I started to tell her about my dog and Gena, the owner, snapped at me about being impatient and rude. The customer in front of me offered to let me check in and Gena got short with me and began lecturing me about manners. I declined her service. I was afraid of how she would treat my baby. We have taken our 3 dogs to Gena for years now. When does a great job with our 2 toy poodles. One of which is a witch. She even bites me when I try to clip her nails. Gena has always been tolerant of her and we get it that if they are feisty and bitie they may not be perfect. Gena sure tries to make them perfect and we appreciate her hard work. You can trust this shop to take great care of your pet while I n their care. They do not use neck leashes while grooming and I like that. Shampoo and conditioner is all high quality products. This is by far the best groomer I have ever been to- and I've been to a ton of groomers in my life! They spent 3 hours washing my giant, temperamental Akita (who HATES baths) and we're not intimidated at all! He was shedding clumps of fur and it is all gone! Paws n Claws is a true gem in South Bend! They are a true family run business, and you feel those values to the core. My rescue pup is very timid and nervous, yet they were able to clip his nails which is something even our vet wanted to wait on until he was under anesthesia for an upcoming neuter. The groomer even sponge washed his face because he was so scared of the water hose. He came back smelling so clean and was adorned with a handpicked bandana that complimented his fawn coloring. Paws and Claws made my beagle smell so very nice. We have made a visit to nearly every groomer in town and Paws and Claws is by far the best. First and foremost my dog was clean and smelled wonderful. His shedding was greatly reduced after our visit and he still smells great and it's been nearly a month! I got there around 8:57 A.M. for 9:00 appointment checked in my dog younger gal at the front great customer service. Left my dog thinking everything will be alright. Received a call at 9:46 A.M. they couldn't groom my dog. Once I got to the establishment I'm assuming the owner Gina handling a customer as I was speaking to the customer as well having a conversation. As soon as the customer walked out. She had outwardly displeasure on her face. I stated to her why couldn't you groom my dog. If I can stand by her as she groomed my dog. She was like "No" in a yelling tone. I stated to her can I get my dog. She was like he tired to bite my leg. He's never try to bite a person . I have three children. I know my dog only growls when its out of self defense or fearful. Dogs can sense when a person have negative moods. So the younger lady bought the dog out. She stated to the younger girl "I'm not touching it ". You're referring him to it will gladly taking someone money not caring about how I felt as new customer walking into the establishment. I told to Gina if I can get my dog as he came to me in distressed , watery eyes & whimpering. I told her he did not bite me and try to run to her daughter to smell her. She yelled get out I said I will let me first get my dog. She then came to the front try to shoved me out of her business and kept yelling I've been doing this for twenty years in front of two employees. I yelled at her don't touch me or I will call the police I stated what kind of establishment treats people like this. I will put a review on your establishment. Screaming continually and the sad situation in front of I'm assuming her daughter. As my dog hide under the table to the corner of the front entrance door SCARED. I myself trying to carry him she kept saying profanity words. I myself was not let someone talk to me in that matter or tone! As I was walking out Gina was still following me screaming foul language. I myself returned words. I was aiming to get my phone to record her. As I got my dog in the truck she had the door half open when a Papa John employee asked what happened she kept yelling continually she thinks I'm racist , racist , racist . I've never would once use the race card. Yes I came to the point and flick her off I had enough of her offensive language. She also stated we can take this to the back B****. Yes, I could handle the situation different! I've never in my life have been treated unfairly. It was awful experience and I happy my children do not have to witnessed what I went through! read more
