Tomomi S, was our super tour guide and definitely made the tour enjoyable and entertaining. On top of this, it was a family vacation and the first time to Japan for some. With a 3-generation group, we wanted to make sure to make it fun for everyone with a mix of interests. Using Omakase Travels was such a time-saver and made the entire trip enjoyable and less stressful with a detailed daily itinerary created for us by owner Ayaka. We were pleasantly surprised at the details she provided which helped us navigate through the train stations and places with links to maps and schedules. We chose our own 4 hotels and she worked the itinerary around the areas we would be in. We were provided with restaurant recommendations as well which were very helpful. With two Vegans in our group, it was a must as Japan which is easy for Vegetarians but not so with Vegans. We had a list of must do activities which required advance reservations and ticketing and also added some activities recommended by Ayaka. In 10 days, we were able to visit museums, parks and shopping while scheduling in a visit to Ghibli Museum (hard to get tickets without advance planning!), Harry Potter, TeamLab Borderless and more. In a pinch, we turned to Omakase Travels to help us plan, make reservations, and book tickets for our trip. We can safely say that our trip would not have happened without Ayaka's personal help. She chatted with us virtually a couple of times to discuss our budget and interests. We had a fun and responsive back and forth about itinerary before locking it down. We had a lot of concerns because we have younger children and we were worried how they would fair with jet lag and the summer heat. Because of Ayaka's thorough itinerary we managed to avoid those points in a trip where you are stuck without a ticket or a ride and far from any food or hotel. We had zero child meltdowns and our children loved all the activities she suggested. It was an epic trip with 6 hotels in 13 days, traveling all over the country. We booked our Hawaii Aloha Travel adventure thru Kara. We created a customized trip, with 3…read moreislands (Oahu, Big Is, Kauai) and chose our excursions for each island with one excursion each day, and a free day at the end on each island to explore, or just relax at the beach. The excursions we chose were pretty much exactly as advertised online. The only excursion we didn't love was the Catamaran Sandbar Snorkeling, Paddleboard, and Kayaking on Oahu - the boat had no outdoor spaces, and all seating was picnic table style, and pretty crowded - this would be great for families with kids, but it wasn't really relaxing, and not the greatest for snorkeling. The Crew and live entertainment were great though. Highly recommend Diamond Head hike, and Manoa Falls hike on Oahu; Volcano E-bike tour, and Sunset Cruise to Kealakekua Bay on Big Is; and Wailua River Kayak and Rainforest Waterfall hike, and Backcountry Tubing on Kauai - these were all unforgettable experiences! We rented a car for one day on Oahu for our 'free day' and drove up to the North Shore - completely different vibe than Waikiki, and we loved it! Lots of food trucks, shopping, and the ocean views were spectacular - and completely different from Waikiki Beach area. All of the islands are magical, but Kauai was our favorite.

Our group consisted of 7 friends who are even closer as friends after the trip. The max amount of vacationers are capped at 12. I love going on tour with small groups. The driver, Masa, met us at the airport and escorted us to the first hotel. He is very efficient and speaks fluent English, plus he is a great driver. Our guide, Marie, was super attentive to our needs. She did a fantastic job considering this was her very first tour. When we signed up we noticed that on this tour we would be on our own for 4 dinners. I was happy because this gave us a chance to experience Japanese cuisine on our own. It is so cheap and, like everyone tells you, the food is so good. I highly recommend going on this tour (they have various packages) because the logistics are so much easier with a small group. We are going to see if they have a tour going toHokkaido next. Also, we had just toured Korea and during that tour us seniors got to the hotel every night at between 8-8:30. It was exhausting. We had plenty of time everyday to have a few cocktails before dinner or do a little browsing in the shops that are walking distance from our hotel.

I enlisted Meg's help at Travel to Paradise because of all the travel agents I spoke with, Meg asked me the most questions and really gathered insights on what my husband and I were looking for in this trip. She was organized, thorough, and painted me such a great picture of what our Babymoon could really look and feel like in a way that felt designed just for us and we liked to do. Usually I do hours of research to plan my ideal vacation; but since I didn't have the time, I could tell that Meg would approach it the same way that I would have, and I trusted her local insights. Meg referred us to a network of people who provided dinner recommendations and excursions for the two islands we planned to visit (The Big Island and Kauai). By the way, the helicopter tour over Kauai was the absolute trip highlight! And we enjoyed our Snorkel Cruise in Kealakeua Bay.
