, but at management, board members, donors, and the community: * Why are sick animals being adopted out as "healthy"? * Why are adopters ignored when they ask for help? * Why are adopters punished instead of supported? Adoption should be about the well-being of animals and the people opening their homes to them -- not deflection, silence, and blame. I strongly encourage leadership to respond publicly and explain how situations like this are handled, because based on our experience, there is a serious lack of transparency and compassion here. Then to finish it all up when the cat was dropped of they said nothing , took the cat , the paperwork , and gave the carrier back.
