Something fun to do after doing some shopping! We found this Kit Kat store while shopping and you can create your own Kit Kat bar in store! First, they have three flavours of chocolate that you can choose from: milk, white or dark chocolate. Then, you can choose three toppings (they have around 12 toppings you can choose from, e.g strawberries, almond, hazelnuts, marshmallow...etc.) Lastly, you can choose to either customize the box or let them surprise you with a box. It's pretty fun thing to do with your friends! While waiting in store, my friend and I found that the lines to be a bit confusing. We did not know where the lines were. For the Kit Kat bar, we ordered dark chocolate with frozen strawberries, almond and marshmallow. The strawberries were dried and it added a fresh taste to the chocolate. With the marshmallow and almond, it made the chocolate so much better in texture! Definitely worth a try!

Pretty neat place. I went on grand opening day, no discount or freebies. You can customize your own Kit Kat for $15 (8 Kit Kat sticks in one box) There are three steps, step 1: selecting between milk, white and dark chocolate. Step 2: You can choose up to three items to add to the mix, I've added sliced almonds, short bread and chocolate cream filled cookie. There are other items such as butterscotch toffee, Christmas Tree Sprinkles, Dried cranberries, dried rose petal, freeze-dried raspberries, mini marshmallows, mini pretzels, organic gummy bear, peanut butter chips, rainbow sprinkles, rippled potatoes chips, shredded coconut, snowflake sprinkles. Step 3: You can write a personal message or check off "surprise me and have Kit Kat write something" They will text you with a message and order number saying: "Your KITKAT Create Your Break order # is 740 and will be ready in 90mins at the KITKAT CHOCOLATORY. We'll message you when it's ready. "And once it's ready, you will get another message saying: "It's time. Your KITKAT Create Your Break order # 740 is ready to be collected. Come back to the KITKAT CHOCOLATORY to pick up your bar!" Again, just in time for Christmas and love the fact you can customize your own chocolate and to write your own message. There are other items in the store where you can't purchase outside. Worth checking it out!

$8 each. The description is better than the taste.

I stumbled upon the Kitkat Chocolatory while grabbing Village Juicer across the hall. This is the first time I had been to Yorkdale in about 3-4 years so everything seemed so new and overwhelming...and busy, so very very busy. I went into the Kitkat shop purely for the novelty of it. Their special Kit Kat bars start at $8. I bought two and have to say I was probably expecting more from the flavour profile but alas it just tastes like a regular Kit Kat. I'm pretty disappointed and wish I had spent the $16 on more juice instead. How long they'll stay in business when there are so many more chocolate shops to choose from, beats me.

Kit Kat Customization? Unique Kit Kat Creations? Sign me up! 1 of 4 locations world wide and being the only one in the North American region, we decided to stop by and check it out. Located inside the Yorkdale Shopping Mall, the store front isn't that large but it's cutely designed and decorated. You could even say it's border line insta worthy for a quick pic or two for all you influencers out there. They have pre-made unique creations which vary from $8-$12 and the cake topper is that you can actually create your own creations as well which is a fun and interactive experience. Some of the pre-made creations include. A lot of these are limited editions or uniquely created by customers that became really popular. - Hello Nanaimo - Milk Chocolate with a hint of French Vanilla topped with coconut flakes and graham cracker crumbs. - Kiss from a Pistachio Rose - Rich dark chocolate topped with dried strawberries, crunchy pistachios and rose petals. - Espresso and Macchiato - Milk/White Chocolate Swirl with ground coffee, espresso beans and cocoa nibs - Have your Cake - Birthday cake flavored white chocolate with Sprinkles Custom Creations: The kit kat will cost $15, and the steps are pretty straight forward and easy. Step 1: Pick your chocolate (dark, white, milk) Step 2: Pick up to 3 toppings for your KitKat Step 3: You can customize the name you want on your box (up to 88 letters). When you get to the cashier, they will confirm your choices and show on their screen how your personalized message will look. The creation and customization will take around 90 min and I believe if you can't come back on the same day, they'll hold it up to 2 days for you? Summary: Come check it out. Fun and interactive process. Great for gifts or just a fun activity to do! Only 1 of 4 locations world wide and the only one in the North American region.

This is the first chocolatory in North America and I was so glad it's right here in Toronto! Depending on what time of the day you go, I would say the experience may vary (mainly because of lineups). I went on a weekday evening around 6:30pm and I didn't have to wait long in the line to place my custom break order. One of the staff suggested going during the day Monday to Wednesdays as the ideal time for least amt of traffic. Inside the store, you will notice a wall of chocolates - unique flavours, in total there is about 7 different flavours to choose from that are premade and packaged and ready to go. Below are the current flavours they have: Exclusive editions: Seriously Blueberry Streusel - blueberry flavoured white chocolate with streusel clusters and blueberries Delightfully, Coffee and donuts - Donut flavoured milk chocolate with ground coffee and sprinkles Seasonal Flavours: Absolutely Candy Cane - dark chocolate with candy cane and gingerbread cookie Whoa, White cranberry - white chocolate with cranberries, pistachios and snowflake sprinkles Kitkat Gold - first edition of a caramel flavoured white chocolate kitkat Birthday cake - Birthday cake flavoured white chocolate with sprinkles Hooray Rose - Rose wine flavoured white chocolate with dried rose pedals the first 4 are $8 for a bar (it's basically 4 kitkat pieces), and the Kitkat Gold is $10, Birthday cake and Rose are both $12 each (they are also larger pieces). Next to the stocks are samples of what they look like inside with a little glass jar display. If you want to place a custom order you can - There is a 90 minute wait and they will text you when your order is ready for pickup, so my suggestion is to go there first, order, and then do whatever shopping/eating needs you have while you are at yorkdale. For custom order you can choose white, milk or dark chocolate followed by 3 toppings (pls see photos i submitted for the list). YOu can also customize your box with a message of up to 88 characters. Bar cost $15. I also attended the chef's table experience since they happen to have an opening within the next 10 mins when i came into the store. You can reserve online at opentable as well. Currently it's only 3 time slots (6pm, 7pm, 8pm) for a 45 minute session where you learn about the history of chocolate and how it's made, and you get to watch them fill out the mold and then you get to decorate the bar yourself, which then after it's set for 90 minutes before pickup. You get to choose 3 toppings, but you have exclusive ones to choose from that you cannot get from the regular custom orders, some of which include freeze dried strawberries, golden berries, cocoa nibs, candied ginger, orange peel, etc. I really liked the experience - it's for $45 which i think is a bit on the pricey side coz you basically just get the one bar as a takeaway - if they had included some samples it would have been nice. But they were generous with the toppings and Tia (the chocolatory manager) was kind enough to give me a few pieces of a 4th topping to make my bar look prettier. In addition, they also do swirls on the other side (bottom) of the bar with naturally coloured chocolates. All in all it's a great experience - I hope to see them change up and offer more unique flavours, and for their chefs table, it would be nice if one could do a bit more than just putting the toppings on the bars (but with the spacing that is all they can offer right now). I'm also told that this is the only chocolatory in the world that offers a chef's table experience (it's a first). Definitely worth checking out but perhaps try to come during a time when it's not as busy :) P.s. it's a cashless store they only accept debit or credit cards

What a disappointment! I've been wanting to try this place since it opened a couple of weeks ago, but now I wish that I did not! What a disappointment, what a ripoff, something fancy looking just to fit into the yorkdale profile, but not representing the beautiful kitkat brand! I bought a disgusting small kitkat bar, same one you buy from a dollar store, with some sprinkled pecans on it,like twenty tiny pieces maybe, and I paid $8 for it! There are other bigger ones selling for $12! I've paid and will pay premium prices, way more than this but for premium chocolate! I'd certainly stick to my dollar store kitkat!

Sorry, but I was very disappointed... I thought the shop would be bigger, but it was SUPER small, with only a small wall of different "specialty" kit kats. You can make your own kit kat, which is a great idea in concept, but you also have to wait an hour and a half to pick it up. :/ I'm glad I checked it out, but I don't think I'll actually be going back...

Seeing a few candy companies try and take it to the next level with pop up shops now to keep up with the market and maintain their relevancy. Nothing wrong with that, however the experience is just okay at this place. For the most part you walk in and aren't exactly greeted with much human interaction until you are to either purchase something or ask a question. It's geared towards being very Instagrammable with its kit-kat-like lighting, a seating booth (only meant for probably 2 people) and playful floor tiling. The chocolate bars are about $8.... I mean ofc you can't get these specific flavours elsewhere, but for the more customizable ones, you're looking to shed much more money. Overall it's good to kind of come by maybe once to see and experience it for yourself. And if you're looking for a neat gift, this would be an opportunity to get something that's unique.

Here, you can customize your own KitKat! There are so many topping options to choose from! You can choose 3 toppings and of course, with our indecisiveness, we couldn't decide which 3 to get. You can stick with sweet or go all out and make a savoury one! You can choose from toppings such as mini marshmallows, gummy bears, chips, pretzels, dried rose petals, and so much more! We ended up choosing mini marshmallows, chocolate cream-filled cookies, & Christmas tree sprinkles. You can also choose whether you want dark, milk, or white chocolate. It is definitely a cool and fun experience. You can watch them make it too. It comes in a cute box as well with a personal message printed on it. If you don't want to create your own, they also have special KitKat flavours for sale like cake and coffee & donut flavours that can't be found at other places!

I missed out when KitKat first opened their pop up store in downtown, and I was super happy when I found out they were opening a permanent store in Yorkdale. We came to visit on a Sat around 5pm and there was a line which surprisingly, wasn't that long of a wait (maybe around 20 mins?). You don't need to lineup if you want to head inside to just check the store out or buy their special KitKats. In the line, a worker would come to give you a sheet where you check off options to customize your KitKat. To customize your KitKat will cost $15, and the steps are very easy. Step 1: Pick your chocolate (dark, white, milk), step 2: Pick up to 3 toppings for your KitKat. Step 3: You can customize the name you want on your box (up to 88 letters). When you get to the cashier, they will confirm your choices and show on their screen how your personalized message will look. You will have to wait around 90 mins before your KitKat is available to pick up, and if you can't pick it up on the day of, they hold it for 2 more days. At first you will get a text that tells you your order number: "Your KITKAT Create Your Break order # is 1000 and will be ready in 90mins at the KITKAT CHOCOLATORY. We'll message you when it's ready". A second text will come when it's ready: "It's time. Your KITKAT Create Your Break order # 1000 is ready to be collected. Come back to the KITKAT CHOCOLATORY to pick up your bar!" Tell the pickup cashier your number and reconfirm the details to receiver your KitKat! If you're not interested to make your own KitKat, the store also sells special flavours from $8-12 depending on the size which are great gift ideas. Visiting this place is great experience and totally worth checking out if you haven't already :)

A pop-up shop located inside Yorkdale and it is a place for you to customize your kitkat. $10 per box which is a little bit expensive. Service was great. The staff will give you instruction when you first walk in to the store. Put your own chocolate, then choose your own toppings. It will take 20 to 30 minutes to prepare and pack. You also add personal message on the package.

I took my daughter here before New Years with the mindset that it was about the experience of a limited time pop up. I grew up loving KitKats. The experience itself was fun. Love the pictures, love the design of the store, and me & my daughter had a lot of fun making it. You can really get your favorite flavor in there. The limited time white chocolate with blueberry was great. Only con is that it is super pricey for what you get. If you see it as an attraction though in a time when everyone spends, it's not bad.

I went here for the first time on January 25th. First impression the store is quite small and everything but the staff was very helpful and telling me how everything works which was great! For $15 you could get to customize your own Kit Kat bar with any flavours and toppings on your own customize message which could make a great gift or a treat to yourself which is what I ended up doing! The kit Kat bar itself tasted pretty good although I definitely find it difficult probably cause a combination I did made it very difficult to actually break the Kit Kat bar itself! Nevertheless I'll definitely come back and probably make another one for myself or gifted to one of my friends! :) You do planning on making a kit Kat bar make sure you have at least 90 minutes to spare at the mall because it's not something it could be done within an hour or less depending how busy there are !

Is it 8 bars or 16 bars?

For drinks, we got hot chocolates, and they had one of the best hot chocolates I've ever tasted, and I'm not exaggerating. It was the perfect drink and taste to eat my dessert. Location: The location is very pretty, but it's pretty casual. The seating is pretty close to other guests in the restaurant or tables of two if I'm not mistaken. This is a perfect place to go with friends or family or on a quick date or by yourself. This place looked like it was located on a main street with street parking, but because I was visiting in Toronto, I'm not sure how the parking works as we took Uber. Service: The service was great, and they were very friendly and answered any questions regarding the desserts on display to help us pick the perfect one for ourselves. I spent over $50 on a few items. The owner gave me an itemized receipt. As I was leaving the store, I saw that I was charged for the jumbo version of two items I purchased. I went back to the owner and respectfully showed him the receipt and the items. He was incredibly defensive, scanned the item and showed me the item was marked at the price it should be, but still showed as 'jumbo.' I asked him to scan the jumbo item so I could see I was not being charged for a jumbo and it truly was a system error. He scanned it and nothing was showing up. I'm not entirely sure on this point - but I feel like he was trying to enter a higher price for the jumbo as I stood there so he could justify the incorrect price. I asked for either a refund or to be given the jumbo item since that's what I was being charged for. I don't care if there's an error in your system. Fix it - it's not my problem. The real problem was how this was dealt. The owner wouldn't let me get two words in. He spoke over me for a solid 5 minutes. I kept asking if I could be given the courtesy of explaining what was wrong since he clearly wasn't understanding. I said 'I've been shopping here for ten years. Can you please just let me explain what the problem is without talking over me?" And he said "I don't care. This store's been open for 25 years. It doesn't need you." I was floored. Just a verbal barrage of condescension and abuse. It's a shame. Ten years of patronage out the drain. It's funny that he wrote a review on here asking patrons to give the store another chance. After that display, I'm making it my mission to spread the word on how you shouldn't. The service was the worst I've ever experience in my life. Half the items I purchased are literally expired. Everything is insanely marked up ($10 for a 180g chocolate bar, $3.29 for a regular sized push pop that's not imported). You can also find most everything elsewhere. Bulk barn has a great selection of Jelly Belly's. Also - check your receipts before leaving.
